My best advice would be to get the GE Cync / C by GE Smart Light Switches. They have many different options including ones that require or don’t require a neutral wire.

You are a life saver, however I left the holder hole 10mm in order to keep the holder strenght, tapped 10mm in the head, but for the 10M bolt went to the machine shop and from the bolt head 17.5mm were cut down to 8mm and a 30degree radius was added to the bolt head bottom, holder hole was cut as well to the same 30degree angle. Main thing is to make sure the bolt is not too long, but as well to have enough thread engagment. At the end torqued them down to 35NM
Next time you do some kind of repair, shoot a small video, it may be useful for someone like me or you.
Tap the bolt hole to 10mm . It doesn't need to be drilled because a 10mm tap fits lovely. Then make a 10mm to 6mm bush . Locktite it in then use a 6 mm Allen head short bolt to bolt clamp down. Iv done more than I can remember
I had a broken bolt inside, tried to drill it out with the tap for original M6 1.0, tap broke, after getting more troubles with this mount, decided that there will be no games, only correct procedures...

You can do it pretty easy, if you going to remove and install it yourself. If it doesn't work - you will need to buy another used one and try to rebuild it yourself again... Very simple compared to removing/installing. No joke!

Not on this one. I used das developer level, for r230, sai , second oxygen sensors... On w211 I put EGR back as it helps to preheat engine in cold weather.

Was told to disconnect connector, found later that some of EGRs can leak exhaust under high pressure (different engines). Blocked as described in video. Couple years later found that EGR is not a bad thing, in winter you will find your engine cold after couple of miles,, with EGR - warm... Problem occurs when your engine parts are worn...

You need diagnostics. My car goes to limp mode after full throttle ( looks like throttle body problem). A lot of smoke - too much diesel in mixture or not enough oxygen in mixture, maybe some EGR. You need to get computer diagnostics.
The clamps are counter sunk for the original bolts. I’ve done all four of mine on my om646. All you need to do is drill clamps to 12mm if you using 10mm bolts and they work perfectly.
I did the same as in this video and then I went to test the car, when I pressed the gas pedal all the way there was an explosion, the egr bolts broke and it jumped out. why did this happen? should I have turned off the egr software first?
Mine was off, another guy had it on, but he also blocked it. We didn't experience this type of problem. Possibly you have a high resistance in exhaust... In order to get the EGR out I loosen the bolts and let the pressure to spit out the EGR. Dolts we're fine and EGR was fine... If you live in a cold winter environment - EGR helps to speed up the engine preheat.

Better MPG after egr delete ?
No. Idea was to remove sooth from intake, PCV fills intake with oily mist, and sooth glues to it... I put back everything... And found that 65mph is a good speed. And I put the old firmware, previously I put one with no swirl flaps, no EGR, some boost and fuel added. I was driving 70mph and was all the time 32mpg, everyone reports 37without any effort. Raceiq Tony - has almost 50mpg... Now I faced what looks like ECU malfunction, will need to take off the cover and try soldering it.

Almost perfect. Almost - not original. Will not fail like a gas filled cylinder.

Hey dude, it’s me with the 03 S55 ///AMG. So I don’t see myself anywhere near OH anytime soon however in that same breath I have no issue driving 2k miles round trip to increase my Vmax limit and code out a couple things. I’m sure the car has an ME2.8 ecu bc it displays MPH digitally in the cluster. Do you have a link to who you got your STAR setup from? Aliexpress? eBay? Amazon? For you to offer your assistance means alot, even if I never get the chance to come to you it’s still much appreciated!

@pfoxhound It's limited to 157mph/260kph now, I'd like to get it to 187mph/300kph. I removed and sold all ABC components years ago, she's on adjustable coilovers so no anxiety from any evil lines bursting LOL.

So I've had a few correspondences with renntech and vrp, both said I need to get the tune they can't do anything with limiter removal by itself. Waiting on responses from other tuners I'll copy and paste the message I sent to them so you can see what's up. EDIT: "Hi, I'm curious to know if you offer any Vmax limiter removal services separate from an ECU tune. I'm not looking for any extra power or torque, would need to keep everything completely stock, just raise the top speed from 157mph to 187mph. Car is a 2003 S55 Kompressor. Thanks!"

@@carloscruz7317 I have a car with 300hp 200ft/lb, and 200hp 300ftlb - at first 2nd car will be going faster but in a few seconds 1st one will get in front of 2nd. Any free boost will be helpful.

What is needed and how do you program out the egr ???
You need a tuner. Sometimes you can disable it in DAS(with developer options). Me 2.0 can disable a lot of devices like sai, oxygen sensors, egr, swirl flaps, maf, map... Mine had egr disabled in firmware, but recently I decided to upload a stock, to see the impact on coolant. Egr in this car helps to rise temperature during preheat time, during winter it's a good thing. Depending on engine condition egr is good. But if I clean up the intake - I will have to get a high quality oil separator and put it in between PCV and intake, Like Provent 200 Mann, original, not Chinese copy. There are couple channels on UA-cam form Australia, they show and review these devices, there's a Australian government research on this question and with such device egr will not be a problem. PCV pushes oily mist in intake and egr throws soot, together they cover intake valves and everything else, decreasing air passages. No oil - will make it work.

@@grandkung everything is possible, especially if you have a Mercedes. Find a tuner, they can program it out, but you need EGR during winter. Main problem of EGR is when your engine is worn out, PCv will throw oil in intake where oil meets sooth. If you don't have winter - you can think of removing EGR, I ended up restoring the system...
I had my original M6 screw break off flush with the cylinder head so I could only drill and tap down that far. Now, I just started the car and that injector is blowing by. I DO NOT want to to break the rocker cover and strip these new M10 threads... This is where I am. I will use a split lock washer first, though, and let y'all know how it works.
There's a name for kit, it's for this engine, broken bolt repair kit...

Здравствуйте! Скажите, обшивку крышки багажника можно снять без демонтажа лепестков на SL?
Я не понял что за лепестки. Обшивка над головой , насколько помню, просто хватаешь за заднюю часть и дёргаешь вниз - 90° от железной крыши, там пластиковые креплени насажены на пластиковые заклёпки. Если никто не лазил туда - пластик от обшивки отлетит, там весь клей с 2004 года сам разваливается. Спереди крыша имеет несколько саморезов, по бокам опять защёлки и резина weatherstrip, как бы придерживает. Я снял заднее стекло чтобы затонировать, а также чтобы починить ржавчину, которая у каждого 2го авто этой модели.
Да , обшивку багажника можно путём открытия в кабриолет, но нужно следить чтобы постановить в какой момент уши будут идти на открытие и выбрать наиболее удобный момент, а потом прийти и ключём открыть багажник и поднять его, он будет как в воздухе парить высоко, 2метра. Но когда закрывать - нужно аккуратно, иначе он переведётся в неправильное положение и потом будешь лепестки и богажник со всех сторон. Во общем назад возвращать будет сложновато, но возможно. Я уши двигал отдельным блоком питания.

@@alexgershvin5819 там несколько гаек.можно высверлить старый снаружи и новый тупо приклеить, он идёт со скотчем, внутри останется брэкет металлический. Если очень - можно, если по уму - нужно снимать.

U need two angle brackets cus this is on a window & when u hit bumps this thing will flex the window with its weight & that will crack! Also what u using for power? I am thinking 2x 100ah Lifepo4, 1000w puresine inverter with internal charger & another alternator with temperature controlled voltage regulator, it will be cheaper than purchasing a generator and much cheaper on fuel as the battery will charge when the truck is running, and the setup can power a 5000btu ac for 6-9hrs depending on outside temperature. + When u at somewhere were u have plug power u can plug the inverter into their mains and run the ac + charge the battery. Temparature compensated voltage regulator for the alternator is necessary cus Lifepo4 can consume a lot more current than leadacid and when the engine idles it can cook the alternator by pulling too much current so with the special voltage regulator it will keep the field down to stop overheating & when the engine spinning at highway rpm gets the alternator fan to spin faster it will cool down and produce more amps. Lifepo4 battery will run 10yrs or 3000 full discharge cycles which is a lot. , Inverter has to be puresine wave..i like the meanwell brand a lot thier stuff is top tier quality, i have one of their ups type inverter in my office for almost 10yrs running 24x7 and i have only ever cleaned their fans and insides every year never even have to change a capacitor on them they are very high quality and expensive stuff but u don't need more than 1000w puresine for 5000btu ac.
So in this configuration the ac will die in about 2weeks, it will not fall out. Next year after video I installed similar size new ac, secured the compressor, add some material to pipes, and lasted 2 weeks. Didn't do anything this year, but it's only enough for lower sleeper. Quiet, efficient. Since I didn't do a bracket for the generator - I'm not moving forward towards ac repair. I'm using harbor freight predator quiet generator 1800W.

I had to drill out some material on clamp and on the m10bolt , drill and tap m10 1.5 and I'm good. I was afraid to over tight the bolt, but found that new threads are extremely strong, so fixed a problem.

@@chrislawrence8030 no, there's a company "laser tools 6958" they have a repair kit, specific for this engine, it's about 120$, they have left drill bit, tap, inserts... It will be like stock, no bullshit like I had to do. Look it up in one of the comments in this video or if I have another one, I answered to someone more than a year ago.

I think I have the same problem with mine right now, we have gone to 10mm, and when start the car seems tight and clamp seems tight, then when turnover the engine leaks out and play with injector does this seem like the same problem you had?
Until I enlarged hole in a holder so the bolt doesn't make a holder to stand in I way... Just look at original mount and how it secures the injector. Also I had to torque the bolt more than 6mm. I also used split washer to put a load on a bolt so it acts like a spring. But I suggest to get laser tool kit that helps to repair the problem with original bolts...

It is ~40$, otherwise you can get a correct part number from a dealer or from the article... The seal from x166 is about 120, + oring ~20. I got pcv for x166 om642 paid 40, got oring and a seal....

Disconnect the central module, take out a clock spring, put your wheel, and if you can solder - solder new extended buttons instead of stock ones, and connect everything back.
