    It was 45-37 Rockets at halftime,that would be the score after the first quarter now because they have abolished defense in the league now.

    McHale played the whole playoffs with a foot fracture. He was all nba 1st team and all nba defensive 1st team That fracture limited him in the playoffs.

    Laimbeer did not deliberately take Bird down. Watch it at 1/4 speed, and you will see it was Rodman's leg that flew up and knocked Laimbeer into a falling Bird. Complicated dynamics, but clear enough. Bird understandably thought Laimbeer attacked him, but he was wrong.

    I never knew there was this big hoolahoo regarding David Robinson before he came to the NBA. Really interesting stuff! In all walks of life including in sport, you get penalized when you react to provocation. I wish Bird had connected with that right hook and knocked out that fool Laimbeer. It's really not surprising that a lot of people around the NBA didn't like him.

    When it comes to the 80's - something that I don't think people remember is that Milwaukee moved from the Midwest Division in the Western Conference to the Central Division and the Eastern Conference in 79/80. It's a sneaky big thing cause though the Lakers would have still dominated the decade - if Milwaukee was still in the west they may have been able to challenge the Lakers years after year opposed to the random Suns Nuggets Spurs Mavericks Rockets year after year. Other than the Celtics and Sixers the Lakers had no rival in the west in the 80's. The Bucks could have been that team to compete with showtime in the 80's.

    Detroit played dirty. There is a difference from playing physical and playing outright dirty.

    Dantley destroyed Bird

    • @MaximusWolfe
      @MaximusWolfe 2 місяці тому

      No he didn’t. Bird played much better than Dantley overall (had a triple double). Basketball is a lot more than individual scoring. And that’s part of what made Bird the goat. Even if his shot wasn’t falling he’d beat you 7 other ways.

    With 58 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, Charles Barkley hit the biggest shot of his entire career. If he had missed that shot then Phoenix gets bounced in the first round and Charles Barkley never gets to play in an NBA Finals series. In my opinion that was the biggest clutch shot he ever hit under the circumstances!
