    I love this subscription and I’m at a point where I want to explore the higher end of specialty coffee after almost three years of becoming a hobbyist so the timing could not be better I have two tiny suggestions: 1) on the site I’d love to be able to see how much of each coffee we’ll be getting. Since it varies so much between these coffees I’d love to know beforehand. This is something I can’t find on the site at the moment but really plays a big role in my decision about subbing up. 2) I’d love to be able to choose BETWEEN bag 1 and bag 2, rather than choose to get 1 OR two bags as is done with the other subscriptions. With this subscription I think it would be nice were there three options - namely bag 1, bag 2, or both. This way if say bag 1 is 100g and bag 2 is 200g and I’d prefer 200g I can choose bag 2 instead of having to choose both to get bag 2. Other factors such as preference in flavour profiles can also play a role in this regard - bag one is an anaerobic and bag 2 is a washed for example, that might play a role in whether I rather want bag 2 over bag 1. If this isn’t possible due to the amount of crop you have of each for example (say you have less of bag 2’s coffee and would rather give it to a smaller group for example), then it makes sense. However it would be nice since I for one can’t afford the two bag option just yet (cons of being a student :’) ) Altogether I absolutely love the BoB subscription and I’m likely going to make a permanent switch over from the curated subs box You guys nailed the concept - much love as always ❤

    Can i use this recipe for any other light roast on a v60 or is this just for this microlot on an April brewer?

      This is a great starting point for any light roast on the April. We would adjust on a V60 to compensate for the shape of the bed. The 5 pour method is our go to on V60 :)

      @@BluebirdCoffeeRoastery I actually did find their website and pre-ordered it--they say it ships around May 20. I'm going to email them and ask if the $20 extra for expedited shipping is for air as opposed to by boat--with my luck I will get get a slow boat from China (Taiwan actually). (Did you get the play on words?). By the way, for many years I had an outdated world globe that labeled Taiwan as Formosa, which is what it used to be called for centuries before, I don't know, World War l. It's a Portuguese word that means beautiful island, I think.

    This was the exact review I was looking for. I left the coffee industry a while ago and I think I'm just really looking for that La Marzocco feel/workflow I'm used to. Flow control is very tempting to play with, but if I'm completely honest I don't think I have the time (and maybe I'm all geeked out at this point).

    I got one. The answer is a definite no, don’t buy this piece of crap. I get readings all over the place for the same sample resulting in extraction yields from 18-21% for the same sample. Save your money.

      Super interesting, we haven’t had the same issue. Just wondering if it’s a unit issue. Maybe reach out to DiFluid. We don’t sell them and have no skin in the game - ours has just been pretty consistent.

    I've had my 078 for about 2 months now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm making the best pour over coffee of my life. If it had an ionizer for controlling static, it would be pretty much perfect.

    So how do you get the most (crema.) out of a light blend? And with the Micra, what temperature do you want to set it for light blends?

      The pursuit of crema isn’t a focus for us. We are looking for a tasty, balanced extraction. 95C boiler temp would be a good starting point :)

    ooofff that is a short distance wit a scale... I have the exact same scale, how high is that cup you are using? since it's the maximum height as far as i can see with the plastic spouts. Thanks!

      There isn’t a whole lot of clearance but for double shots there is sufficient space for most “cafe style” cups.

      We like the Hario Slim Mill as an entry level hand grinder but there are so many great options! Comandante is our hand grinder of choice.

    Great vid Dario. I use the Fellow Ode grinder and generally grind on a 2 or 3 for a pour-over (7 for a french press for comparison). Do you recommend coarser?

      Hi Rich, I don’t have any experience with the Ode so I can’t make clear suggestions. I will say that if you follow this recipe and your brew times are over 3:30, try going coarser :)
