If I’m not mistaken, both Stephanie and Wendy were murdered by the same serial killer.

I’ve watched this numerous times; I am always so impressed with the way Mary Stuart moves. the clip has a mid to late 1970s look to it. That is nearly 3 decades on the air with MS clearly front and center as the show’s main character.

Another showcase for Mary Stuart's considerable musical talents.

Mary Stuart and Maree Cheatham were two of the most amazing actresses in daytime TV. Search for Tomorrow in the 1970’s was some of the best days of soap opera. Why did we have to drift away from the way we were?

Mary Stuart had such a lovely voice.

I liked jo and stu. After search ended thanks to the dummies at proctor and gamble. Mary Stuart would go over to guiding light. And actor Larry Haines would go over to another world where he would play an old friend of Ada played by Connie Ford to bad there characters didn't become love interest. After Charlie died Ada would never remarry. Which is like in reallife for some people. Mary did a pretty good job as the new meta Bauer. Proctor and gamble was always anti soap opera that's why they foolishly threw away there best written soaps like another world Texas search for tomorrow guiding light as the world turns the edge of night etc what a shame

Oh, wow! Mom and I (I was just turning 8 at the time) were at my grandparents’ on a Friday and SFT was one of her “stories.” It was the day Tony fell down the steps and I said we had to watch on Monday to see what happened. Long story short, we both got hooked…I loved the Jennifer/Scott/Kathy triangle (partly because I was in love with a boy in my class named Scott😘 ) and Mom ended up watching it till the day it went off the air!

Imagine a scene lasting 6 minutes on television these days. Impossible. God bless my mentor, Mary Stuart!

Lovely song and sweet vocals. Looks like Mary Stuart is lip syncing to her recording. Too bad they didn't let her sing live on tape in this episode. Never mind Y&R is celebrating its 50th. SFT, GL, ATWT, EON, LOL, AW and OLTL should all still be on.

Great actors with unfortunate dialogue.

Mary gave me private acting coaching and helped me with some songs, too. One of my first cabaret shows in NYC circa 1985 included her song, "Tiny Band of Gold." I'll never forget her blowing me a kiss from the audience. It was a rather audacious song choice for a guy in his early 20s, but Mary helped me sell it!

Mary was my mentor for many, many years and that monologue has her fingerprints all over it. She could have written it about her own block on the Upper East side or her country Connecticut home. A bonus to see our pal Marcia, in there, too. Thanks for the post.
