Center on Faith and Justice
Приєднався 26 жов 2021
Georgetown University's Center on Faith and Justice aims to deepen the conversation on religion and politics and to advocate for just public policies. Housed in the McCourt School of Public Policy and led by noted Christian ethicist Jim Wallis, the Center focuses on four key programmatic areas: racism, poverty, peace, and justice-in all their religious, moral, personal, and systematic dimensions. It brings together students, scholars, practitioners, religious leaders, policymakers, and media to reshape how faith is discussed and understood in relation to our civic life. The Center on Faith and Justice at Georgetown University seeks a reversal of politics merely being defined by wealth and power but rather by our best spiritual values. And it believes that a society’s moral integrity is defined by the well-being of the most marginalized and vulnerable.

Why Jim Wallis wrote his new book, "The False White Gospel"
Переглядів 2,1 тис.7 місяців тому
Rev. Jim Wallis wrote his new book, "The False White Gospel," because American democracy is under dire threat more than at any time since the Civil War. The bad theology of Christian nationalism, which Wallis calls the "False White Gospel," is playing a central role in undermining democratic values and trying to prevent the United States from becoming a true multi-racial democracy where everyon...

Faith and Justice: Breaking White Silence on Voting Rights
I have always thought how surprised these white supremacists Christians are going to be when they die and find out Jesus christ is not white .
Rev. Wallis, What a bright light of HOPE you are at this time for our nation and the church of Jesus Christ. I don’t know why I’ve not heard of or seen you before today but I am praising God this day for putting you in my path. I’ve been so discouraged over what has been happening in our nation and the ugly involvement of the “church”. Thank you for your voice of truth and reason.
BEWARE J D VANCE: Wrote foreword to Project 2025!
It's interesting that the people who use "woke" as a derogatory term for anything they don't like are the same people attending an event calling for a "reawakening"
Our Speaker of the house is Christian Nationalist, 3rd from President!
Can we stop calling them Christian Nationalists? They are NOT Christians they are just racists.
So many so-called "Christians" have drug Jesus' name through the mud: the Catholic inquisitors who tortured and burned people at the stake; the warriors on both sides of the "Civil" War who murdered their own brothers; all we who have accepted God's grace for our sins, but turned and condemned our fellows for their sins; every single person who's credited God with their victories in fleshly fights... Check out the song I believe was inspired for just such a time as this, called "(Christians) We've Been Hypocrites"! And may God grant us repentance from all our hypocrisy!
The sad part about this argument is that the people on here do not understand the word of God. The fact that you say America wasn’t founded on Christian principles is just plain False. What is love? Talking about love? Or telling the truth? Base your beliefs on what Christ says. Not what men say. Jesus Christ says his kingdom is not of this world
Keep up the good work!
All I see is more division of the American people. Keep up the division and you will have even less.
Amen…..
Thank you for the encouragement to take a stand with Jesus for all people.
The far right is rejecting God's calling us to the Banquet Table where all are being called, every tribe, every tongue, rich, poor and every Nation. They are rejecting God, they are rejecting the teachings and the way of Jesus Christ. They are blinded by the thrist of being first, power and money. They can't see what their end will be if they do not repent and turn from there wrongful ways.
As a Haitian-American in times like these where majority of Western Christianity have shifted to the far right, I appreciate you all having this conversation. It's much needed and may God Bless You All! ❤
As an American, I can only say, the majority may have shifted right, thanks to certain leaders embracing Trump but I can tell you, I follow Christ Jesus as my Lord & Savior and have left my church and lost friends over their embrace of him as President. It shows where they were really at as far as I’m concerned. Shalom
Amen!
A breath of fresh Air thanks
Keanu Reeves is the epitomy of a Christian. He does not declare to be one, but practices christianity in day to day basis.Sadio Mane is a muslim but practices christianity in a big way without shouting that he is either a christian or muslim..
White christian nationalism is Nazism in disguise???
What’s frustrating for me, is that black people has been saying this for DECADES! It seems it only matters now since it’s affecting everyone, but at least it’s getting some light now.
🤔 comparing Christion Nationalism to Zionism 🤔 as ideologies 🤔
As a Bible-believing born-again Christian man no such thing as a Christian Nationalist. You can hardly get 10 Christians to agree on most things. I my self can't stand Charismatics, Assemblies of God, United Methodist, Liberal churches. So no such thing as a Christian Nationalist. 😅
I am an atheist. Your message is one of a clear and present danger to Christians and non-Christians alike and to our precious democracy, which provides the guideline for together living the good life and the pursuit of happiness. Anytime some ideology claims the most valuable things in our lives must be subverted to an invisible, undetectable, being backed by violence, get ready to fight for your values. Praise our Constitution and pass the ammunition. “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves, and, under a just God, cannot long retain it.” - Abraham Lincoln, letter to H.L. Pierce, April 6, 1859. From the series Great Ideas of Western Man.
Kyros time Kairos time, also known as “opportune moment” or “critical time,” is an ancient Greek concept that refers to a specific moment or window of opportunity when action is most effective or impactful. Unlike chronos time, which is measured by clocks and calendars, kairos time is characterized by its uniqueness, timing, and context. Key Characteristics Uniqueness: Each kairos moment is distinct and cannot be replicated. It is a fleeting opportunity that requires immediate attention. Timing: Kairos time is not about scheduling or planning, but rather about being aware of and responding to the present moment. Context: The effectiveness of kairos time depends on the situation, audience, and circumstances. It requires understanding the dynamics at play and adapting to them. Opportune action: Kairos time demands decisive and timely action, often requiring a sense of urgency and flexibility. Examples and Applications Rhetoric: In ancient Greek rhetoric, kairos time referred to the art of seizing the right moment to deliver a message, taking into account the audience, situation, and context. Leadership: Effective leaders recognize and capitalize on kairos moments to make strategic decisions, inspire action, or address critical issues. Communication: In modern communication, kairos time involves understanding the audience’s needs, emotions, and circumstances to deliver messages that resonate and inspire action. Spirituality: In Christian theology, kairos time is seen as God’s timing, emphasizing the importance of being attentive to divine guidance and opportunities. In Practice Be aware: Cultivate mindfulness and attention to the present moment, recognizing opportunities and challenges as they arise. Adapt: Be flexible and responsive to changing circumstances, adjusting your approach as needed. Prioritize: Focus on the most critical tasks and decisions, leveraging kairos moments to drive progress and impact. Seize the moment: Take decisive action when opportunities arise, trusting your instincts and judgment. By embracing the concept of kairos time, you can develop a more nuanced understanding of timing, context, and opportunity, ultimately enhancing your decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
Religion is not spirituality!
Because one believes in the God of israel and the other one satan the devil simple as that.😢
By destroying the God of Israel's words of informed knowledge to the masses.😢
Evangelical mega churches are 💯 Christian Nationalism..nothing but exclusive..selfish ...cant stomach what theyve done to J esus' name..repulsive
Its tge Republican party thst is responsible for this 💯
I believe Trump is a high risk to Humanity…We must not allow him to ever again hold any governmental office in our nation…I hear you and I see you😅
The Golden Rule!
At 65, I don't follow any organized religion. These Christians who want to k*ll other Americans because they are losing in politics shines a light on how horrible they are. Now, when I see someone wearing a cross around their neck, I think to myself, thanks for letting me know that I can't trust you.
This provides me hope as my own Children, some have shied away from Christian "Title" based on Christian Nationalism's rhetoric! That is not anything like Jesus taught <3 Thank you - for shedding light on this topic.
Supporting and promoting LGBT is not the opposite of "white Christian nationalism". One does not have to be a Christian at all to oppose, particularly the menticide of transgenderism on children--one only has to be a Marxist Progressive who wants to destroy our youth and pretend to be their champian so when they grow up they will vote for Progressives. It is a brilliant political strategy, but as evil as anything that has ever come to these shores. Even non-Christians with the slightest love in their hearts will oppose you with everything they have. “There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children.” ~Nelson Mandela Transgender indoctrination shows how little regard Marxist Progressive Democrats have for America’s soul. “But if physical death is the price that some must pay to free their children from a permanent psychological death, then nothing shall be more redemptive.” ~Martin Luther King Jr. We Shall Overcome speech: Four days before his assassination.
What the fuck is this guy on
Many of us are coming on the backs of love and consideration for other people Trump's policies support his narcissism and ego and his policies are anti Christ and anti freedom, we are to test the spirit to see if there of God. Not if they are worldly or religious but spiritual that they focus on relationship Vs material possessions. Christian nationalists are pushing for a militant version of Christianity a one world religion.
What do we do with intimacy of hatred? I’ve lost family, friends, and lovers over their racism. Can’t change them but I can’t join them. I just can’t.
Perhaps church an state were never separate, only for them that profit from it's systems.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg upheld the Doctrine of Discovery in an infamous 2005 case involving the Oneida Tribe. This doctrine was used as legal precedent in our supreme court.
The threat to democracy doesnt bother me anywhere near to how much I'm appalled by the horrendous black eye that is given to Jesus Christ. God is not mocked.
This is racist in and of itself . You should be ashamed of what you’re attempting to push .
How atheistic globalism destroys human beings . In Genesis 11 God came down and confused the language so that people would leave their unity under Nimrod and spread out and inhabit the world under many autonomous natuons. In WW II nations worked as check and balances in order to prevent Hitler from taking over the entire world. The saying goes Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It was God who caused nations to form and caused Nimrod's one world government to collapse. And you want to scorn nationalism. If you do you are actually expressing scorn on the God of the Bible who destroyed the first one world government and caused many sovereign autonomous natuons to form.
Jim Wallace started his own social justice cult in the 90s... he's been grifting on it ever since.
When i got saved it was called FUNDAMENTALISM.
But where do we meet to have some kind of army to defend ourselves against them when they start the armed conflict? I am not into any gods, I am seeing this war in conflict with any preachers or christians, the history is not good for this hebrew god, the history shows to get this god out of this country faster than what our history has done.
AMERICA IS A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.. TAKE YOUR DEMOCRACY STRAIGHT TO HELL.....
Did he primate,,?
SO NOW THE DEMS ARE PAYING THESE FREAKS, TO TAKE OUT THE CHRISTIANS. YOUR IDEA IF CHRISTIANITY IS DEMONIC AND WILL FALL. IT IS YOU WHO ARE DISTORTING THE CHRISTIAN FAITH, REAL BELIEVERS CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU.
If white Christian nationalists do become the predominant power, they will *still* maintain the mantra that they are actually the oppressed ones.
Once you pulled politics into this I quit listening! Where are your books on abortion, gays preaching, transgenderism, and how the Jesus you mention whom I know loves everyone but has rules liberal Pastors like you won't ever preach in a pulpit! I will keep the white gospel I have because it already includes all my brothers and sisters of color of whom I will meet as well in Jesus kingdom! I don't need your book because I already have one called the Bible untwisted!
The Supreme Court is actively supporting White Christian Nationalism.
