Nissan Navara D40 - SCV replacement and ECU reset
Replacing the suction control valve (SCV) on my 2007 Nissan Navara (YD25DDTi) and reseting the engine control unit (ECU)
Possible faulty SCV symptoms:
1. Intermittent injector rattle usually at around 2000 rpm
2. Stalling on idle
3. Jerking / loss of power
4. DPF light coming on
5. Cruise control failing to maintain constant speed
Notes:
- Replacement can be done from above thru the engine bay but you'll mostly be doing it blind. It's recommended to move the oil dipstick out of the way when done this way.
- The electrical connector can be tight and hard to grip. Do NOT pull from the wires, that's literally illegal.
- Do NOT let dirt get into the fuel pump.
- Make sure the new SCV seats properly. Do not force it or you'll pinch the o-ring. It sits snug but not tight.
ECU reset:
- Ignition on, wait 3 seconds
- Pump accelerator 5 times, wait 7 seconds
- Hold accelerator for 10 seconds
- Check engine light should start flashing, wait about a minute
- Turn the ignition off
- Start the engine
(The "beep" heard on the video during the reset is not related to the procedure, it's coming from my dashcam)

Nissan Navara D40, 2007, engine rattle sound
Переглядів 1864 місяці тому
Trying to diagnose the cause for this strange engine rattle sound. Seems to happen mostly at highway speeds on flat/slight decline at around 2100rpm. More clearly audible in person than what my dash cam can capture. Seems to be in sync with the engine rpm. No apparent shaking/loss of power. Just the sound. I experienced the same issue about 6 months earlier and replacing the SCV seemed to fix i...

Thanks! I had done this once before and back then I didn't have a video to rely on, so this time around, I just decided to make the video I needed back then. Figured there might be few other Navara owners out there trying to figure out the same thing too.

It's not so bad really. I've done it twice. It can be done from above as well but there's a reason I chose to go in via the wheel well the second time. Atleast now I could see what I'm doing. I'd say the most crucial part is making sure the o-ring stays in place while placing the new valve and that you don't pinch it. If not sure, then try again. The rest is just trying to find the right gap to approach the bolts from and trying not to drop them.

Legend has it that they finished filming the scene, but Jonathan (staying in character) went to Vince Gilligan to give him instructions on how he wanted the series to continue, but Vince didn't like it. Then, he realized that Jonathan Banks went further than anyone can come, and that is why he took revenge on Jonathan, writing the most unfair ending possible for Mike. Then, when Mike dies, Vince (with an extremely believable Walter costume) he realizes what he did, but Jonathan tells him to shut up and let him die in peace. In other words, Vince is Walter, because they control those who control their business. And they want the meth/show to be as pure as possible. And the meth and the show reached 99.1 percent purity.

I'm about to change my brake pads too this weekend! Do we need to lubricant both the caliper bolts and the brake pads? Anything you recommend using if i'm doing my brake pads for the first time ? #australiafollower

    • @Sceme1991
      @Sceme1991 4 місяці тому

Sorry I missed your question! I put copper paste on the outside of the pads because I've seen other people do that too but I doubt it's necessary. It's supposed to stop them from making noise. Lubing the glide pins however is important especially if they're seized because otherwise the pads wont center properly causing the brakes to drag, heat up and wear unevenly. Brake lube or silicone paste both should do the job.

Yeah. I'm not sure if it does anything but I've seen others do it aswell and since I had the stuff I thought why not. Just be careful to not get it on the front side of the pads or discs. Making sure the glide pins move freely is more important.

One thing I like about the show is how important characters that haven't had a proper introduction yet are still noticeable. An example of this is Todd in this scene, Just a background character. That's all we really know of him and later he becomes probably one of the biggest villains of the entire show besides Gus. Gus is similar to this where the first time that Walton Jesse tried to attempt to meet him without knowing what he looks like, you can see him in the background and even walks by their table. It really just makes you feel like you always have to pay attention to the background characters cuz you never know which one is going to have a bigger role.
