I have a black 191J and I can’t figure out how to attach it to a cabinet. There are no holes for hinge pins to fit into. Instead the circular metal things are attached to the back of the machine. I know for sure it came out of a cabinet previous to my ownership. Any ideas??
I’ve since sold that machine so I can’t check it but I have a 201 and the pins on it are held in with 2 small set screws. If there are no set screws possibly the pins are just stuck in the body of the machine. You could spray some WD 40 on the area and gently try to twist and pull on the hinge and see if they will loosen up. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching!! Terry
anybody done a sound meter test?
Do you have a manual?
@@kathygill4304 sorry I don’t.
But where to buy these big wheels? Can only find the 120mm from Chinese purchaser in ebay. Can't find something like this in Europe. With what name do you search for it?
What part of Canada do you live

Just wanted to thank you for sharing your video on UA-cam. I used your idea on my Juki LU 562 and it worked great. Thanks again!!!!!
That is the smartest way I've seen anyone do the bearings
putting a lid on the bucket would help a lot. Then put the bucket inside a small insulated box with an open bottom.
😂
Nice machine. I have 9 industrial sewing machines, all have servos of different manufactures. None of them make any noise. I had one servo motor that made the same electrical growling noise, not as loud. The company sent me a new motor didn't even want the old one in return. Matter of fact I have that bad servo motor in a video I made "difference between a brushless and a brushed type servo motor".
Sure is in beautiful condition.
This is the most epic generator exhaust. If you got 5 more of these generator and put all the pipes into a 3inch pipe it would sound like flathead chris craft.
Wow thats far out. Must not be very many sewing machines with direct drive. It may seem simple at first but wow thats overly complicated to work on it and to replace parts you probably gotta take the whole thing apart. I have a merc800DR. Its a 80hp 6-cylinder mercury outboard motor with direct reverse. There is no neutral. And the entire motor spins in reverse to go backwards. Two different electric systems two sets of points in the special distributor and a bunch of other weird stuff. But no bulky gear shift in the lower unit. It was a huge flop. They only did it in one year (1963 i think.) I wonder how long they made direct drive sewing machines for before they gave up.
That looks like a great solution. However as crazy as this sounds i just priced it out. The brand new servo motor is cheeper than buying new belts pullys and pillow blocks. Its pretty crazy how cheap the servo motors are. I just ordered one for the 111w i got running. But im definitely keeping an eye out for used /free pullys and pillow blocks for the other machines i am getting back in service.
This is what you call a “restoration???” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
*Does That **_HONDA_** Generator Float? ...I see the chain. But the question remains. hahaha LOL "You go in the cage? Cage goes in the water? Sharks in the water...Fairwell and a due to you fair Spanish Ladies"...*
Haha she gets a little bath once in a while.

Very cool mod, I am thinking of pulling the trigger on this model machine as my first industrial one. Thanks for the vid, and happy to see a fellow Canadian craftsman!
Awesome
Wow! Pristine condition. I just picked up a 1966 Angler and thought it was in good condition but this thing blows the one i picked up out of the water.
Which type bobbin does this use ? Class 66 or class 15 ? Thank you
I acquired this 191j machine and I've got it working nicely but it had only 1 bobbin. I want to get at least 1 more.
Class 15.
You forgot to put the Gasket on.
Nice!
Why does your 5 1/2 have a nice white Handel...and mine is black 😓
A tip I saw on another channel was to put a coin with sticky tape behind the presser foot and wrap the thread around it to keep thread tight and freeing your hand for other tasks. The thread pulls out easily as you continue to sew
Thanks! I’ll have to give that a try!
Didnt make a noticeable difference in noise
Great tank
If it says Seiko underneath the machine, then the model is a Consew 225. The 225 does not have reverse, and the model 226 does. Both have the standard (small) bobbin.
Yes seems a lot of companies basically copied the singer 111 in those days and it becomes a little grey.
It would be interesting to do a sound test outside with and without the tubing. Go idea for sure otherwise!
Very practical setup. I like how you have the pulley reduction under the table. Thanks for sharing and cheers from a yooper.
Thanks!!
that works Great! and it looks Cool.
Hello Terry, if you don't mind me asking what type of fitting did you use to weld to the flange of the generator. I'm having a hard time with it. What type of welding method did you use. Thanks for sharing the video and it looks nice.
Hi Javier. I’m not sure the proper name of the fitting but it has a taper on one end for the flex pipe and standard pipe thread on the other end to thread into the gas supply pipe. I used a TIG welder but I would think you could braze it on too. Thanks for watching. Terry.
@@terrylevasseur2819 Thanks Terry. Really appreciate it.
I’d tig weld it, brazing properly would not hold up.
Good info!
Anyone here ever replaced the impeller? If so how hard is the job
Smaller pulleys do assist and they help by reducing speed and adding torque but the full torque an AC servo motor gives from stand still cannot be matched. They're also far cheaper to run for most.
How thick can it sew?
1/4” is all I’ve tried. Seemed fine with that.
@@terrylevasseur2819 What do you think about 3/4 of an inch, would that be possible?
@@terrylevasseur2819 around 15mm
The foot won’t lift that high. Maybe 3/8 max I would say. Sounds like you need a harness stitcher.
That is a beauty, and will last a lifetime with basic care. But, this engine requires a fuel/oil mix of 16:1. Ignore all the stupid advice about "newer oils being better", even some of the dumb advice from OMC. These engines have delicate plain rod bearings that will fail/pitch a rod if lighter mixtures are used. The amazing thing is that these old engines will hardly smoke at all, if in good tune, even at 16:1. Thankyou for keeping the original pressure tank and not buggering it up with some crappy aftermarket fuel pump set up. Take good care of this little gem
I've been monkeying around with this same idea. I have a Juki LU 1114-4 unison feed on a huge Mitsubishi needle positioner running on 3 phase 220 with a rotary phase converter. It's noisy but boy does it punch through. I think I'm going to do this exact mod. Thanks!
If you have 3phase you can get a vfd! its a variable feed driver. Can change the hertz and make the 3ph motor go any speed down to a crawl. You will need to add a fan to help keep the motor cool because it uses the same amount of electricity as full speed but dosnt have the fan on the motor shaft spinning as fast anymore.
Muy buena me gusta
Is this a Singer industrial treadle? I can't gauge the diameter of that wheel. I think that is the principle difference between the domestic and industrial treadle models - other than the corresponding size of the frames. I don't know if I could power a 96-10 that I have an eye on, on a Singer domestic treadle. Thx
It’s just a domestic treadle. I think a lot depends on what type of material you intend to sew and the speed you want. I sew mostly canvas on this one so it has the power but I do find it’s a bit fast in some situations. Thanks for watching!
guiero una de esa
I have one motor envenrude5hp don’t know what year ,I need CD COIL 2 of them
Super slow...super torque
Very nice, I wonder about using a salt water rheostat to slow down the motor. ? ? I have one of these and I always thought that it would be like a variable speed, not at all.
I have the same exact motor that I bought at a flea market. Thanks for your video , very helpful. How do you know if you have a bad water pump?
Thanks for making this video. I have a 7.5 model AD-11.
Got the same one at an auction for 40$ and it works great
How many screws are there that hold the powerhead on. There was a commercial break after you got started on the removal and I was trying to count them.
Ha now I can’t remember. It’s been a couple of years since I did that. I feel like there was 6 but that’s a bit of a guess. Thanks for watching!
Haha awesome, I had this exact idea. Glad I'm not the only genius out there.
I have my eye on one of these in my area ,they are asking 650 but I haven't pulled the trigger yet because I also looking at a REX 607 non zigzag tho for 300
The quality of those old Singers is unmatched
I thought it was getting water boarded.
Impressive - Charles Jean here - Kiambu, Kenya. I'd love to set up a similar arrangement. Kindly list out for me the various items I need to purchase. Thanks
Thanks for watching in Kenya! I don't have any part numbers but you'll need 2 pillow block bearings and a shaft of the same diameter. The small pully should be about a 2" and the large one 6-8" . the belts will have to be measured once you have it all positioned on your sewing table.
