2024 NMA Rimrock GP Senior B
Переглядів 27828 днів тому
First chance to get to race the NMA Rimrock GP after watching friends race it for 3 or 4 years. What a blast and a one of a kind type of race. That is one thing i think NMA does best is the races are all so different from one another and unique . Results have me at 19th place out of 22 in class and 166 overall out of 280ish ridets in the morning race. Raced the Senior B class with i am guessing...

Time to drain the blood and clean the lungs, click the clickers and tighten the bolts getting the #kx250x ready to go for the NMA at Rimrock. Been trying to make it to this race for years.

Ohh boy we go from riding the YZ125x for months to jumping on the exact opposite bike, the 2022 KX450x. Everything about this bike is the opposite of the YZ. But man is it fun.

Can it work with kfx 450r ?
@christguert8326 i have no idea. If you register your bike with www.kawisaki.com then go to my bike accessories it will show what works with your bike. Mine showed the calibration tool. And I know it works for the kx models.
This is such an interesting looking race. Maybe I’ll make it up there sometime.
Ir is such a blast if you like fast and rocks. Got from 5th gear pinned to rock garden to 5th gear pinned around the stump, roots, tree. Lol I highly recommend.
Do u have Facebook sir? My boyfriend want to have conversation with u.he also ride
I’m jealous of that dirt. Everything here is a dustbowl with no rain in sight. Looked like a fun time!
@DirtBikingwithDonnie ya i seen your last video and it was looking dry as a bone. Hope you guys get some rain to ease the dust. The way the weather is getting cool quick we might be headed for snow in the mountains shortly.
Super rad Randy, this video kicks ass. The first picture from back in the day was really cool!
@@highdesertaggrorc7801 thanks dude, glad you enjoyed it. it was fun to make. 👍
Cool edit Randy. The yeehaw got me 😂😂😂
Thanks dude. Been meaning to make this for a while but finally got it done. Finding good old pics on my 3 wheeler was a challenge.
@@Randy_Cox My childhood friend recently sent me a pic from when I was 15 on my CR500. Wild to see those old photos now.
@@CodyRaue oh man. We never had good bikes when I was a kid. 125 3 wheeler was cool, but not fast. Had a Suzuki 100 duel sport turd from the late 70s early 80s. I loved riding but never had a capable bike. Rode several friends cr125, cr250, rm250 bikes but normally just for a 2 min ride. When I got my 2022 kx250x my mind was blown.
@@Randy_Cox I was fortunate enough to be able to race a bit in high school. My dad raced on occasion so it was a family affair. Now me and both my boys race. Though I'm down for a while, broke 5 ribs in the last race. Glad to see you're making new memories!
@@CodyRaue I wish I would have raced when I was younger, but we didn't have funds for it when I was a kid, heck half the time I struggle with funds now.🤣 I feel ya with the down time. In 22 I crashed on my xr650l and broke 9 ribs, punchered my lung, broke my collar bone. 3 days in the hospital with a dain tube in my chest was super fun, but it happens.
Sir??
What is your question?
That looks like a fun course. Definitely has it's hazards. Good riding Randy!
Thanks dude. Ya it is treacherous as it gets. Rocks everywhere, drop offs, g outs, stumps, deep sand...lots of fun.🔥🔥
Looking good on the bike buddy, nice riding!!! About the 40 minute mark you make a couple good moves, im definitely kicking myself for missing this one.
@@chrismoulds7988 thanks dude. I am still super slow but figuring a few things out. 👍
It was nice meeting you man. Who knows I might be back next year
@@Oregon86Silverado_12v Great meeting you also dude. It was a tough one, but so much fun. I will definitely be back again next year to tackle the lake bed again, Lord willing.
Shout out from the Philippines
Every year after watching guys vids of this race I say I’m gonna do it next year. Well I’m still saying that now. Great ride so far 21min in. I’m going next year for sure.
It is a lot of fun if you don't go splat.😂
I have a 21 kx 250x, how do you like the full FMF? And which one is it?
Mine is the stainless steel mega bomb header and 4.1 muffler. I am not 100% sure if the muff is the stainless, that i ordered, or titanium. Think weight is only diff. I love it. Barks hard, never failed sound checks, came with FS approved spark arrestor. Made in America really not sure what else i could ask for. They seem tough and robust but I will be honest I don't trash my bikes, I typically don't get trail rash on my mufflers. The worst wear is on my 450 and it is just the sticker needs replaced.😂😂
The tusk hour meters are trash. The amazon one never failed me not once.
I am starting to feel that way about a lot of the Tusk China made stuff. The tools I have had ok luck with but have been hearing more and more reports of poor clutches, poor brake pads, ect. Guess it is all about putting money where you need it to work and knowing where you can go cheap.
GIVE ME A DIRTBIKE PLEASE
Sorry dude no handouts around here. You want nice stuff learn to work for it. I been working since I was 16 years old and full time since I was 18 and only now that I am 45 can I afford nice things.
this is either a perfectly good question or a stupid question but how can it be an OHV if its a 2 stroke?
@rykerbergeman7328 the only dumb question is the one not asked. The OHV i am referring to is an Off Highway Vehicle area. All the offroad areas in Oregon are called OHV areas. But your correct, the YZ125x being a 2 stroke engine has no over head cam at all or any type of cam for that matter.👍
About time you did some maintenance on your bikes 😂😂
@@fivetwentythreepov I figured everyone was bored of oil and air and nothing more. These bikes are so easy to maintain i don't do much.🤣
First off, I really appreciate you making this video. I was so confused watching other videos and just thinking “they need to make an ‘explain like I’m 5 years old” for all of this. That being said, the setup is sooooo dumb in my opinion. I live in Bend but I’ll stick to the desert 100 in Odessa Washington where they line every single racer up, fire a cannon and everyone takes off. First riders of their class at the finish after 100 miles wins!
@oherroprease207 your welcome dude. And for the most part I agree. I have done a few ISDE format races and I do not like them at all. Races are races and fastest win, not penalized if your too fast or have to wait for a clock to go again. The worst part about them is most are super long. 100 miles or 80 miles and a guy just wants to go as fast as he can and not think about timing and scoring, just ride, but ISDE your always second guessing your time, the clock, your pace. I would 100% rather do Sprint Enduro style races.
Quick rips are the best
I wish i could ride after work! Whats your job?
1st view
Ride it like you mean it boy. I'm 51 and 5ft8 and would hold that puppy straight up until red line
Randy, your an animal, this guy doesnt give a damn if its dark, he wants to rip. Let em rip😂
@RIDEreviewRELOAD ya I didn't really plan that one out very well. It is getting darker faster and I had a late start. I don't have lights on any of my bikes so I don't play with darkness.....except when I mess it up and do. Time to buy a helmet light for the practice helmet so when my stupidity shows I can still see to get home.🤣
I have a 24 kx450x. It can be tuned via the rideology app and looks almost exactly like the tuning charts on your tuner. 17:57 Do these go hand in hand with eachother? I don’t quite understand how the tuning works. No one has explained it like you did so this video helped a lot.
@christopherwhite28 I have no experience with the ideology app. My buddy has a 2024 but I have not gotten to mess with it. I spent years tuning cars, turbo cars and everything else with a engine so tuning the timing and fuel is easy for me, but I remember how confused I was when starting. They should be similar the only thing I don't know, and kawi doesn't say, is how much adjustment .5 or 1 or 1.5 means as degree of timing or time of fuel injector opening. So what was 1 degree timing on the calibration tool might not be 1 degree on the rideoogy app. So go slow, make little changes and if you hear any knock, back off or get higher octane gas.
@@Randy_Cox Thanks for the advice. 93 is pretty much all I’ve ever ran in my bikes/quads. Would love to see you mess with the rideology app as well, there’s no videos on UA-cam of anyone using it.
Ya tuning via videos is pretty looked down on by a lot of people because it is one of those things if you don't know what your doing you can destroy your bike. I try and help and give basic understanding for it so people can learn.👍 I will see if I can mess with my buddies bike or talk him into doing a video
@@Randy_Cox Appreciate it! Ride safe👍
@christopherwhite28 you also and enjoy the ride!👍 My 2022 bikes seem old now when I see so many 2024 and now 2025 bikes around.
Hey, nice video. I just rode Ed's 390 yesterday and I had a blast! It has more power than I was expecting, It's a great bike...
@makice607 Awesome. Ya I was not sure what to expect as I had not been around Beta before. Ergonomic were a little strange to me but ya that bike is smooth and strong.👍
I like the breakdown between the 125 and 450.
Do you ever run into problems with your coolant temp riding the trails?
@curtisrudock1875 Just trail riding no, but racing in the mud yes it will overheat real quick. I have put a higher pressure radiator cap and a fan kit on the bike to help prevent over heating and that has helped a bunch.
@Randy_Cox I put a boyesen water pump on and switched to engine ice and that helped me alot with it warming. Next I'm getting the fan kit to try out.
@curtisrudock1875 Just be sure and buy a high quality battery to go with the fan kit. The fan kit with the stock battery left my bike dead a bunch of times till I could get a good battery.👍

Hi?
@jashfermaglinte8500 howday. Hope your enjoying the video.👍
Yes fav bike
My boyfriend loves your yz125 sounds like 🐝
@jashfermaglinte8500 Glad you guys enjoy.👍👍
I've noticed you've been riding the yz125x a lot the past couple months. Do you like it more than the other bikes?
It's a Yamaha.. How can he not?!?! 😂😅
@MountainMXOfficial the yz125x was bought as a cheap practice and training bike. Putting the old mantra of 2 strokes are cheaper to the test. I have not owned enough bikes to have much personal experience to see if that is true or not. Both my kx250x and yz125x at 80 hours I replaced pistons and rings and they both looked almost new.🤣 The low power of the 125 makes you ride different and learn to shift, clutch and maintain corner speed in a way you just don't do on a 450. Hoping the skills I am practicing make me a better rider.👍
@@Randy_Cox as you can tell I'm a #blucru fanboy 😆
@CodyRaue we all have our issues.🤣 I love all Japanese dirt bikes and don't mind a few others. I grew up riding Hondas, Suzuki and Yamaha.
@@Randy_Cox so true
What's up Randy? Went out and rode there today. Was pretty nice for xmas valley. Been a few years since I've been out there but watching yer vid gave me an inkling to check it out again... Glad I did..
@rsumner1b Good deal dude. I was thinking with the weather and rains that came through it would be pretty great conditions. Glad you had a good time.👍
Is this the lower parking at Rock creek???
@chrismoulds7988 yes I parked and took off from the lower OHV staging area.
I really like the quick fill lids. Praying mine don't implode. I better keep a better eye on venting them.
@CodyRaue if it goes from hot in the sun to cold over night or the opposite without the vent open...it ain't good.🤣
@@Randy_Cox Generally mine are in the garage. Or at the races we end up venting them just because I'll fill everything up before practice and suck.
The 125 is so at home in that stuff
@CodyRaue yes sir. From lugging around in the rocks to screaming down the gravel tunnels it's always a fun time.👍
I need more trees in my rides.
@@fivetwentythreepov we all do. I dig the big old growth trees that make the forest dark and moist.👍👍
😂 classic
I think it's pronounced In-te-geee (like... GEE Whiz)
Your lucky you get to ride often, have to drive an hour or more to get to most good trails around here. I feel you bro this sport is expensive as hell sometimes😂
I spent my time living in cities and being trapped in suburban hell. Can't hunt, fish or offroad. I am too much of a country boy for that jazz. I need wide open spaces and clean air with only farmers for traffic. Once you get out of the city OHV areas are almost always closer.
@@Randy_Cox i can relate!
What handlebar bag is that? I'm looking to get one
@CodyRaue My bar bags are all @butteryfilms bags. Think they are made by @thrillseekers and made in limited batches. They work great to keep your phone, keys whatever secure and protected.
@@Randy_Cox Nice. Thanks bud!
Yeehaww. I am ready for some wet rainy woods riding soon.
@@fivetwentythreepov I can skip the wet rainy stuff and just do more woods riding.
@@Randy_Cox well it’s hot down here, I’m tired of the 100deg stuff, I want to splash some puddles like a kid lol.
@fivetwentythreepov can't argue with that. 👍👍
8:49 yeeehaaawww. Randy just living his best life on the 2t in the forest 😂🎉

@marshallgerston4809 dude I got to ride it for a few mins. It ain't mine and for the most part I don't care. Cool to share with people who wanna check it out, and those people know what it is, and that's it, video over, fade to black and the internet trolls creep out.🤣
The 125 small bore bikes sure sound amazing.
@patrickrushtonAussierider I agree my dude I agree. 🔥🔥

@@comp420sot 🤣🤣
F$ck it and go! Best mindset on a 125! Getting fast on that thing 👊🏻👌 those ruts look gnarly love the moto content
@RIDEreviewRELOAD thanks dude glad your enjoying. 👍
I'm really thinking about getting a 2 stroke aa second bike. My first real dirtbike was a cr500 when I was a teenager. But always had 4t since. A yz250x would be great for now technical riding.
Worth getting a 125? Seems like a ton of fun.
@MountainMXOfficial I think having a 125 has helped my riding a ton. Learning to clutch to control rpm, keep your speed in corners so you don't slow down and just the overall fun and sound of the bike is pretty great. The 125 Dream Race is 100% awesome event and Lord willing I will attend each year they do it.
I've got a tall seat foam for my yz450 being 6'4". It definitely helps provide more knee area to grip for us taller guys. But also makes going from sitting to standing easier. I think you just wanted a reason to keep looking down.... Lol lol lol
Ya I have been wanting a seat concepts tall seat for the Yz I just have not gotten around to it yet. Ya the weiner cam was a HUGE success.🤣 It was to show how tall guys can "grip with your knees", but even after watching it people are like....dude try gripping with your knees.🤣
@@Randy_Cox lol. I think I have the guts seat foam. The seat concepts one looks nice too.
