I’ve been hoping for a longer term review of this bike. I’m looking to get one but don’t want to spend 2k on something I’d regret. Thank you for taking the time to make this!
I love how you captured your bike riding experience using the drone and 2nd view cameras. 😀 Would you recommend this to someone who is 5'4 feet or a little shorter?
Hi Penelope. Thanks for watching the video! I appreciate the feedback. Someone 5’4” could ride this bike if you are cautious when getting on and off. My wife is able to ride the bike at 5’2”, but it does take some effort on her part. I probably would not recommend it for anyone below 5’4”. It may not look like it on camera, but this bike is surprisingly large in person and it weighs 105 LBS with both batteries installed.
For riders 5’4” and below, you may want to check out a competitor of Wired’s that has a 24” x 4” version for shorter riders as well as the standard 26”x4”. The company is called Escape Electric Bikes. The Outlaw model is very similar to the Wired Freedom. I believe the Outlaw is available in a Step through version for an extra $100. I hope this helps.
Thank you for doing this video in class. 2 period I typically use an electric bicycle, like most people use a car because I'm not able to drive, so it's about the closest I'll get. Period I was wondering about the range in class 2, with the way to the bike and heavier rider. This was very helpful. Most of the videos I've seen on this bike are unlocked and going as fast as they can.
Hi @Jefferyritz2740. Thanks for watching the video. I’m glad you found it helpful. I was really happy being able to squeeze out 90 miles, especially when Wired claimed range is 80+ miles. Definitely one of the most challenging videos that I have made, but totally worth it!
90 miles is the most I’ve seen on a bike so far. The video was very helpful. It clearly demonstrates the full power of the dual batteries and even with the heavier machine it’s got the power to go the distance. Thank you again for doing that video 90 miles is a long way and takes quite a while so I appreciate your dedication to seeing it through. Thanks again.
I loved your video. I am going to purchase a new ebike. I am really interested in the Wired bike. It seems to be a good bike. My Granddaughter is interested in one, she is about 300lbs. I think it would be a good bike for her. I like carbon belt bikes. They are easy to ride, and require less maintenance. I am 75, and like to keep things simple. Thank you for the video.
Hi Randall. Thanks for watching the video! Keeping things simple is good. I don't think you can go wrong with the Wired bikes. They focus on a single motor and now a dual motor bike and they do it well. If you are interested in looking at a close competitor, you might want to check out Escape Electric Bikes in Augusta, Geogia. They have a very similarily spec'd single motor bike called the Outlaw and the Outlaw Plus for a similar price and free shipping. More options available to customize your bike. I was so impressed that I reached out to Joel (the owner) and hope to review one of his bikes soon.
On Cloud 9 seat, which model did you go with, Suspension Cruiser Saddle / Airflow / Anatomical?
Hi Andrew. Thanks for watching the video. I went with the Cruiser Select Airflow CS. Here is the link to the Cloud 9 website: cloud-9.bike/collections/cloud-9-saddles-and-covers/products/cruiser-select-airflow-cs
wot about the motots,do you have to put lube on the gears etc
Thanks for the comment @1ozcaffine. I haven’t had to yet, but that is a very good question. I need to contact Wired and see when they recommend re-Lubing the gears.
CAN YOU BUY EXTRA BATTERYS FOR THE BIKE
Hi Andy-yes. You can buy one on Wired’s website for $800.00. Unfortunately, batteries are the most expensive component.
Great video has made my mind up on getting the wired bike. I just had one question what kind of camera did you use to film your video?
Thank you for watching the video @raw71660! I use an insta360 X4 action camera with an invisible selfie stick. I love the way you can film in 360 degrees so you never miss the perfect shot because your single lens camera only has one point and shoot lens where this one has 2 lens. In post editing, you can move the camera all the way around using the Insta360 software. BTW-Does the “71660” in your tag happen to stand for your birthday? Just curious because if so, we were born on the same day. The odds of that being the case is probably too high.
I don’t think you can go wrong if you decide to buy this bike. It is so much fun to ride. If you are interested in looking at another option, I recently discovered another 60v 1500W bike from Escape Electric Bikes out of Georgia. They have a similarly spec’d bike called the Outlaw and Outlaw Plus with free shipping. They offer a lot of options to customize. I was so impressed that I reached out to the owner (Joel) about helping him get the word out. They also sell 2 different dual motor versions for even more power.
You have the best videos. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks so much for watching @scoopthereal2353! I really appreciate the feedback!
I do miss the desert there! My wife's Aunt still lives in Cave Creek. I need to bring my Wired Cruiser down and ride some trails.
Hi @slamb68. Your wife’s Aunt lives in a great area for riding and anything else for that matter. I have it on my list to film a video in the Cave Creek/Carefree area. Love that area!
how you like the new tires?
Thanks for watching the video Shane. Love the tires! Best accessory I have purchased for the bike so far! I now have about 1000 miles on them and I’m yet to have my 1st flat tire.
Quality video very informative. I have the same 2024 Wired Crusier Plus in black, same upgraded tires and turn signals too. Received it in July and have 800+ miles. I have the same reaction as you when riding this bike, the speed, power and the comfy ride. I've had it up to 275 degrees and 44 mph on a 5'9" 190 lb frame. You have extraordinary taste Zonie!
Right back atcha Paul. They say great minds think alike. I really appreciate the feedback! This is a great all around bike. I’m glad to hear you are having as much fun on this bike as I am!
How have your turn signals worked for you? I have a different kind and thought I may try the ones you use.
Thanks watching the video @Islandlifespi. To be honest, not as well as I had hoped. I liked the concept better than the performance. It is possible I may have gotten a defective set that requires to much turning off and on of the individual lights. They seem to time out of sequence with the remote too soon.
I received mine four days ago and have riding it about twenty miles. I bought the cruiser and I definitely have one thing to say! I love the ride and performance of the bike but I have one thing that people need to know. I'm tall like you, I'm 61yrs old and 6'4" and 275lbs and want people know, this bike is not easy to get on and off of. I rode dirt bikes and street bikes too, I'm talking motorcycles and I also have a big 29" beach cruiser so I have experience. The step through is very high and if you have big feet like me you can't get your foot between the rear shock mount and frame and I personally can't lift my foot over it and continually catch my foot there and it's just a matter of time before my foot gets stuck and I go down. So I have to throw my leg over the seat and rack to get off which means I can't carry anything on the back rack. Also I use the street curb to get on and sometimes I just slide straight off the back over the rack. It's a pain getting on and off!
Thanks for watching the video @blivit195cm3. You make a good point about the step through concerns. You do need to be cautious when you get on and off the bike. I’m not sure, but I think foot/leg clearance was the main reason Wired has a suspension link in the middle of the down seat tube, trying to give another 1-2 inches of clearance. there has been times when didn’t lift my foot high enough to clear the rear shock and nearly did a face plant.
@EnergizedZonie Thanks for the reply. Oh I hear you! I caught my size fourteen foot shoe in there getting on and almost went down. I have a question for you if you don't mind? Do you have any recommendations for a good helmet? I have bought some accessories like a new very nice padded seat and the side mirror and I bought wireds front bag. I also bought a really good Abus lock. I live in San Diego and it's pretty sketchy on the roads here so I need a good helmet. I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Hi @blivit195cm3. I could recommend the 2 helmets I purchased. The one I’m wearing in the video is the ILM helmet. I use it most of the time when it’s warm outside or when I’m filming. I found it to be one of the less expensive option made for these higher speed e-bikes with an NTA 8776 rating (up to 28 MPH) for under $100. The other helmet I bought was a full face modular that is actually DOT rated for motorcycle use. I used it when the weather is cooler. I am including Amazon links to both helmets, along with a really cool wireless Bluetooth headset I bought for the full face helmet. I paid less than $100 for the full face helmet and around $30 for the headset. If you want to see these 3 items, I did an accessories video that goes into more detail. Adult Modular Motorcycle Helmet DOT w/Retractable Sunglass Full Face Flip-up Typhoon TH158: a.co/d/05FhSUR FEYA Motorcycle Helmet Speakers with Dual Noise Reduction/Call Music Control/Siri/IPX6: a.co/d/1kHLqBP ILM Smart Bike Helmet Brake Warning LED Light Control NTA8776 CE CPSC Triple Certification Adult Bicycle Casco Men Women: a.co/d/03nef8D
Great video ! I love real world range tests. I've been trying to decide between the Wired Cruiser and the E-Cells Step Star and this video is very informative. Keep up the good work! PS, what do you have attached to your handlebars?
Thanks for watching the video @bonnandchristine. I really appreciate the feedback. That’s a tough choice between Wired Cruiser and the E-Cells Step Star. There is also another competitor in this market. Escape Electric Bikes has a model called the Outlaw with very similar specs and some upgraded components for a similar price. I think you might be reffing to the invisible selfie that you can see in the shadows, but not in the shot. If so, it’s a camera mounting device that disappears when filming in 360 degree mode with the Insta360 camera. Great camera system for filming action video.
Great bikes. Be safe out there
Thanks for watching the video @brett7740.
Nice 1k review
Thanks for watching the video Richard! I look forward to watching your 1000 mile review video on your Cruiser.
@ you bet!
Nice ride!
Thanks for watching Richard! This video was a fun one to make.
Hope to get this bike soon, i currently have a letric xp2.0 with 11000 miles on it. Excited about the upgrade.
I had the same Lectric XP 2.0 in 2020/2021 and now have the same 2024 Wired Crusier Plus. It's like a night and day difference and you're going to love it!
@paulketchum6819 kind of like the Cruiser in brown. Still enjoy the 2.0 tho
Thanks for commenting on the video @cmoregreen3979. Wow! 11,000 miles of range and counting on the XP 2.0 is pretty awesome. I think that speaks to just how good the Lectric bikes are made. If you get one of the Wired bikes or one of their 60v competitors bikes that are very similar, you will have the best of both worlds. You can always turn down the power on the Wired bikes by leaving them in Class 2 mode or adjust the motor power assist % levels lower on each individual PAS level in the advanced settings, but you can’t turn up the power to 40 MPH on the XP 2.0 when you feel like a burst of adrenaline. Plus that rear air shock makes a huge difference in smoothing out the ride.
My Lectric xp 2.0 had 2,400 miles on it, received my Cruiser two weeks ago and WOW, you will LOVE IT! 45.1 mph is what I achieved going down a slight downhill. I am 5'8". The small seat tube was too short for full length extension while riding and the longer tube was too tall. So I took a pipe cutter and took 2" off of the longer tube, now I can adjust it perfectly. Also, if you have the larger Lectric basket, it works perfectly on the rear rack of the Wired Cruiser. I took two small strips of packing foam that came with the new bike. Cut the foam into two very thin strips the width of the rear rack long tubing. I wrapped black electrical tape over the foam and sides of the Wired rack tubing to cover the foam completely. I did this so when the Lectrik metal basket sits on top of the Wired Cruiser rear rack, it would cushion it and it would be noiseless when hitting bumps as there would be no metal to metal contact or rattling. I then zip tied the rack in place using about 12-14 black zip ties so as to not drill holes in the Wired rack. It works perfectly and carries a lot of stuff, still within the 50lb weight limit of the rear rack. Let me know how you like your new bike when you receive it! Also, the Altec Lansing Jolt 2 bluetooth speaker is perfect for the front handlebars and the included handlebar bracket for the speaker allows you to hang the speaker below the display screen so you can have music when riding.
Nice review. I was anti Wired till I saw your review and now I may consider it as my second ebike. I also changed my tires on my ebike but got the Ultraverse with tire liners and flat out but still got a flat but made it home. I also have the same blinkers 😀and I have the briskmore mirrors and love them so I got 2nd pair for regular bike. I lost a mile per hour on speed and a little range because of the tire change but I feel more confident
Wired definately had some growing pains, which I mostly attribute to breaking new ground but they do seem to always sort out those growing pains. The Freedom had most of them so the Cruiser was fortunate enough to get mostly sorted out, but theres still some things I dont love but I forgive easily with the not increasing the price point even post 301 Tariff expiration. Im not a fan of how ecells ran smear campaigns against wired over the freedom wobble (again the joy of breaking new ground) but ecells does have a better rear rack design, oh and bottle rack holes.
Thanks for commenting on the video @falconmoon2880 & @Whoadayson. I believe the Ultraverse are the same tires, just branded different. This was the best upgrade I made to this bike so far. Like you, I also sacrificed a little sipped and range, but totally worth it. I think you did it right. Liners and FlatOut is the way to go to better protect you from flats. Growing pains is a good way to describe it. Wired is trying to adapt and make their components a little better as they apply lessons learned. Agreed-Keeping that price point at a steady $2000 must be difficult maintain with the tariffs.
on the bike wobbling, they have started shipping the Visco Hellbender with the bike. However, it does not come already installed(not sure why they didn't install at the manufacturer. This device prevents this wobbling, but you will have to have it professionally installed at a bike shop who knows what their doing
Hi Richard-Luckily, after rechecking my headset, turns out it was shipped with a Visco Hellbender.
i have my pedal assist 1 at 8% and 2 at 15% i can get close to 100 mile range using using those settings, i also pedal using no assist whenever i can i dont have hills where i live its mainly flat in southeasten WI
Hi @freightdawg6762. 100 miles of range is awesome! You must get a great workout when you pedal with no assistance? These are great all around, do it all bikes. So many options to fit different riding styles.
@@EnergizedZonie its really not too bad on level ground with no assist when my legs start to burn i kick on the power thats whats so awesome about these bikes love the channel
I'm a subscriber and fellow Cruiser owner. May I ask what pedal assist mode you were in within the first minute of the video. With a cadence sensor my e-bike usually wants to take off quickly. Did you perhaps lower the speed limit?
Hi Jody-Thanks for watching the video. I was mostly in PAS 1. Yes, I did lower the power assist % in each of the 5 PAS levels from the factory settings. It took me a few tries to find the “sweet spot” on the PAS % settings. I lowered PAS 1 to only 12% (from 20% set at the factory) of the motor power. For me, getting PAS 1 dialed in is the most important.
@ thanks very much. I’ll do the same on my e-bike.
What kind of camera/video equip are you using? I assume a drone with following enabled in the beginning. It looks like from the shadow that you have a selfie-stick with a go-pro? The weird thing is I can't see the stick on the bike, but only in the shadow. TIA
Hi @iambriguy. Thanks for watching the video. I use an Insta360 X4 camara with a disappearing telescopic selfie stick. The selfie stick disappears in the stitching of the 2 camera lens. Awesome camera that allows you a lot of different angles to play with. You can actually spin the camera in post (after the fact) using the software, so you never miss a shot. Yes, I use a DJI mini 4 Pro with the follow function set to auto. This allows the drone to maneuver around you automatically to catch different angles. I’ve had the drone over a year, but this is the 1st time I used it in one of my videos. I’m not sure why I waited so long.
Wow, I had no idea the Mini 4 Pro (or any DJI dro es) had a follow function that would do more creative moves other than just simply following from behind. I thought maybe you had the Skydio? Anyway, cool shots!
Flat out not only helps on small thorns. I got a one inch screw in my rear tire on a long ride. I do not know how long I rode with the screw. It was a 20 mile ride. The next day as I did a precheck ride I found the screw. The tire was fully up and only went down when I pulled out the screw. I am sold on flat out. After that patch and putting in more flat out I have gone another 400 miles without losing any air.
Thanks for watching Robert! Wow! Your tube and tire survived a 1” screw. That is great to know! Agreed. That FlatOut is amazing.
Just subbed, nice job on the video, very high quality in terms of production and solid information on this bike which I'm considering Cheers 🍻
Thank you @Destinationfawked! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. There are more and more of these 60v bikes coming out. We all benefit when completion is this strong.
🥳❤💯💢💥💫👍👍👍
Thanks for watching the video Bill!
So Ive noticed for awhile now that you have very clear audio especially for someone cruising down the road on a bike, BUT I thought you had maybe a motorcycle helmet with integrated comms, but now I see you have no helmet that comes close to your mouth, nor a BT mic that I can see. How you doing that? Is audio thru the X4 (is that an X4?). Or are you doing it mostly in SW? Thanks for any info!
Hi @Whoadayson. Thanks for the comment. I do use an X4 camera and a DJI Mic 2 transmitter & receiver combo. I won’t bore you with all the nerdy details, so here’s the short version. I attach the receiver to the X4 w/an adapter so I can use the noise cancelling feature. The wireless transmitting mic comes with a small magnet. I place the mic inside my shirt near the top using the magnet to hold it in place. Wind noise use to be my biggest issue trying to film at speed before I found the sweet spot with this system.
@@EnergizedZonie Wow, your mic is well hidden. That was my biggest issue in understanding, where was your mic? I thought 'It cant be the X4 mic that dist from his face?' I thought maybe you somehow cleverly attached a mic to your helmet neck strap? Thanks for explaining. btw, Im all about the nerdy details but I wont ask you for those here. Maybe as time goes on, more ppl will ask (I cant have been the first with that crispy audio?) and youll do a video on that? Have a good one.
Wow! Lots of miles! Pre-ordered my ebike, won't be here until mid April. Until then I love watching everyone on their bikes! Enjoyed your video, Thanks!
Thanks for watching the video Kimmy. I know how hard it can be to wait 3 months. Which e-bike did you purchase?
@EnergizedZonie I ordered the Outlaw Plus from Escape Electric Bikes, its a step thru and has two batteries. I really like this small business! I like the owners values and the ability to talk directly to them!
Great choice Kimmy! I completely agree with your assessment of Escape Electric Bikes. I actually reached out to Joel recently to let him know that I really like what he is doing with his Outlaw, Outlander, and Mountaineer models. I think he and his wife are really on to something. Stay tuned. You may be seeing a review in the very near future on Escape Electric Bikes aight here on the channel. Enjoy your new Outlaw Plus. I think you are going to love it1 to see if he would be interested in
@EnergizedZonie nice to hear you agree with my choice! Besides the business they run, I really liked that the bike parts are known names and not cheap generic parts! Also Joel was awesome on the phone and spent time with me and thoroughly answered questions I had! It would be great to see your review on one of Escape's ebikes! I think they might be coming out with an AWD model!!😁👍🏼
Hi Kimmy-You are right. They are coming out with the 2 dual motor options: Outlander (& Outlander Plus) and the Mountaineer. I hope to be able to review the Outlander Plus soon.
What is it about e-bikes that turn middle-aged men into fragile or frail old men? Children and teens ride their bikes everywhere and are not nearly as paranoid of traffic as these men on e-bikes. The faster you ride any bike the harder the ground feels when you eventually go down.
Thanks for the comment @Ukiah.Spirit. It could be that some of these men are not use to the high speeds some of these e-bikes can achieve. For instance; if you have never owned or ridin a motorcycle. Your last point is very valid. If you ride these e-bikes long enough, you will eventually go down. My concern is riders not wearing sufficient safety gear when this inevitability happens. In particular, a good helmet with a safety rating that matches or exceed 40+ MPH.
Great coverage of settings. Great supplement to the manual which didn't explain what each affected.
Thank you! I am glad the information was useful. In my estimation, a visual demonstration is the best method for explaining the functionality.
@@EnergizedZonieBest Ive seen. Well done!
Do you happen to know if the fork is a coil or air. I think RST guide comes in both options
Thanks for watching the video @Whoadayson. The RST Guide fork is a coil suspension. An air suspension would have been nice, but it would have raised the cost.
@@EnergizedZonieOk, thanks. I shouldve known after not seeing any red/blue dials, but thought I'd ask. Regarding Wired and pricing, Im impressed they didnt raise the price with the second battery upgrade, which I think we have fierce competition to thank for that. (You know who, lest I speak them into existence). But then, to top that, there still was no increase after the 301 tariff expiration, not to mention theyre based near Chicago, which has to be costly. Im pleasantly surprised and impressed. Thanks again for your video and replies!
I've been enjoying my new Cruiser for a couple weeks now. I appreciate and enjoy your informative and fun videos. You've helped me setup my pedal assist percentages and various other settings. I also purchased the modular helmet you featured in a video and plan to use it in colder weather and on my dual sport motorcycle too. I was going to try Class 2 for my first rides until the battery needed charging to check my max range. I got to about 40 miles and the battery was at 50%. At that point I could wait no longer and unlocked it :-) Take care and God bless.
Hey Scott. Than you for watching the videos. I’m really glad you found them useful. I don’t blame you for unlocking the bike after 40 miles on your range test. It’s too much fun to use all that power!! Enjoy the ride!
Use can use ur bike to navigate the Superstition Mts & find the Lost Dutchmans Gold Mine😂
Thanks for watching the video @vearsan. Not if you watched my “5 likes & 5 dislikes” video where I take the bike on a very fun ride on the Apache Trail (Hywy 88) past the Superstition Mountains. I thought about heading off road towards the mountains, but didn’t want to wind up as another victim of the curse.
Tht is because there's not enough weight in the front of the bike to evenly distribute the weight from front to back. Only step throughs have tht issue. 😊
Thanks for the comment @baront.mckinney9574. You are right about the weight distribution needing to be evenly distributed.
24:10 The bike is not limiting you. What is happening is you don't have the strength to keep accelerating without the help at 20mph. The type of motor on this bike has no way of doing that. Twenty miles an hour doesn't take twice as much effort as 10mph, it's more like 6 times. Power requirements rise exponentially on a bicycle as you go faster. The wind resistance rises extremely fast as your speed increases.
Got to disagree with you on limiting power beyond 20 MPH in the Class 2 setting. I repeated that same pedal acceleration test on 2 other occasions on that ride with the same results where the motor provided substantial resistance. Leg strength isn’t what it was 30 years ago, but it’s pretty good for someone who is 64.
@@EnergizedZonie I wasn't trying to insult you. Pedaling a bicycle over 20mph is hard work. Like I said, a geared hub motor has no mechanism to rob your legs of the power you are putting in. It's impossible. What is happening is you cannot pedal a 105 pound bike, plus your 260 pounds (IIRC) at over 20mph. That is nothing to be ashamed of. If this was not a geared hub motor, I would agree the bike may be limiting you. But only a non-geared hub motor can do that. That is why there is no regen on the bike. It simply cannot do it.
Hi!! Sir Gerry what's up..This is Art..i am using the account of my wife's Leah. Mom Cording watching your videos..Amizing E-bike.its very nice use here in Philippines.❤
Hi Art! This bike is just as much fun to ride as my motorcycle. It would be a great to get the island around for old guys like me with bad knees. Please give mom Cording a kiss for me! I wanted to thank you and Leah for taking such good care of her!!
Very nice use here in Philippines
Hi Lea! That bike would be a lot of fun to ride around Anda.
Perfect ride 👌🏼
Thanks for watching the video @vearsan!
That motor is NOT 153nm. There are many cars that don't put out 153Nm (112 foot pounds) of torque. If it can do it at all, it's at the axle, not at the wheels. But most likely, the number is just completely fabricated, most like low end Chinese equipment. Just pure and total fantasy. Given the heat build up in the motor, this is a very inefficient motor. Heating 9.3kg (weight of the motor/hub) by 260F (90 ambient to 350F) takes a lot of energy. This very likely has poor quality cells as well. There is no mention of what cells are being used in the battery. A lot of corners have to be cut to bring a 2100wh e-bicycle down to 2 grand.
The lithium battery cells are Samsung. The terrain on this ride was very hilly and fairly steep in places. Only got a little over 19 miles out of the 2 batteries with a total of 2100WH’s. You are right, the motor is not the best when it comes to the affects of heat build up on the motor.
@@EnergizedZonie There is a guy on youtube with a motorcycle dyno and he has actually put a bunch of e-bikes on the dyno and not a single one puts out the claimed high torque numbers. Try looking for e-bike dyno testing to find the channel. I looked at their site and I didn't see any claims about the brand of the batteries. But if they are using Samsung, they are pretty good batteries. Also, you might not know this, but taking lithium ion batteries down to zero is very, very bad for the battery and will substantially lower its life. Be careful with that.
I think I know which channel you are referring to (Area 13). I think he does a great job providing unbiased performance data using his dyno.
You clearly have never tried one because the motor is absolutely 153 nm of torque, tested on a dyno with the results posted online. Wired uses Samsung batteries and has the battery and the entire electrical system certified to UL 2849. Nobody is close in terms of quality at this price point not to mention the power and battery capacity compared to a boring 750w fat tire. The reason Wired can offer this bike without cutting corners is because they really only have two models and they order in large quantities, they spend $0 on marketing and they have a low cost structure. They have sold over 10k of these bikes over the last couple of years and they have proved incredibly durable and capable, so much so that numerous competitors are copying Wired. Once you try a 60v bike, you will never want to ride anything less.
@@jfly2249 Can you link to this video where the torque is measured as 153nm? Also, I don't want to see a peak, I want to see a sustained number. A roll of a hundred counterfeit UL stickers are available for like 20 yuan. Samsung wrappers are pretty cheap too. The counterfeit cells in the small volume supply chain likely outnumber genuine cells. They spend plenty on marketing. You think all these youtubers are reviewing the bikes on their own dime? The guy in this video bought the bike himself, but 90% of the reviews on youtube are sponsored. The larger channels are paid many thousands of Dollars for these reviews, which are really just commercials.
85 pounds for this bike or 105 for your other bike put these outside of being bicycles. These are strictly e-bikes. 85 pounds is a lot of weight to lug around with pedal only, let alone 105 of your other bike.
Luckily I didn’t have to pedal the Aima Big Sur at 85 LBS. I did have to pedal the 105 LBS Wired Cruiser for about a mile on the 1st range test a few months ago when I ran out of batteries. Not a fun experience!
@@EnergizedZonie Tell me about it..... I've done it, only with groceries and one time with Kerosene (over 20 gallons). I have a 2 child trailer that attaches to the bike. Children have long outgrown the trailer, but it's very handy for that sort of thing.
I question the effectiveness of one time stopping with larger rotors. The braking force is limited by the friction between the tire and the ground. This is especially true in the back. Your weight shifts forward under hard braking and allows the rear wheel to lose traction and lock up. Where big brakes help is frequent stopping or long descents. Larger rotors can absorb and radiate more heat more quickly than a smaller rotor.
Agreed. Love having those 203mm rotors with 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes. Great stopping power and heat dissipation.
@@EnergizedZonie Given the hills I've seen you on in other videos, yeah, they probably come in handy.
27:50 It looks to me like your seat is too low. I'm 6'3" so shorter than you and would have the seat higher. Your feet should not touch the ground when mounted on a bicycle (barely touching with your tippy toes). Having a seat too low will cause knee pain. I heard you say earlier that you have knee problems.
Thanks for the comment @tarstarkusz. I try to the seat high enough to where I have to tip toe to reach the ground without coming off the seat at a stop. That’s just what works best for me. In order to get full leg extension, do you keep your seat high enough where you have to come off the seat when you stop?
@@EnergizedZonie If you have to use your tippy toes to reach the ground when stopping, you are probably at the right height (it just looked low in the video). Yes, when I come to a stop, I have to dismount. But I usually pull over so I can remain seated and keep my right foot on the curb (which is a few inches higher than street level) at lights and stuff. But I live in the city where everywhere has a curb. Mounting and dismounting at ever corner with a light is a pain. That's why I use the curb trick.
Great point. The curb trick is my preferred method as well. Thanks for the reminder. I will try to remember to mention it in an upcoming video.
So today was my second day of riding 16 miles yesterday just testing things out and getting used to it. Today on a full charge did 42 miles, battery say 59% remaining. Mostly flat (Florida) but some moderate hills. Using your suggested settings in the other video ( ua-cam.com/video/zesyTvaBTfY/v-deo.html ) I pedaled 85% of the ride. 60% in PAS1 30% PAS 2-3 and about 5 miles throttle only fun. I'm sure the 2nd half of the batteries drains much faster than the first half if it's anything like my other 3 ebikes, but I'm still impressed with the distance achieved. . This bike is night and days above Rad Rover and Mini's that I own. On the other hand it's a pretty strong bike for people who haven't ridden a bike in decades.
BTW what is considered to high of a temp, I missed that part if you gave an opinion.
Looks you got some really good range! 42 miles is a long ride. Great exercise pedaling 85% of the ride!
The motor max’s out around 355 degrees Fahrenheit.
Just received my bike 2 days ago, this was a great help and so easy to follow. Thank you, you definitely earned this new subscriber here.
That’s awesome @jp9910, thank you!
Really good stuff. I enjoy riding bicycles, too. I ride a single speed Motobecane up and down my hilly neighborhood. I'm 60. Later, I'm looking to put a front hub motor on it. I hope more people will get out and ride. It's great exercise, and doing a day planned trip can be exciting 😀
Thanks for the comment Allen. That front hub motor should help get you up those hills. I hope these videos help motivate people to get out, exercise, and see there communities.
@EnergizedZonie I hope AZ does more to making biking more accessible. Safer to. I have good gearing on my single speed, and my legs are strong for the hills I ride
Agreed. Offering financial incentives like California is doing would go along way towards AZ making biking more accessible. Enjoy the ride!
Great video! Hope to be able to do that one dau!
Thanks! I hope so too. My advise. Have the Alieve ready for those aching muscles after a 90 mile ride that kicked my butt!
While watching this video I am waiting for the FedEx truck to drop off my Wired Cruiser within the next few hours! Thank you so much for this video as this was a big question that I had and of course you came through like a rock star. The highlight of the video for me was "Zero percent battery.... That can't be good!".... I had to laugh, been there, done that on another electric bike! Safe travels!
Thanks Randy! Hopefully, by the time you read this, Fedex will have delivered your Cruiser. I'm excited for you! Enjoy the ride!!
I'm looking for an e bike/trike and just seen the wired brand. I'm also 64 years old
Thanks for the comment @dougpringle8938. A trike would be more on the conservative side of e-biking and would top out at 15-20 MPH. The Wired bikes would offer more flexibility by either keeping the bike set to Class 2 mode topping out at 20 MPH or unlocking the power up to 40 MPH.
