North East United States. We get a full on winter with temps down to the negative teens. Lawn sprinkler systems and summer homes are blown out to prepare them for winter. It is only the RV and boat industry that beloved in filling lines with antifreeze.

There is a metal rod in the center. They are good till about 75% of the rod is showing. I am on season 5 and still have very little steel rod showing.

Run the pump for a few seconds once the holding tank is empty. Any water in the pump will be pushed out. Then blow out lines.

Have not had any problems. It can’t freeze if it’s not there. In my opinion it’s the best way to go.

If you start with it empty there should be very little in it when you are done. I put a gallon in the gray tank and a second gallon in the black when I am done.

Correct. With the waterline completely blown out and no water left in the lines there is no reason to fill them with that nasty antifreeze. Hope with helps you.
