To be fair though, the Witcher games have always been dark fantasy with darker themes. Them saying they want to see a fantasy world through a women’s perspective is probably more about defending Ciri as the main character than anything else. I’d like to give CDPR due the the great games they have made and the way they turned cyberpunk around, but let’s hope it’s not another studio that ruins itself with the DEI virus that hit others.

You can definitely see where the developers from CDPR have gone. Just compare trailer "TW Wild Hunt" and this game.

I think you’ve gone too deep into this diversity stuff. CDPR is a polish studio based in Poland there is no diversity drive there at all, literally 0 but because they sell their products in the US they have to appeal to that diverse market. Basically what’s happened is some devs didn’t want to work on the projects the company wanted so they broke off and developed their own game

The thing is, a Ciri game could work. But she wouldn’t have trouble being a female in "medieval" times, cos it’s a fictional world; not England in the 1700’s. She’s a Witcher, she solves the trouble. So from the start, they’re cocking this up by making Ciri a "vulnerable woman" when she should be a badass woman.

Witcher's are an allegory for minorities already. Geralt is hated, shunned and treated differently because he's a Witcher. I hate to break it to you but these games have always dealt with social justice issues just like the books. If you're not smart enough to understand this very heavy handed sub text it's not wonder you're so worried and surprised at this. As if it's the first time this story has gone "woke". Also CDPR has retained 50% of of original Witcher staff FOR A DECADE when the average studio has a turn over rate of 20% per year. It literally doesn't get better than this.

If you leave aside the obvious pandering and attacking of fans by the devs at CDPR, I don't think that having Ciri portrayed as a woman struggling in the Witcher world is a big deal. She is a likable enough protagonist and Sapkowski's books had parts that were very dedicated to addressing the hardships women would face in a brutal and unforgiving world were physical power means dominance and weakness can mean death unless you could help yourself out with magic. The books go out of their way to show Ciri struggling and face dangers, she is clearly not suited to face yet and guess what, for the most part she is terrified, dragged around as a captive and more than one time severly wounded. All this makes her believable and sympathetic. As long as CDPR don't pull the common lazy strong wahmen trope, interject weird stuff that doesn't belong there and show her to be superior at anything against anyone else and constantly berate me about how to do better, I'm fine with the change of perspective. Yet still they'd have to explain a lot concerning how Ciri wound up as a Witcher. Anyway Dawnwalker looks amazing as hell and I'm definitely going to give it a try.

It was already very quite obvious that they were going to be using ciri. That was the theory since the game was announced. So now you guys are upset that it's going to take the perspective of ciri like you guys make no f****** sense. Yeah of course it's going to go and tackle some of the issues that a woman would face during medieval times. Why? Because ciri's a woman I don't want a reskin of geralt. That's boring. Not saying geralt is abad character. Geralt is a great character but you guys are just complaining because you're not getting him Siri is a woman. You remember how you were as a kid back in the ps1, 2, and GameCube days. Where you got the game and would read the back of the cd case over and over till you got home to play it. That's kinda how I feel about this game. The passion they are showing us they have for their game. I'm stoked.

The amount of nonsense that is said abroad about CDPR is incredible. I am Polish, I even know a few people working in Cdproject and Rebel Wolfes. The truth is that there are still a lot of people in Cdproject who worked on W3 in 2016 (about half). Additionally, both teams are rooting for each other and counting on success. Woke W4 is a total invention of people from abroad who combined the vision of Ciri as a protagonist that was already talked about in 2018 with the current trend of forcing women into games in the USA (in the West). Witcher 4 is not Woke.
