Even on myth busters, the 1 st attempted reaction of a plant to fire set off a lie detector. I couldn't be replicated. Did the plant know it was a test? Wild new frontier of science. Just amazing. One of the two research subjects/plants (I want to say it was Edwards, but I can't be sure) went on record at the time that he was by no means ruling out the possibility of real psychic phenomenon, but that he was tired of people performing what it was plain to him were nothing more than sleight-of-hand magic, CLAIMING it was psychic power, and making big bucks off those who wanted it to be real. His desire was therefore to empower psychic research to RULE OUT such con artists, to be skeptical enough to recognize them, so that, when the real thing comes along, we can know it's real. I want God to be real. What I DON'T want is a "preacher" who is just using sleight of hand and a radio in his ear, claiming to speak on behalf of God when God has nothing to do with what he's doing. Randi caught the false prophets of his time, and that's a holy calling.
