He said the best candidates are already working. That is a dangerous assumption. It’s exactly why does out of a job find it hard in the market because people see their unemployment as a red flag.
Most people network with recruiters but pay more attention to networking with team leaders and managers. They are the ones with the real power to hire.
I am Life Sciences PHD student can I eligible for this kind of jobs??
Thank you for this video. Please id like to know, whois involved in allthese drug development process? A pharmcist or a doctor?
You're welcome - glad you liked it. Pharmacists, doctors and scientists are involved all the way along this process. Along with a plethora of other professionals - project managers, sales teams, lawyers etc. It takes a huge collaborative effort to get a pharma product launched and helping patients!
Excellent writing. I need to improve mine following your advice. One quick question what do you think of including photo on the cv?
Thanks for the kind feedback. Adding a photo or not depends on the country you're in and the norms in that geography. For example in the UK and North America it's not advisable to add your photo. In other places, like some countries in Asia, it is more common place to include your photo

What type of creativity is expected for the pharmaceutical industry?
Thanks for the question. There's a certain 'style' that's expected for all the documents we produce in pharma. Examples probably illustrate this best: search.slidegeeks.com/powerpoint/Pharmaceutical. ...So use of icons, and graphics to make the information as visually appealing as possible is important. Hope that answers your question okay?

My tests were only 45 min to 1 hour! How to prep for those?
I guess these may have been on site. It can be challenging to prep for these. From my experience I've had to write a short summary/abstract, and a copy editing test during an interview day before. You can practice both of these writing deliverables in advance
Other examples are scientific posters and scientific agenda development. That's what I've been given before!
Wow a poster for a test is a big ask! Thanks for flagging this as a potential medical writing test subject too
Love this week's special guest! :) Great tips by the way

You're welcome! Glad you found it useful :)
Fantastic episode, Vicky! I think what not that many people know is that you can technically reschedule an interview if you feel unwell. The worst that can happen is when you come wasted - you can only make your first impression once.
I've been fortunate enough to not have to do that myself yet, but makes perfect sense and certainly a pertinent point Natalia give the current pandemic!
@@biomedbadass4064 Me neither but I think it's a very common misconception worth mentioning. Rescheduling is not unprofessional - sleeping at the interview is.
Super informative, thank you!

Good luck NabilBreda - hope it goes well!
A very useful and concise video. Thank you. Just only one issue still worries my mind. In our days thousands from academia swarm the market. If all of them follow the same strategy, it could make all Cover Letters looks identical and harder to pitch youselves as the most appropriate applicant. But the recommendation to focuse on the company, not youselves is really critical.
