In 1991, i saw the queen of England fly into Austin TX on the Concord. I remember it well. It sounded even better than it looked.

I hope they shot this on 16mm or 35mm film format as well and not just in old analogue standard def video

Almost correct but only 7 British and 6 French production airframes saw service. The remaining 3 production airframes were cannibalized for spare parts to help keep the 13 in-service airframes flying.

This is my new favorite Christmas carol.Have not heard this song for decades and just heard it on the Colbert Report.The true meaning of Christmas within a three minute song. I think I will give it a try once I find my page.

I could watch this all day long. Miss the days of the summer and 11:00 local time and you could feel heathrow go quiet as she applies full power with afterburners. Living under heathrow flightpath is boring without concorde :(

@fsxaddictx "and horrible fuel efficiancy." Well, first, the word's "efficiency"... and second, it depends on how you measure it. If measured solely by fuel burn, particularly per seat, then yes, highly inefficient. If measured by fuel usage as a percentage of thrust, then Concorde's engine + ramping system is actually among the most efficient ever built, even today.

TU-144D and TU-144L editions were able to supercruise and cross the transonic barrier without reheat as well. Also, several current fighters can supercruise (and theoretically accelerate to M1.0) without afterburn as well.

@WarthogMist08 Sorry, but you have no clue as to what you're talking about. BA's Concorde was profitable post 1985. After AF pulled out in 2003, Airbus canceled mtx support because they couldn't justify the COST of doing so for one carrier, which would've raised BA's COST of operation above anything revenue could recoup. So yes, Airbus did have a significant role in retirement, because BA couldn't soldier past 5months without their support.

With Concorde, the Ara of economic transatlantic flights, died also. It was not only faster, it used only a third of fuel as a B747 or an A380, for the flight. Cool, even the pilots took photos and videos, knowing that it'll be one of Concorde's last flights.

@WarthogMist08 British airways made a fortune from Concorde. Tickets were so expensive they only had to sell half the tickets to recoup their costs and Concorde averaged of 99% seats sold. At one point Concorde made over 60% of BA profits. Airbus that supplied spares was unable to make a profit, particularly after Air France withdrew it's Concorde services and withdrew support to British Airways.
