Welcome to the first episode of "Let's Read Art Business Books" series! In this video, I share my honest opinion and my review on "Real Artists Don't Starve" by Jeff Goins.

My rating is based on the following criteria:
5: excellent, outstanding - full of new ideas I haven’t yet heard elsewhere, actionable, practical advice, up-to-date with art marketing and promotion strategies
4: good - many good ideas, some of it I already heard elsewhere, practical straightforward advice on art business is present
3: average - some good ideas but most of it I heard already somewhere, doesn’t say much new, not quite up-to-date, low number of actual followable practical advice
2: below average - only mentioning some good ideas here and there, but doesn’t elaborate, very little business advice, theoretical, difficulty to translate them into actionable steps for the reader
1: poor - lack of good ideas and nothing new, all was said already and many times (relative to the time of writing, too), not at all up-to-date, there are no actionable steps and business advice

Hey guys! I intentionally do not make a clear distinction between value (darkness or lightness) and chroma (saturation) in this video in order not to complicate things for beginners. Of course, there are many ways to change the chroma and the value. This one is a very easy and basic way to do so, therefore helpful as a first step to start somewhere. In the future, I plan to make a bit longer and more comprehensive video to provide a more detailed explanation and demonstration of the variety of mixing strategies.

Great video! I can so much relate to it. I procrastinate because I set the goal to make this crazy aesthetic art vlogs, but having a family with kids means, it is never as perfect aesthetic, as I want it to be. But actually, I just want make videos for youtube about my life and art! Crazy, how false goals can prevent us from even starting. Thank you for this video, it came just at the right time to me 😘😘😘

It is so good that you realized that perfection is not really needed, it is more important to show your personality, then people feel that it is authentic. I am also struggling with this. seal wooden palette with wood sealer than you will have the effect like glass. it is easy and inexpensive to do that
