Good luck to them on their retirement and congratulations on a great career serving the city of Detroit. Audio from Broadcastify and Radioreference.
Chicago Fire Department Tower Ladder

CPD said it was too dangerous to stand on the sidewalk across the street from the firebuilding so I took a few minutes to shoot the tower ladder squeezing the basket between two trees. This was at a still and box at 71st and Green.

Chicago Police Shooting and Pursuit Radio Traffic

An incredible job by a CPD officer to get one scumbag off the street, only to let a Cook County Judge probably let him off easy. This started with a shooting and then a pursuit of the possible shooter's vehicle. I included the entire thing and it is all in real time. Audio courtesy of Broadcastify.

After an aggressive interior attack, Detroit firefighters are ordered out of the building and into a defensive posture. The horns you are hearing are done to let companies on the fireground know that evacuation has been ordered.

It began in a large two story under construction which was fully involved on arrival and through the roof. That is the first building you see in the first section. It was immediately upgraded to a 3rd alarm and then to a fourth a few minutes later. It wound up taking the s...
Chicago Fire Department Radio Traffic Engine 74
Переглядів 1,3 тис.6 років тому
On March 9th, 2018, Engine 74 was first up on 2 significant fires in a span of 12 hours. For those with little knowledge of the Chicago Fire Department, normally Engine 74 might be first due on 2 fires in an entire year. The first was a 2-11 at about 8:30am and the second was a Still and Box at around 8:30pm. Kind of a rare event so here is some radio traffic brought to you by Broadcastify and ...

Chicago Fire Department Still & Box Alarm
Переглядів 1,8 тис.6 років тому
A rare still and box alarm on Chicago's far southeast side. Radio traffic is condensed. Audio is courtesy of Broadcastify and Radioreference.
If you listen closely, you can hear a sound similar to a bird chirping. Unfortunately, that's a PASS alarm and most likely means that a firefighter is stuck or trapped.
Not a firefighter but it still sends chills through me hearing the evac horns sound
Scary sound to hear
I was nozzleman, a probie at the time, inside a commercial building structure fire years ago. We were battling the fire from downwind. 40mph winds and snowing outside. The roof collapsed upwind from us, opening up and blowing all hell right at us. Evac horns started blaring. It was time to go. I haven't heard that sound of Evac horns in years. When it's pitch black and smokey inside, not seeing your hands in front of you and you hear this, you really don't know what's going on other than it's time to get out quick... it's an experience that stays with you. We were all fine in the end. I had good guys inside with me!
I thank you for your service!! I can say for certain as a civilian, that horn pattern terrifies me. I want to say that I'm so glad you were okay when that incident happened. The world is a better place with you in it!
After the horns we get that side view and I can see the sag on that wall. Great call to evacuate
Every time I hear this I tear up. I’m no firefighter and applaud the ones who are. These sirens would terrify me if I was in a burning building
R.I.P. Officer Rocky thank you for your service. You are now and forever a Hero. ❤ never to be forgotten. 🎾❤️💐
The eeriest sound you will ever hear as a firefighter, especially if you’re inside the structure and you’re busy battling the blaze and don’t hear the radio call
I still can’t hear this without my heart immediately going to my throat and tears welling in my eyes. My son used to be a firefighter, twice I heard this.. once they were called out to a hotel explosion they expected a mass casualty event.. my son was off but everyone was called in. I took him and helped them set up command and passed out waters etc. (busy work). My son and multiple other firefighters were inside when the roof went. The gave the Evac Warning. There were a number of VERY tense moments before everyone was accounted for and shockingly only one person lost their life, the maintenance worker for the hotel.. the other was a massive old textile mill in the middle of Carrollton, it went up and they had to call for help from multiple other departments. We were actually in town when my son spotted the smoke and went looking for the fire. We were the first call to 911. I again volunteered to help in the mobile command. The building collapsed and again they gave the Evacuation tones. Nothing can surpass that absolute gut punch not knowing where your friends and family are
Gives me chills like that mf air raid siren.
That was a scary fire we live in the townhomes just behind the fire it was scary because they sold paint and paint chemical’s ammunition l think they sold rifles and three doors away was a self service dry cleaners with cleaning fluid there were pieces of burnt debris that landed by us very scary!!
Those horns either need a cleaning or a diaphragm replacement.

Smoke alarm
No... thats the "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW!!!" alarm, because the damn building is in danger of collapsing on top of you. They're firefighters, they know theres smoke, thats kind of why they're there, to fight a fire.
It pisses me off they out rhe dogs down when rhey retire. Da f*ck. Let him like be a dog dor a couple years
This is heart wrenching to listen too. So grateful these ‘cops’ are recognized! Salute!
if you are a firefighter like myself and you hear that signal get out of the scene as quickly as possible and take defence position outside the structure or whatever your in as a first responder I've heard this and as soon as I hear it I'm out of the building with my colleagues and helping them get out as well
rip katscho
😢
These K9 are just amazing.
RIP Katscho
RIP Katscho!
My father and uncle were firefighters most of my life. There were several instances where I couldn’t sleep at night because my mother and I would watch news coverage of a fire he would be fighting, and all we could do was cry together at the idea that that could be the day he receives one of these final calls. It is so hard to know that the man who loved and raised you all your life was putting his life on the line constantly for the safety of everyone else, but at the same time, this same thing made him such an incredible hero in my eyes that I couldn’t compare him to anyone else, and it made me appreciate the time I have with him so much more and brought me closer to him. He’s the reason I myself am working towards becoming a first responder. R.I.P. David Prusa, and thank you to all the first responders in this world, we would be lost without you.
Those horn’s amaze me every single time
What the hell
It means "DROP EVERYTHING AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW!!!" because somethings wrong, whether it be a problem with the water supply, flashover risk, risk of explosion, or in this case, if i had to guess, the building is ready to collapse
R.I.P. K9 Officer Katscho! Thank you for your service!!! 😥❤😥❤
RIP K9 Katscho! Doing the Lords work. Thank you for the work you did and keeping your partner safe.
Thank you, brave pup.
And why were they doing that?
To let the interior crews know to evacuate the house without delay
Conditions have deteriorated all crews have to get out
Gtfo potential collapse imminent
Thanks in all tour sacrifice.
I lost my father in March of 1998 when I was 12 years old. They did his final call at his funeral and hearing these remind me of that moment. He was a volunteer firefighter who died on the way to a fire call. His funeral was just like the movie Ladder 49 (before it came out). He was also air national guard so he got a ride to the cemetery on the back of s fire truck while draped with the American flag. As the 21 gun salute was ringing off trauma one helicopter and an f-16 flew over the cemetery
