Thanks buddy. Yeah I haven’t put anything out in a little bit. My tracks current state is sad to look at. First year I let it go during the winter. Most years I would actually pull the pipe up and grade it out flat or make like a freestyle bash area with a couple monster jumps. But that gets expensive. I feel like we’ve had two straight months of rain and snow here in Jersey’s. I just keep the curtains shut so I can’t see it lol.

Yeah it’s funny how that happens. People get bored or don’t want to do the work. I’m a one man crew over here and honestly I prefer that most of the time. I use it as my workout arms find it therapeutic where at end of a good rake session you can turn around and have something to show for the work and get to enjoy it. I’m in New Jersey!

@@backyardrcracing yep everyone wants to race until you need help with the track then they are done with it or they are not that interested in rc racing. i cant come race with or help out man we are a long way from each other im in mississippi. your track is so nice you could have sanctioned pro races there.

A question I’m asked often for sure lol. The story is quite long but my approach throughout the evolution of “The Track” was act first then ask for forgiveness and convincing her with statements like “I could be at the bar” or reminding her I could be away from the house driving hrs away to go to a track since there is none within two hrs from home. Also, it helped that we just put our in ground pool in and I was doing most of the work as far as regrading the yard, setting the shed… so the one day she came home I had ordered in three extra tri-axels of dirt and I told her I must’ve underestimated the dirt we needed I totally forgot about the dirt I’d need for “The Track”. She rolled her eyes and the rest is history. We all have our dedicated outdoor spaces, she gets the pool, I get the track area and I built a large playground area for the kids, complete with a zip line that takes you from the playground pass the pool to the track lol. Of course I made strong enough to support me as well! Note: this is not relationship advice, I am not legally trained to give relationship advice just sharing my experience lol!

@backyardrcracing I rode bmx and mx my whole life, I literally have shovels tattooed on me. I live in central jersey and there is nothing for legit outdoor rc tracks around here so I said f-it I'm just gonna dig in the woods like I always have. So now I got something going and man I didn't realize how much I missed digging, shaping, and designing jump layouts. Lost 30lbs in a month from digging lol, yea my adhd flairs up like a pack of hemmoriods.

@backyardrcracing hey dude I was just thinking, about 8 years ago I got my stepson into rc and I remember us watching a cool video that I think was called "tekno rc whips" and if my memory is right it was a backyard track and I'm thinking it may have been one of your videos possibly? If it was do you have a link to it? The whips looked so good and I wanted to show a friend the video but I can't find it anywhere on UA-cam. It had Techno music and alot of flashing in the edit.

I think I know the videos you are talking about, unfortunately it wasn’t mine. But what’s funny is l lthink I may have seen that video recently on a FB group. If you aren’t a member of backyard RC tracks on fb you should check it out. There is way more interaction with other track builders and now up to like 70k members. Anyway, in response to your other comment, I too grew up in the woods with shovels building bmx jumps (legit sections) but my main sport was motocross. I actually went Pro for a little in my late teens and early 20s and then… yup I met my wife and settled down. Also was getting crazy on street bikes too which I had to give up before I ended up dead. But after selling everything and starting my family, my first daughter and I made it a thing to travel around to find the sweetest parks for her to play at. That was fun but I always had the itch that only ppl like us understand. I was missing that 2 stroke smell ripping on something… anything. So I went and bought a HPI savage nitro truck which also has gears in it where you can tune the shift points and I was immediately hooked. A year later I had approximately 30 RCs… but then my next challenge was where to run them because as you mentioned zero tracks around and quickly got bored of construction sites. Fast forward a couple years and here I am. But I can relate to all you said that’s why I took the time to share. I eventually did double down and by a tractor to help with maintenance and layout changes but there is nothing like a 4hrs rake session that at end of it you turn around and have a master piece of dirt art to appreciate it’s a workout and therapeutic as well. I’m out there till midnight a lot cause I sometimes can’t get out there till I get the kids and wife to bed. Good shit man feel free to come check out the track some time. Hit me up!

Amazon 4 - 45000 lumen leds as the main lighting then as the track evolved added some smaller lights ones where needed. I ran a cable across the track from my shed to a tree for the top section of the track so all lighting is pointing down and away from my house and neighbors. Because Im out there late sometimes. A good rake session can go on well into the night!

@@backyardrcracing I was assuming they were wired. I have solar led flood lights on poles. They are multifunction but for the brightest setting they are still motion activated. The sensors don’t pick up the cars right now because of the angle. If you hit certain spots just right they work so I know they are sensitive enough. I just have to figure out the angle. That is a sweet setup though. Lots of thought went into it and you accomplished it perfectly! I subscribed to get you to your 1000! Also just picked up an eBay Tekno EB48 2.0 after driving my buddies EB48SL Short Course conversion. I can’t wait to dial it in!

@@bigd4136 yeah man those solar lights are for the birds lol. Don’t get me wrong I guess they work for some applications but they weren’t doing it for me. And the motion activated forget it lol I used to snap whenever they would shut off. There is some that can put out some lumens but they are pricey. My shit looks like an arena when lit up. Lol. I take my drone up and it looks awesome. 🤩 Thank you for the sub. 1000 subs has been a slow creep. I could probably promote it but it is what it is. I appreciate every sub!

@@backyardrcracing yeah I am debating running lights off a generator. My track is way in my backyard away from any power source. That’s why I gave the solar a shot. Just gotta play around, something will eventually work out 😂

@@bigd4136 oh and I forgot the coolest part is I wired them up to a remote so I can turn them on off from wherever on my property. It’s great to see ppls reactions when they don’t know I have the track. Then when we are sitting by the pool I hit the lights on and it’s priceless.

Sleep when you’re dead! I’m out there till midnight a lot. I bought my neighbors sleep mask for Christmas lol and I told my one neighbor that she should thank me for the life long subscription to free tanning from the UVs my track lights are giving off. I’m thankful for the neighbors that I have though.

@backyardrcracing just get her a cheap rc and she'll be out there too. I'm off work at 9 and will be digging by flashlight for a few hours this evening. New tabletop needs watering and packing.
