Thank you for this! Here in Canada they run over $80 so this was very helpful in deciding if it was worth it for our family. It is cool that there is an alternative to cheap chocolate that we won't eat anyway.

Great overview of all the games! I don't have a lot of "science" themed games, but I do have a lot of "nature" themed games, which is kind of theme adjacent. My favorites are Cascadia, Meadow, and Wingspan!

I just found this review (I looked at StoryFold which a reviewer referenced this game). I am totally amazed at the plastic under the cardboard and compact component style box game ... reminds me as a lower level of Foundations of Rome in how the game itself is on trays within a box. Questions: I'd likely play solo... is solo going to be missing out on things because of the asymmetric aspect. AND ... I need to keep complexity level down and typically I'd look at the complexity rating for this and try to only look at games that are 2.5 or less ... this game is 2.84 AND table presence ... will it fit and be playable on a 36" square card table? ... AND finally ... if I get this game, should I get the first edition? It seems like BGG shopping has people selling the first edition and listing two of the expansions - which means they were included in the game itself? I see a 2nd edition scheduled for 2025 too. Sorry for so many questions :)

Wish they used real constellations. Was wanting to get this to help teach them to my kids.

That was a really great review. I love the pieces and the cards - somehow I kept missing the shiny card thing!! But that would be very cool to have holographic cards ! I would love this game. I wonder if it would be too slow with more than 2 players? what do you think? Thank you so much folks - you are the best!!

Perfect timing for this themed game! That board though right away makes me think of Settlers of Catan! I love how they incorporated the cube roller with the box so cool!

Great review, also love those bloopers at the end - it shows there is more work while filming.

Tip 6 You will have characters die... Sometimes the game will tell you that the situation/mission is dire and risk of death is high, or an exploration may go way wrong/ Do not be afraid of death (you get benefits when someone dies and you add them to your Memorial Wall) However sometimes a particular character fits you die pool or play style well and you want to keep them alive if a character has two wounds think about evacuation or leaving the planet - the risk of of death with three wounds is high. Remember crew can assist injured characters heal. Also on some planets, where injury is an issue, abilities to mitigate wounds can be critical and make the difference between success and evacuation or death. You will have characters die, add them to your memorial wall, get the benefits and celebrate their glorious demise.

This was the first rulebook that I really really enjoyed learning… it’s long but it’s a journey… I just bought this game for 15€… 😮omg… what a game …

I have heard that some combat situations are quite tedious and repetitive, with some situations whereby a character will pass on combat or choose not to attack, and separately, magic is not well represented. It is really competing with Lands of Evershade from Awaken Realms coming up later this year.

In my youth i spent a lot of time playing the pen and paper rpg "The Dark Eye", which is as popular here in Germany as d&d is elsewhere.They also use the same D20 logic with 1 being a critical hit/success so i'm used to it :D How is the story compared to gloomhaven , in terms of volume?
