Nobody needs to buy a watch anymore. Watch purchases are discretionary spending whether they be a £50 G Shock or a £15k Rolex. Customers should expect excellent quality control. I’ve never had any QC problems with my cheaper watches or the higher end ones. In the middle? All the time. I’m sending my Oris worldtimer back for the second time because it has so many functional gremlins that it upsets me to have to set it before I wear it.

I always find the issue of homages amusing ! So it's ok for nearly every mid to high end brand to have homages BUT when a micro brand does it " oh my goodness what are these these guys up to , how unscrupulous stealing other companies designs ..... 😂😂 " . Every company , every designer , every artist takes something from others no matter how large or small ! Cheers

My own experience with my SSK005 (that's the orange version) is that the accuracy is actually pretty good. I don't have a timegrapher but I tested it over a 20 day period where I wore it pretty much 24/7. At the end of the period it was1 minute 54 seconds fast compared to my radio-controlled watches, so less than 6 seconds a day. I'm not a fan of the friction type bezel though. It's too easy to bump it out of position. I would have preferred a bezel with clicks. I also agree with you about the Hardlex crystal. Should have been sapphire. I assume there will be aftermarket sapphire crystals available when my Hardlex crystal is beaten up enough to justify a swap.

Great review!! My buddy bought the Ocean rover used for $1,000, I got it from him a year later for $500, beautiful watch. I traded it for a Seiko SPB187 and never looked back. The guy I sold it to flipped it, but kept the bracelet because that’s the best thing about the Ginault. I’ll KEEP my Steinhart!

I have both 813 and 911 but I got more compliment with the 911 and its better on hand. The iterations of red hands looks like a vintage sports car speedometer so sporty and classy well you can have both.

Your thoughts resonated with me as I adore both of these watches for their unique looks and beautiful combination of colors.
