Very well done video. But my 2013 Piaggio Fly 50 has a floorboard tank, so how does fuel flow when the card is higher. Is there going to be sufficien vacuum to pull gas up ? Haha....now we see the advantage of an electric fuel pump and fuel injection...:))

Hi the most important part on putting the spring back on you hands were in the way. Now the spring came off and i don't know where the spring came from? can you please show how the spring on both ends go on?

It's insane how new ford trucks don't come with drain plugs anymore... This was common 60 years ago, but now apparently they're too cheap to drill and tap a plug

Man I'm so glad I found your video somehow. I have a newer 40hp mercury (I thought it was a 95), and when I enter the serial number online it gave me all the wrong part numbers. Yours looks exactly like mine. Nice to see an example of how one is setup. My impeller had a little chip out of one of the vanes, hoping it doesn't cause me any issues wherever it went.

Fantastic video! I have a 35 hp from -87 with the same fuel pump, however there is no water hooked up to it even though there are nipples there for it. Why would the fuel pump need water supply?

The only improvement I could offer is to state where you bought your inline valve and how much it cost. Other than that it's one of the best do it yourself videos I have seen. My particular Kymco people 50 has the exact same issue. Curiously if I take the spark plug out and roll the engine over with the spark plug out then reassemble it starts instantly. I strongly suspect that this is the issue Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It is appreciated.

This works only when the fuel tank is higher than the carburetor right? My Gilera DNA has the tank lower and it needs to pump the fuel up to get to the carburetor... And this is mine not doing at the moment 😬

What is this port on the top of the block to the left of the 020 white numbers? Is it supposed to be capped off because the boat/ engine I just bought looks like a relief valve and it drains hot water as the engines running. Previous owner had a hose attached to it. Shows perfectly at 29:19

I scuffed up the bottom of my boat right at the transom scraped off pieces of gelcoat. Wondering is it ok to leave in the water till season is done and then repair it after?

I have a 1982 40hp mercury thunderbolt. There is a rod that goes into the lower part of the motor. It engages the lock that holds the motor in reverse. Can you do a video on that?

Some people say the engine oil on a motorcycle or scooter should be checked with the dip stick screwed all the way in, and some say it should be checked with the dip stick resting on top without screwing it in. Which is the correct way?

I have this exact engine. I purchased the repair kit. The carb is leaking fuel from the air intake face of the carburetor. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I think your peacock was pretty bad I don't know really cuz I thought I followed you with that cuz I have no pressure tester peacock was nothing wrong with it feel for with gas but it starts up and then it dies is my problem then it starts up again and then it dies

At first I thought it was my fuel filter but when I noticed that when I turn it on fuel but then it'll start up and eventually it dies I'm pretty sure it's not my spark plug so I know it's something to do with fuel so I have ordered a new peacock and hopefully this solves my problem it just won't start running when I first purchase it I didn't have any problem then I let it sit for a long time over winter and when I try to start it up it didn't work it just doesn't stay on I wish you did share the shut off valve it's like one of those lawn mowers when you're done with it you just turn off the valve and it protects the gasoline from being gooey

Smart fix

I have done this many times but this time I noticed no rubber cover on the left side of the glove box like the right where thr nubs are. Also on the right side have a long tension plastic piece about 6 inches. I can close the glovebox, almost, and think one or both of these is why. Any ideas? Grateful for any insight- Jon
