There is no back tension belt that I can see from the front panel on my BX-150. Is this normal?

Is there something that helps with this scenario... Turntable > Phono Preamp > Amplifier 1/Amplifier 2 > Speakers I want to be able to flip between 2 different amplifiers with a single pair of speakers.

My cd player was the Sony CDP-200 (silver face w/ a Volume Knob). 1984, $500. Eventually, discs began to skip. NO ONE in the repair shops knew a fix. Every cd player i have bought has been north of $400. Moved onto a Denon. Sound was a definite upgrade (higher over sampling?). The difference could be heard. Drawer became an issue. Then onto a Rotel...sound, again, was an upgrade. Then a NAD...quality of sound has now plateau'd ...currently, a Denon.

Currently seeking to collect CDs of my favourite artists. I realized how owning a copy at your literal palm of your hands felt so satisfying than borrowing a liscence from Spotify, UA-cam, etc. Even if I'm seeking for second hand, they are still a way of supporting the artists in my way. My father was also a huge CD collector so it's like nostalgia hit me as well.

A 3 to 400 dollar cd / blueray player?!?!? wow you guys are rich. You can pick those up at the thrift store for like 5 to 10 bucks!!! same 0s and 1s being sent to your amp.

I have one on the bench. I looked at the output transistors they are small Sanyo type look original all the same so it’s a capacitor coupled design. As far as the switch just needs to be cleaned taken apart and remove carbon buildup!

i did that for a little while. i found that if i turned off the TV, the audio would shut off. i had the blue ray player hooked up to an AVR reciever so the audio was not coming off the TV. i find that unacceptable. i do not want to have my TV on in order to listen to music

Here in England the situation is about the same - the golden age of CD and DVD bargains is over. It does make the occasional nice find all the more cherishable. A recent trip to an unfamiliar town saw me find The Clash Live at Shea Stadium and a haul of Joe Strummer's solo work, plus the terrific anime series Cowboy Bebop, which was literally just being put onto the shelf.

Great review. I am still rocking my 1983 Heresys my brother bought for me new. I now push them with a WillsentonR8 and I love the sound. These speakers are really one of my most treasured items.

I have a huge CD collection from late 80's to 2000's and I have a high end CD player and amplifier so. A good home music system will really squeeze the sound out of the disc.

And my Samsung bluray player does 3D with a projector.

Less donations are dropped at these thrift stores because people sell their collections online or to record stores for pennies. Your best bet is flea markets or conventions.

I like 80% of the songs on Adrenalize. This album was the tour that I got to see the band live when they came to Erie PA and was phenomenal.

I mostly listen to rock and metal and can never find metal CD’s at Goodwill, Savers, thrift stores, or even garage sales in Hawaii. Are all the old dudes like me just hanging on to them until they kick the bucket or what?

I never quit buying them, I purchase most of them through Amazon, which offers AutoRIp, if I'm not happy with the MP3 quality I rip the CD to FLAC and play it on my phone with Muzio Player. I have always preferred 16-bit 44100 Hz over MP3.
