I bought a 2024 Tundra 1794, specifically because the Tundra Recall Notice for crankshaft bearings specified only the 2022 and 2023. The Toyota Dealer explicitly stated to me that the crankshaft bearing problem was fixed for 2024. He was under-informed or lying. As a long time Toyota owner, I believed that Toyota would not still be selling an engine two years after a significant problem was identified. Subsequent to my purchase I learned that the 2024s are blowing up, just like the 2023/2022s, and now there are reports of 2025's blowing up, and reports of the replaced engines blowing up! I unloaded the 2024 Tundra at a significant loss - five days after buying it. I don't like roulette. I feel that both the Toyota Dealer and the Toyota Corporation screwed me. Instead of focusing on reliability in engineering and manufacturing, Toyota has focused on complicated, expensive and increasingly absurd trim items. Complexity is the enemy of reliability. I am done with Toyota. A recall came up in 2024 for the 2022 Tundra SR5. Here’s what it states. There is a possibility that certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced. In the involved vehicles, this can lead to potential engine knocking, engine rough running, engine no start and/or a loss of motive power. Safety Risk: A loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.

I still have my 2003 Tundra Limited 4.7 V8 with a little over 431K miles on it. It use to be a vehicle for work and personal use for the fist 15 years. Now it’s just a work truck and sits three days out of the week, but still does 300 mile a week. It has a few scratches and dings but still is a race horse. I have the money to upgrade to one of these 3rd gen Tundras and even buy it cash, but I’m hearing so many stories of these Tundras having issues. Maybe I’ll wait to take mine to 1/2 million miles. I also have a 2018 1794 that tows my camping trailer on occasion. Awesome truck

Lesson is buy nothing manufactured during covid 2020 to 2023. Supply issues etc effected everything from fridges to vehicles. Also since this video now the engines are going apparently.

Helpful! Hyundai i10 2010 , noticed brake lights were on after parking.. Quick google search asked to disconnect battery to stop battery drain. Then later found this video. And when checked the floor mat, find those broken plastic pieces. Got this replacement button thing from local automobile shop and fixed it myself.😅

I would be more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs ! Hopefully these problems don’t continue after warranty runs out .

That gas mileage is absolutely disastrous. 207mpg average with a f-150 3.5 platinum 6.5' bed. I do like the 1794 interior.

I have the 2025 with a 70,000 mile warranty. Will see how it goes. My 2020 Chevy Z71 was a disaster and spent more time in the shop than on the road

There’s one in my area listed at $4k and has 370k miles. Should I avoid that many miles? It looks like an old man owned it because the seats look borderline new. I almost sent a message to the dealer offering $2,500 but wanted to do some research first. Plus I need to check for rust in person. Great maintenance history on it too

Just bought a 24 SR5 crewmax with no added packages, only add ons are spray on bed liner, floor mats, black emblem over lay. Im happy. Tint, running boards, bed cover. MAYBE wheels. I’m a Toyota team member at TMMK. Got a great deal. Issues seem to be lessening. 3k oil changes in the winter, 5k in the warm months. 90%+ highway driving. Cruise control is your best friend. Life time warranty on the engine/trans. In the couple days of owning it I have fall in LOVE with the truck. I have confidence in the truck and Toyota, God forbid something happen. I believe maintenance is a HUGE factor as well

Bought a 2006 Sequoia for a good back up car recently. 1 month of ownership and the rear hatch wouldn't open. Couldn't get the part from your link, but made my own lever from an old bracket of sorts...took less time than I had thought it would. Works great!!

No it’s not the best. Too many issues with 4wd system. Tcase actuator / Traction / abs / emergency break light on/ and so on / abs pump turns on when going off on ramp and pulsating the brake pedal/ doors don’t hold itself- keep closing / rear trunk latch / rear window doesn’t work / regret buying it.

We changed it at brakes plus

I’ve been told to NEVER buy the first year of any new-generation vehicle. Bugs are worked out in later years. I got the 2023 TRD 4x4 OFF-ROAD with 33k miles. Heavy foot, runs great (and FAST). ☕️

Aftet engine was replaced on my 1794 still had problems!!! Engine had to be replaced again i got rid of it asap!!!!

In order for this too work do you have to remove the first black plastic piece or will it work with it still in there? The piece you threw on the ground is what I'm talking about
