After nearly calling it quits around 2AM, Janeth had to dig deep and find a way to push forward... and she did! Lavy paced Janeth for much of the night and Patrick came in during the early morning and also helped pace Janeth in for her finish: 29 hours, 47 minutes, 30 seconds.
Chris offers Christine a sandwich and Farts
Переглядів 83211 років тому
After pacing at Western States 100 all night, Tony and I drive back to Christine's house to pick up our dogs. Exhausted, we end up taking a 6 hour break on Christine's couches. I offer Christine a Jack in the Box sandwich while humming to the cat. At the same time, I belt out loud thunderous fart and her cat stares at me. Christine loved that sandwich.

    Whitney is not easy, but it is not technical at all (no crampons or ice axe needed). Just depends on how your body responds to elevation. I don't acclimate well, so I was really hurting above 12,000 feet. You can bag the peak in one long day, but I recommend splitting it up in two days.

    After watching this video, I checked out your channel to see the next video where you finished the accent to the summit. couldn't find the video, but I noticed you were a Captain in the armed forces. Thank you for your service and for convincing me not to do Whitney. As you just finished a tour in Iraq, I can only assume that you are in pretty good shape. And with you huffing and puffing at 12,000 ft, I'm sure if I attempted that hike, I would be wrecked.

    The Malamute is mine and the Newfoundland is my friends dog, but they have known each other for most of their lives and get along just fine. So living in the same house was never a problem. Just gets crowded with two 120 lb dogs in the kitchen begging for food! Ha ha!

  • @HudsonRiverMalamutes

    Love these videos of them swimming :) My husband and I were also torn between a Mal or a Newfie. Went with Mal though I'd still like a newfie. Are the dogs both yours? Do you think they are a good match to have in the same home?

  • @HudsonRiverMalamutes
    @HudsonRiverMalamutes 12 років тому

    @lampard8soccer Hey I was in the same position as you, I still want a Newfie though! They are so gorgeous and sweet! Newfies are bigger but Mals are also big! My boy is 8 months old and weighs 50kg at the moment! Newfies are very strong but I'd guess that a mal would be better suited to your shepherd... but not sure really. Hudson play beautfully with his German Shepherd friend! Newfs are known as gentle giants. Check out my page for lots of videos of Hudson from 4 weeks old!x

  • @Foggypaws

    Usually a newfie is bigger. Both are very active. Both are pretty friendly dogs.
