Thx for the post. Seems there a video edit around 5:15? It's difficult to note/match the dome light & distant light settings due to the cut. It would help to know the lighting parms: a guide/hints on what you're doing with the gamma/fall-off to achieve the "stylised look", thus nice AOVs. The matchScale SOP helps obtain similar lighting results on a different model. Nice. btw, with the TilePattern1 fix at the end, Houdini Apprentice errored on the ROP Image Output COP. The error said "Copernicus resolution is limited to 1024x1024 in Apprentice". However, reducing the "Default Resolution" parm to 1000x1000 did not clear the error! Oh well. H20.5.370 linux. Nevertheless the tutorial was very informative. Thank-you.
Hi Ben, Thanks for your comment and the info regarding the limitation for the Apprentice version, good to know! Did not check that before.. Regarding the settings for the lights, they were pretty random, and the dome light was left as it is with no settgins change. But I screenshotted the settings out for the lights, which I can send you if you want!:) just write me on Instsagram maybe? @manuel.bonell Cheers!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
tnx
Dear, I deleted UV Distortion and soft falloff by mistake from the common visualizer section and saved it as default how can I get it back again
Thankyou
Would love a detailed video with variant controls and timeshift for each
need hlp some reason my buildings arent scaling at diff heights they all coming in as the same height and i have a down town area with some skylines thats scaling with the same size of all the other buildings anyone have any idea why ?
great tutorial :)! few questions: - when doing the primary roads, the second boolean removes most of my primary roads, any idea why that be happening? it doesnt do that on your video. - for the remaining roads, do you follow the same path/steps applied to primary roads for all of them and then export import ? if you do export and import of primary roads as well, is there any reason why you keep the processing tree for primary roads? (it slows down the processing of the scene for all following steps). - This might be a super silly question (I am super noob in Houdini), the end result is pretty much the OSM import geometry so, why do we need all the steps? Thanks a lot!
Thank you
You are welcome!=)
Excellent! You're appreciated. Please keep it up, and welcome back to UA-cam tutorials!
Thanks!=D Really appreciate it!
welcome back sir, your Houdini tutorials are some of the best and most advanced
Thanks a lot!=D Appreciate it!
Just in time when I really need this type of render in Houdini. Thanks Manuel, its much appreciated.
You are welcome Igor! Happy it helped you!=D
imma use this tip when i start to use houdini
This was good. But also is working with the nodes In order. Merge import node helps you a lot to work in blocks and group once some blocks are finished and if you need to call some node form the instance just use that node and you'll regret to it without having a mess of spiderwebs lol
Thank you!
Thank you!!!
Hello MitzuTa,i want to ask how to render turntable sequence in Karma,thank you so much!
great tutorial, is there a way to import the city model into unreal engine
there is now
Thnks a lot...the best style of learning
You are welcome!=)
Hello! Love this so much. I believe there was an in depth tutorial on how to achieve this effect. I cant find it on your page anymore.
I dont have this node for some reason
Thank you very much!
Great video
Bruh, thanks a lot! Is there a way to disable auto snap all together? Would be useful when organizing the whole network so don't have to keep holding 8.
Yes, there is: in the Node/ Network editor Menubar go to: Tools -> Allow dropping Nodes on Wires (Uncheck)
Thank you !
😮😮😮😮❤
🙌 if you like the format, I have more short format Houdini tips on Tiktok: @mitzu_ta
But that is not working with the "Edit tool" from the shelf

Thank you 🙏🏼
How about setting it up with a sound card?
Ye
Wonderful tutorial, I kindly request you to keep going and add more detail to the buildings, water bodies, bridges, foliage etc.
key frame gives you more control cause you can play with graph the way you want
Yes, indeed!

Very useful. Thanks!
Happy to hear that! You are welcome!
Great tutorial!!! Can you show how to add land and water lines?
Thank you! would need to check if OSM gives this informations as attribites. Of so I could have a look how to do that:)
Difficult to find the information on internet is the top 1
How can I save this video?!!!
💯
This is cool, problem is my computer isn’t Tony Stark’s so rendering would take an eternity
Thanks! Yes rendering is really expensive in time and hardware.:/ its often underestimated when doing animations.. What I sometimes do to save rendertime is using low render quality and an AI denoiser;)
Thank You very much, Manuel!
You are welcome!
sick
Thanks!
