The less romantic cold truth of the Fuji apple! Interesting geography lesson here. And all ties in with the supportive diplomatic relationship between Japan and Fuji the last few decades. I think there was some rumblings of Japan supporting Fuji in some national effort a couple years ago. I don't know my contemporary geo-political history. I actually thought they spoke Japanese in Fuji up until a decade or so ago! Anyway, I mostly just like the crisp and sweet bite I can reliably count on with that apple! Thanks

Not gonna lie, as a store bought golden delicious enjoyer, I kind of feel like an uncultured swine now. Which is fair, 'cause I am.

Oh, and one last thing: I know it can be hard to relax and "act natural" in front of the camera. The best piece of advice I stumbled across that actually helped me improve in my videos, is to just pretend you're recording a video for just your best friend, or your significant other, etc. Just imagine that you're talking to someone you can act natural with, and use that energy. It really helped me. I subscribed, liked, and this makes the third comment. I can see your passion, and I love what you're doing! Seriously, you're already doing great, and I can't wait to see what you've got in store. For some video ideas: you could make a series about the best things to eat with apples! What's your take on caramel, peanut butter, etc.? Anyway, sorry for ranting, just wanted to wish you will and let you know you've got a fan.

If I can add some constructive criticism: editing out pauses and such, and adding some graphics or b-roll of apples, etc. would really add to the value.

Wow! I was not aware that this apple was from West Virginia. Guess I should bve embarrassed about that, since I live in West Virginia. Guess that explains why they are so widely available here.

Interesting history, I didn't know any of this before. The Golden Delicious name kind of worked I guess because I always mentally compared it favorably to the Red Delicious and was more satisfied getting it. Now reflecting on it, you're right, it's a rather meh grocery store apple.

Hay bro, I heard farmers market. Tomatoes are a lot better than grocery store tomatoes. Probably similar with apples. tomatoes grown in the ground are a lot better than tomatoes from grocery stores because I guess a lot of tomatoes in grocery stores are grown hydroponically, not in the ground. I don’t know about the apples though.

I was like "I bet you know more Swahili words than you think," and googled it, and I actually know more Swahili words than I think, too. I never knew kibosh was Swahili, I always thought it was Yiddish! Same with Kanzi, never knew it was Swahili and assumed it was Japanese! Here are some Swahili loan words common in English: Safari: meaning journey or expedition, often used to refer to a trip to observe wildlife in Africa. Simba: meaning lion, popularized by the Disney movie "The Lion King." Hakuna matata: meaning "no problem" or "no worries," also popularized by "The Lion King." Jumbo: meaning hello or welcome, often used in greeting or as an exclamation. Karibu: meaning welcome. Kibosh: meaning to put an end to something, often used in the phrase "put the kibosh on." Uhuru: meaning freedom, it was used as a slogan during the struggle for Kenyan independence.

I've had Jazz apples but never a Kanzi. However, if I e er find any at the store, I will buy them! Incidentally, I have not smoked since January 2nd, 2006.

You are a sui generis yourself, and that is a compliment. I didn't know the history of this apple, but from now on, I will think of Maria Smith whenever I bite into one of these tartly delicious beauties. And Fisher Price should also have done a Granny Smith happy apple.

I haven't tried these apples, nor even seen them at the grocery store, but if I ever do, I will buy some! By the way, I love the little bear and dinosaur with apples on their backs! Love your background decor!

Tried my sugarbee on the drive into work today. Wasn't as sweet as I had hoped. Cosmic crisp is still my top pick.

Gala variety is a personal fave. I get mine from a local orchard.
