    The correct way to pull off the connectors you struggled with is a s follows. 1. Look at the white connector on the left, there is a little black strip of plastic on/in the vertical segment of the connector. Get a pick or a very small headed screwdriver. Push underneath that strip of plastic and pry it up. It will pop up. 2. Once that strip pops up THEN do as he instructed. Lift that section of the connector, as it will dislodge the connector from the housing. Then take your time and wiggle the connector and pull. Ensure that you aren’t pulling on the section that is attached to the Ecu like I did, and was wondering why it wasn’t moving. Repeat the steps for the smaller connector on the right.

      Just follow how it was on. take a pic if needed. i just loosen the tensioner to take the belt off. then once the belt was off. and i was done. i routed the belt as it was then lossen the tensioner like i did taking the belt off, and slipped the new belt ojn. super easy! You got this!

    My tensioner pulley seems to rattle but only sometimes. Which makes an slight rattle and chirping sound. Is that your similar experience?

    • @xXBigWedoXx
      @xXBigWedoXx 2 роки тому

      Yes, you can try replacing just the pulley without the whole tensioner assembly. But they only sell the assembly WITH the pulley already on, so you might be left with an extra pulley like me 😆 let me know if u need buy I’ll post to eBay

    • @familygromscarsfun3896
      @familygromscarsfun3896 2 роки тому

      The reason they sell the whole assembly is the fact that the tensioner gets siezed sometimes which will snap the belt and lead to a whole world of headaches.

    Did you notice any performance gains after installing this? I know Yoshi claims around 11% increase in max hp and max torque. I have a 2022 SP and am thinking I might get the slip-on too. I had a full exhaust on my 2017 Grom and the hassle of adding an intake and fuel controller was too much of a pain for not much gain. Any regrets after your purchase?

    I must have missed the reason for the replacement... was it just making noise and you decided to change it out as preventative maintenance? I'm considering replacing my Serpentine belt on my 007 Lexus IS350 with 160K because it has never been done before. Should I consider replacing other pully's as well?

    • @xXBigWedoXx
      @xXBigWedoXx 2 роки тому

      If you’re gonna replace the belt might as well do the pulleys as well. Unfortunately I had to replace the whole tensioner because the bolt holding the pulley was stripped. I have an extra OEM tensioner pulley for anyone looking to buy

    • @familygromscarsfun3896
      @familygromscarsfun3896 2 роки тому

    I bet all you needed to do was replace the pulley and not the tensioner. I did it last weekend and it solved all the noise issues. I replaced the 2 idlers too. Definitely worth trying this first instead of taking the whole engine apart to replace the tensioner. Bad design Lexus!! Great video. Thanks

    • @familygromscarsfun3896
      @familygromscarsfun3896 3 роки тому

      You know i really would have had the technician said the tension has a tendency to sieze and would snap the the belt if that happened, and leave you stranded. So i went ahead and just did it to not have any issues down the road.

    • @ruthnoya8424
      @ruthnoya8424 Рік тому

      Agree completely. I'm all for OEM parts (Bell Lexus has great sales a few times a year) but I've researched the topic and many people even use non-oem, not model specified pulleys to replace the tensioner pulley if they choose to not press in new bearings into the original. A pulley is one of the simplest components on an engine. The only time I'd spend the time, money and hassle is if the tensioner was not working properly (ie. keeping tension on the belt).
