    Hello! I love your sweater! Have you decided what to do with the color/yarn on the sleeves yet? I am looking forward to seeing it finished! Also - I never have good luck with try-it-on-tubing! I push the needles in as hard as I can, tug to make sure it’s snug, but it still ends up coming off for me and I lose stitches. 🤷🏼‍♀️

      @@michelemarie885 thank you so much! My current plan is to work from the other end of the skein and just make the sleeves starting with the dark pink. I will see if I can get away with doing 3/4 length that way. If not, I will do short sleeve, and I think that will still look nice

    Congratulations, that is amazing. It feels so good to get it off. My tip is acupuncture. After I got out of my brace the muscles in my neck were so sore. About 6 months later my Dr sent me to acupuncture. I was unsure of it but after my second visit the muscle pain let up, it was amazing. I have now been going once a week for 7 months for all my chronic pain and it really helps.

      @@iekika5047 They're quite common where I live - I'm South African, and I love our country and all things nature. I could do without the politicians though. What crochet stitch is your blanket? I'm teaching myself crochet after being a knitter (I'm not dropping the knitting, but crochet hurts different parts so I switch between all my things to keep comfortable. I was kitting my cat a blanket using moss/seed stitch, but I think actually a crochet blanket might be nicer. (The funny thing is, this cat doesn't like being covered, but I'm making them their beds and my other girl loves being under stuff in winter and I want them to have the same setup, so Ani is getting a blanket. Maybe she'll appreciate it in her old age). P.s. My PP is of my old cat that has passed away, but I was studying vet nursing and hand reared her from 4 days old.

      @@iekika5047 Thank you. I designed myself beds for them - so I do ribbing all around and knit stitch in the middle - then on the top I knit in their name in a contrasting colour (I always use a patterned wool for the main knit). I sew batting between the knit part and stuff the ribbing parts with normal stuffing so it creates a pillow all around. They're quite big beds but the cats appreciate it because I think I live in a similar climate to you and they stretch out in the heat of summer. We're in winter now though so they're curling up. They do all love sitting on my projects, especially the cross stitich I'm doing for a friends wedding (I may have it finished for there 2nd anniversary...) or my knitting for charity blankets. I have to wash everything thoroughly to try get most of the cat hairs out! Our 1 cat (he's a black clown) also like kneeding my balls of wool and generally making a mess of them. For cosy and possibly co-op look at Dinkum. I like it because Aus and SA share quite a bit of slang and food. Plus i can relate to the biomes James used. Medieval dynasty is co op. You only need to use a bow and arrow or spear for "shooting". For an adorable form of sudoku look at sudocats. I'm a crazy cat lady, so little kitty, big city is on my radar, and quilts and cats of calico (,i believe its a board game made into a pc game) i havent bought it yet, but id love to do quilting and love cats obs. Then the people/cats that developed sudocats have another game called cats and boxes which i just want because those characters are cute! Lol. Hence still on my wishlist.

    Love the cardigan! I keep all those bits with the intention on knitting up catnip mice for our spca. Our 4 will be testers of whether i've got the right amount of 'nip and twirly tail things for fun. Good for you using a machine - i believe a top loader is pretty similar to hand wash and in SA you can use hand wash powder in a top loaders. My front loader has a wool cycle - if you can set speed and temp the try 800rpm with 30°C (i think thats 80ish in freedom units?) Guage swatching. Eish (south africanism). I'm teaching myself crochet after knitting for ages. I found very quickly with the crochet trying to make hexis not curling, that no matter how loose i went it didn’t help. Only, it took me ages and i couldnt go on auto pilot if you know what i mean. I've also realised that i didnt know how much crochet needs blocking. I knit blankets, so dont block and the only blocking i knew of was just drying jerseys flat between 2 towels. I want to knit myself a cardigan in cotton one day... and i don't think I'd guage, because my knitting im totally auto pilot and to change my tension would be hell. Plus, everyone says i have very even good tension, so i dont want to interfere with the universe on that front. I'd use the recommended size needles and if that looks wrong, frog and change needles.

    • @iekika5047
      @iekika5047 Місяць тому

      In general, I don't think the intention of gauge swatching is to change your tension. But to find the correct needle or hook size to meet the same measurements that the designer had. However, sometimes, it just doesn't work out, and is more frustrating in the end. So I get it, if you don't do it. That is really cool that you donate for the kitties. <3

    Please tell your Dr about that pain when you do have your checkup - can't remember if you said which vertebrae you injured, but your lower neck vertebrae has the nerves coming out for your arms and hands. Alternatively, it looks like your right hand clip might not have as much padding as your left, so it might be digging in? I feel so sorry for you with that brace! And I hate the irony of you saying you'd do the ride at the Gardens when your parents weren't with you because it might be rough on bad backs! I have a neuromuscular disease and sadly know the frustration of having to stop everything (even gaming) due to pain. I'm on disability, so the days of pain nearly bore me to death! Yes, I have the same working with colours I really love. Isn't there another colour way for the socks? Maybe do that 1st and then this as a reward?

    • @iekika5047
      @iekika5047 Місяць тому

      I have been in contact with my doctor about it. I did check the pads on the brace, and they are all in place. The one on the left is slightly pushed out, and maybe that adds just enough cushioning? But thank you so much for taking the time! I am sorry that you have to go through this, on the regular. It is extremely frustrating on my end, so, I can only imagine what it is like for you. There are two colors left for the socks. That is a good idea, but I think I will press on, and just look forward to using the yarn in another project.

    Concussion with amnesia is a closed head injury and should be evaluated by neurology/neuropsych if you have concerns. It happened to me several times in bike, auto, and falling accidents so mine is considered CHI (closed head injury) and CBT (cumulative brain trauma). There are lots of ways to compensate for cognitive changes once your know what your possible impairments look like. ❤ Wishing you all the best and a beautiful recovery

    The little blue stripes on the socks!! 🫠 they are so good! Can’t wait to see how they turn out! The dragon must become your knitting/crochet mascot once finished ✨ Happy knitting!

    Hi, lever back is the one you like and lobster clasp is the one you don't. If you would like to see a "daunting" blanket go see episode 184 of Noble Character Craft's podcast where Amy shows her finished afghan. She crocheted 950 squares, it's very pretty.

    There is a plaid blanket and pillow pattern by Cori Eichelberger called Pump Up The Plaid you might like. I haven't made it but thought of it when you talked about plaid.

    • @iekika5047

    • @CrojoJojo

      I've never made plaid, and you may already have thought of this, but if I were to approach a plaid project I would consider doing the main part of the plaid work then come back afterwards to embroider the finer lines both vertical and horizontal. You know how they do the little V stitches over the Vs in the stockinette stitch. That might even keep you from alot of different color changes depending on the plaid. I'm picturing like green and black large plaid with fine red lines over the top...I don't know if I'm explaining well?!
