I dunno, I just really miss how scrappy old Overwatch was compared to this. Where it felt like you actually entered a back and forth instead of a definite win or loss. Old Overwatch characters were designed around having a high risk and high reward. Genji, Reaper, Winston, Tracer, you just commit to what you're doing by entering the fray and doing the best you can to sync up what enemies you fight. But OW2 is catering to this very boring playstyle where characters get a very inordinate amount of leverage for the amount of engagement they need. Widow can one shot you from whole maps away. All ana has to do is sit in her backline and no one can touch her. They get rewarded for minimal interaction. It's unfun to play WITH too. Weaver waits around and opens himself up to flank. Ashe will tunnel vision opening themselves up to flank. I just want to engage. And if I decide to play the game, I'm at a net disadvantage cause the enemy has less to target.

I felt every word you said. OW had such a special place in a my heart and I would have so much fun. I just couldn’t, I tried but OW2 didn’t feel the same, I played it till January and then finally I decided to stop playing. I just hope they bring back OW or at least just bring 6v6.

I was basically a Sym 2.0 one trick for this game, nothing was ever as good as she was. Popping a personal shield in front of a High Noon and throwing some turrents down at his feet while the animation finishes, surviving because the shield takes the hit, and then winning out over a duel someone used their literal ultimate on with just your basic kit? You can't make drugs that hit better than that. I miss the character gameplay I fell in love with, but the newer iterations of Sym are so different it's night and day. Nothing is the same. I never even bothered trying OW2 because there just wasn't any point.

This was a good video I share a lot of your sentiments especially the loving a character I love zen his whole vibe his kit I love it but I can’t always play zen so I learnt to be proficient in at least 4 other supports and I used to play tank but you know how miserable that is now but I don’t it’s just a counter picking tank bullying fest I want 6v6 back just to play tank

My main reason i hate Overwatch 2 is the 5 vs 5, i hated Blizzard when they changed Overwatch to 5 vs 5, i still think that 6 vs 6 its a waaaay infinite better than 5 vs 5, Blizzard deceived us all by saying that 5 vs 5 is much better and more dynamic & fun than 6 vs 6....LIARS, but for me its not, it just made the game worse and frustrating, its not fun! Has many people say......in 5 vs 5 if the tank sucks or dies your team its on a big disadvantage and there is nothing you can do about it 5 vs 5 its not fun, at least in 6 vs 6 you had 2 tanks and if one tank dies or is bad the other one could still do something about it to fill that gap or disadvantage, in 5 vs 5 in most of the matches are soo chaotic, 90% of the tank players dont stop dying all the time, just diving like crazy. I really miss Overwatch 1, Blizzard should have keep working on it instead of releasing OW2 wich it was a stupid idea, they never bringed PVE and PVP got worse and frustrating with 5 vs 5.

Interesting video :) Few thaughts : first, you know, the stats... 🙄 If you know decently the game, you know if you do well or not. Stats have to be put in context. For exemple, I can have 10 000 damage as soldier if I shoot the tank all game. But my mate Reaper with 5000 damage can have been way more usefull. For exemple if his damage was dealt destroying 2/3 people in the backline at each fight ;). Ypu can hace 0 death, but I prefer to have 10 death and be the pne thanks to who the objectiv was captured and the win secured ;).

The reasons are simple. The game has changed and we grew older. Blizzard has done an incredibly poor job at managing this game and the love the devs used to have died quite a bit, similarly to the love players have for the game in turn

I'm a solo player, like around 1.5k hours since OW2 release over a few accs. Blizzard banned my main account back in May. After I hit masters on dps and support last year, then I quit the game and came back after half a year and lost that account anyway. People would mass report me because I'm trans and the way I sound on voice chat. Started a different account, and alts and they're all hardstuck plat/diamond and I don't get it. All season 11 and season 12 so far, my rank on my new main hasn't budged from diamond 5ish. Every game is extremely toxic, horrible match maker balance, the % I gain and lose every match was strange. Like I'd lose most of my games against plat players that I am better than, but I'd not lose that much %, and then I'd gain more % on my wins, so I'd have a negative winrate and still keep the same rank. Like I'm being used by blizzard to give bad players free wins or something. Then the entire game is a cash shop, hundreds of dollars wasted on skins and battlepasses. Counter swapping being a massive issue. Everyone try harding so bad now. Somehow I'm sitting plat 2 on support last night, fighting masters players after reset. A hundred games later, I had enough and uninstalled, typed some stuff in chat and alt f4'd mid game and now it's gone off my PC. I hate this game. I hate everything about it. I hate the 5v5, the counter picks, the cosmetic money grab, the devs, the abused report system, the aesthetics of the game, everything everything everything.

Hah, yesterday I tried OW again after years of avoiding it. It has been fun and fresh for me, but I play on mid skill rank so that might influence it.

Yeah i feel a similar way I never actually played overwatch 1 but i planned to buy it because it looked fun and i wanted to try out some other hero shooter other then tf2 (my favorite multiplayer game of all time), then they shut down overwatch 1 before i was able to buy it but overwatch 2 was going to come out so i didn't see it as a big loss When overwatch 2 came out i tried it, and i mind as well because it was free, and i was extremly dissapointed to say the least My first few matches were the most unfun expirience i have ever had in a multiplayer game The shop has some insane prices There was no promised PvP, only a shell of what was promised The tank role is awful to play and to fight ect... The game that i wanted to play for so long became something i don't think i want to touch ever again It's sad what happend to the game that looked like it had so much soul Well i guess it's back to the good old Team Fortress 2

I play ow2 but I could tell that overwatch one was way more fun I played 6v6 custom game and man did it feel less stressful playing tank and I didn’t get absolutely bombed in the chat because I’m just trying to enjoy the game

I played overwatch 1 a whole lot, i got more then 1500 hours into Ana in overwatch 1. But when i played the open beta of ow 2, i already missed the second tank and this was before the release of ow 2. Im not a GM ranked player like you are, but my experience as support and specially as Ana, is that people bully you as Ana player in Ow 2. And their is a reason why i love Ana, because when she got released, i was a Mercy Main and i remember joining the map Dorado and Mercy was taken and people truly encouraged me to play Ana, while i had no experience with her at all. Thats when i became an Ana main becaue of the Community this game use to have, but today, it somewhat feels like a toxic wasteland were everyone blames eachother and never truly work together as a team, specially in a rank like gold. People run off more then ever, they dont stay as team let alone play as team and i feel like with ow 2 they truly took down teamplay with it. Because, it feels like people just wanna deal damage and dont really want to play as a team and what i noticed the most, is the fact that its so rare these days to truly have an Equal Match up in Competitive Play. Its mostly stomp or be stomped. Top that off with the fact, that i think 5v5 is the main reason why the game feels unbalanced, its not the Heroes at all. Cause maps are designed with 6v6 in mind and in 5v5, that sure might create more room for dps heroes, but it also creates an unbalanced factor on those maps. Sadly, they currently keep buffing and nerfing heroes and the balance is still no where to be found, mainly due to the fact that 5v5 is whole soul reason why its unbalanced. I think with the Tank Changes they did in Ow 2, would have been Amazing in a 6v6 format, i truly believe in that. Great video and i feel your pain in this one, cause 5v5, took down the soul that Overwatch 1 had with Overwatch 2 🥲

Game was made for a casual fun and then was hijacked by esport forced by the higher ups, and eventually molded into a competitive focused sweaty hellscape of today. Now the only way to "have fun" is to find a coordinated team and push through the ranks. Thats what the game is now, don't play how you want, play how the game expects you to. If you wanna try to be yourself, both the game and the players will push you back.

I feel you, got the game for my ps4 first and loved it. I even bought it again to play on pc even tho i couldnt run it at the time. Now ow2 just doesnt feel the same 😭 i miss those ow1 days... I absolutely hate how the game was treated

mercy wasnt my main but i was one of the few gm flex support player that liked her old movement, ow2 made her so unfun and boring i hate it no one asked for this change

I feel the same way with Apex and Ow2 i love those games yet it starting to feel off the more seasons comes the players got better and i didn't want to compete anymore. I been playing The first descendants have a blast

I get exactly where you're coming from but for me it's mostly I've worked on my addiction and I've slowed down how much I play but I just never have anyone to play with I'm constantly solo queuing and to anyone that knows solo queuing support is one of the hardest things in this video game all my friends quit and it makes playing feel so lonely because the game feels lonely the cozyness is gone from when I started in 2017

As someone who quit Overwatch right before Role queue was implemented, I miss the old Overwatch.

You told my entire story word by word... From getting the game on console in middle school to moving on pc to making overwatch friends and feeling the game get worse despite playing with friends. Only difference being is that I used to main tank and now I can't stand playing the role :( So as someone who is also stuck in the limbo here are a few solutions: -Try to 6v6 custom game mode. A lot of discord servers host 6v6 which feel a lot better than both the original ow1 and current ow2. -Try singleplayer games. Coop games with friends especially. So many good games out there that don't focus on infuriating you. -Just move on. Overwatch sucks and the devs aren't really focusing on how to make the game more fun compared to making it more profitable. Better waste the time and money elsewhere where it matters :D

started playing the game in 2022 when i finally got my new computer after being a long fan of the game and the characters, well my first years exprience were fine before i got trapped to the money traps of cusomizable items and skins.. and ofc the euw toxic players such as frenchie "ftg" players (btw ftg means stfu in french and it is unreportable so they have like a way to run away and provoke your mood to say stuffs) and the spanish trolls who spam "kkkkkkk" whenever they die by purpose, the people who hunt for egirls and date ingame by spamming hello emote and do emotes and say in chat "anyone is a girl here" the game feels like a virtual dating site than an enjoyable game where you try to play with your own skills, the enemy team trash talks the whole team by calling them bots for being too easy to defeat (ofc you get your match trolled and they call it ez) in past "x diff" "play safe" weren't reportable now they are (because of saying "support diff" in many matches lost, even calling myself diff got me banned perma from the game) you hop to play and finish that stupid battlepass in a hurry but because of playing mutliple matches and receiving reports for each like let's say 20 matches, you get suspended for it even if you don't insult where the message is censored for that, also never told someone to off themselves... yet you get banned for diffing.. game is relying on AI i'm expecting it to rely on ai fully once they kick out the artists and developers and start automating their jobs and make the game much worse.. otherwise i hated overwatch for the balance system, i expected it to be better since i've been wanting to play the game since i saw the first trailer but wasn't old enough or even having a quality computer that supports it, when i worked on commissions in 2020 to 2021 summer, i got my gaming laptop, when overwatch 2 released i tried the game, i liked it at the training course, but discovered it is terrible when i saw the game throwers and frenchies spamming "ftg" even if you say just "hello new to the game" just like this "ftg, reported!" i played around i liked the skins and such, the battlepass and exclusivity is what lured me to the money trap where the money i'm supposed to save for projects and such got wasted in overwatch battlepass and few limited skins.. thank goodness it was just 85$.. yesterday got banned so far and ofc no specified reasons, message from game master "AI" the same replicated message all the time, banned for diffing least i know.. possibly even reported for gg.. the game feels like a chore now, a terrible game with bad balance, bad matchmaking, the real toxicity isn't handled well but instead kicks the ones who callout about it, predatory microtransactions, 6v6 removed, leaving penalties, noting that i used to leave the game if i spot toxic behaviour within my team or i see the team throwing or trying to date in a match instead of a costume lobby but with the punchiments of leaving being forced this year it became worse, like forces you to stay with bad environment and loose your mood when you get sent to the bad lobbies three times in a row

for me its the unfairness ... when my team does crap , i loose too even though i myself did a lot , im sure everyone had those game ... 31 kills , 24k healing with moira and 3 deaths for example ... highest stats in match and then u still loose and u get NOTHING !! bc ur damn team looses bc they were idiots !! doesnt make sense ... makes u believe u dont belong with the rest of these idiots but are stuck there

I used to play bastion and a couple tanks in the first game. Bastion is fundamentally a different character now and tanks just arent fun to play in 5v5

I can genuinely agree with this honestly. I am currently in my quitting era and I've been on this game since day 1 of its release and it doesn't feel the same anymore. For me, 5v5 and 6v6, stats or none of the main game stuff mattered. What really took my toll was the amount of times I had to hear the constant FOMO riding of "This game is back again" and "We're so back" stuff. We lost PvE (sure. we cant have nice things) The Patch Notes weren't lining up (Some characters kept getting a weird tun up or toned down when not needed) Characters needed a constant fix or change in kit to be well suited for the 5v5 (which could have been done whilst the game was in development) Casual vs Competitive players would never meet eye to eye and it was always such a toxic battlefield that neither can agree on Its somewhat upsetting when people can't just play to have fun anymore and I feel like this comes in the form of free to play accessibility and the lack of open play between all platforms (switch being a barren wasteland, Xbox actually being somewhat decent to play and Playstation community is toxic as all hell and im from PS). Its amazing that its accessible by default but now EVERYONE just magically gains a "I know everything because I won a single game" just urks me. If I paid some good cash for the game, I wouldn't have to worry about a Reinhardts hammer being $53 CAD. Its FP2 so the additional Microtransactions can happen and its just so rough. At the end of the day, everyone experience is their own. Mine is slowly diluting to where I am better off playing a different game than Overwatch 2
