All those kicks I’m sure plenty nuts been cracked
Weak...shallow, ..busted...
Can not even get a note🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have always loved the Nutcracker. I love the music. I love the ballet. I would love to see this version in person. Hopefully next year, they will take the show on tour.
Another black washed story. This is an example of when people can’t make something new and unique. Disney even promoted slavery with “the woman king”. Just more black washed history.
Lmao&smh...doodoo brown.
??????
The only thing that hip-hop about this is are the move. The music does not go
Personally I “liked” this presentation of The Hip Hop Nutcracker; but rather “LOVED” the presentation of The Urban Nutcracker. The latter presentation is closer to the original whereas I got the jest of the story … it was easier to follow. Albeit, The Hip Hop Nutcracker was well-performed.
This is trash. Tchaikovsky weeps
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo
‘Hip Hop’ with hardly any Black people in sight? WOW! All I see are Latinos, Bi-racials, and others. No wonder it looks a hot mess.
Do they rap or speak?????
If this featured the original costumed characters and stage decor, this would be a run away hit. The dancers are incredible👏👏👏
It sounded like a great idea but now that I watch it I'm horrified. Make it stop.
I love it but I wish the costumes were more intricate
Outstanding guys! You made this a really cool proyect!
weaves in and out between hip hop and crumping
I’m a ballet mom so I spent 18+ years watching rehearsals and performances, volunteering for the sewing committee, student matinees, etc. My daughters (and my youngest son for one season) started out as mice and baby angels and climbed the ranks to company soloists... so I’m a bit (actually VERY) partial to the traditional Nutcracker. I can see how hip hop might work for fight scene... maybe Chinese (Tea) and Russian (Trepak) even... but Snow Scene, Waltz of the Flowers, Grand Pas De Deux...??? I can see how it might be popular for some, but I am going to stick to the ballet version...
As a POC (Person of Color) I like the representation aspect of it and I like that other girls and boys of color can see themselves represented on stage however as a ballet lover, fan, and audience member I prefer the traditional (ballet) nutcracker I like that version better it’s definitely something I would watch more too I think some traditions should go away should like ballet having a typical aesthetic of a white/European look that should go away but i think a story like the nutcracker shouldn’t be recreated or touched because it is a classic and it is a tradition I think the nutcracker (ballet) should just stay the way it is. And I think fans even people who aren’t fans of ballet would agree. I think they probably prefer the ballet version more as well
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ❤
That was so funnn🥰🥰❤️
dumbest it I've ever seen
I feel like this has so much potential... where’s the Hamilton guy. We need him. Someone go get him. I want to see this be great!
SAME!!
wtf did I just witness
Thoroughly enjoyable!!!!
Should be televised
This Is so stupid, you don't change one of the most beautiful and famous ballets that Tchaikovsky made into hip hop. The nutcracker is a delicate, beautiful ballet that should never change. So what in the world are you guys doing!?
I agree with you 100%!!!
I watched a video about it they said they wanna open up peoples minds because people see “the same traditional nutcracker” their words not mine when In reality “the same traditional nutcracker” is apart of peoples holiday traditions and loved by a lot of people
It’s in my opinion, that if it’s supposed to be Hip-Hop, the music should have Hip-Hop beats/rhythms. Also, it would be beneficial to have some narration, for those who don’t know the story. I firmly believe, that is the key to understanding this classical piece.
People can always read a synopsis prior to the show..
The magical creativity of it is that it kept the original music to the original ballet and instead of ballet it was hip hop break dancing and the idea of introducing break dancing in the ballet forum was in itself amazing and done so tastefully well. ❤
It was so fucking ass don’t go
It feels awkward with the music not also having, at the very least, a subtle hip-hop beat. The moves and costumes don't match the sounds.
This is one of those things you have to see in person to truly appreciate it. Unfortunately it's not available anywhere on UA-cam, but take my word for it. I was unsure what I was getting into when my friend gave me a ticket to go see it when they came to VA while on tour. Boy was I surprised? It's choreographed really well and tells a story! Adding a hip hop beat would have made it too cheesy imo. Being able to stick to the original score while still giving it a true hip hop vibe takes talent. If they tour again in your city, I highly recommend you check it out! :D
I love this show is a lot of people that dance do things together everybody have fun HTP HOP NUTCRACKER🎥 we need more videos more videos🎥
Has there ever been something so pedestrian? Asking for a friend.
I I def love hip hop & I also love the Nutcracker, but this biz is bumming me out for some reason? Maybe it’s actually the costumes (or lack thereof)? Yeah, pretty sure the casualness of this show doesn’t feel right to me at all.
That's exactly how I'm feeling about it. I like hiphop & classical music, especially The Nutcracker. I really wanted to like it but I just can't. I can't tell if it's the choreography that doesn't seem to gel right with the music, lack of costumes, the fact that it kind of feels like a mediocre high school drama production that had access to good stage props & lighting or a combination of all of the above. LOL The dancers are talented but a good production is more than just the performers.
Money Bags you said it... high school production. That’s def it!
@@moneybags999 GO WITH YOUR GUT. I just saw this with my family, not as professional as we expected.
@@susansaphire5983 Ok. Thanks for confirming what I was feeling. What was the cost of a ticket to see the show? I'm curious about how much they had the nerve to charge.
@@moneybags999 depends on the seats, my tickets were 65 dollars for not too great seats.
I saw this on PBS. I am going this December in Grand Prairie, TX.

Y'all dance rediculous. Where are the black American people who invented HIP HOP??!!! Y'ALL LOOK TERRIBLE TRYING TO APPROPRIATE OUR DANCE STYLE. NOW you make millions? And you don't have actual black looking people in your cast? How racist and colonizer this is taking stuff that ain't yours acting like it's your in. What about behind scenes what blacks are producing, directing, and choreographing this because it don't look like the inventors touched this at all.

You can go to hiphopnutcracker.com, the entire cast is black with the exception of one Latina woman who is the chief choreographer... so you’re wrong. I’m sorry the cast is too mixed, you’re right their skin should be darker, I guess they aren’t real black people?? Ridiculous Also, how are you watching a hip-hop style Tchaikovsky and somehow white people are the ones doing the appropriating still? Lmao
I enjoyed it and so did my granddaughter...she's 4.
Was at the show last night in Seattle and loved the performance.
I went to the play
I want to see this so bad...
Went to see the show last night. Simply amazing!
Patrick how long is the show
what the????
Wth is this. The music should of been some banging beats.
this is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.
why?
chocomycoco classical music from the nutcracker with a bunch of people breakdancing. It’s pretty silly I watched for a minute and it’s kinda embarrassing to watch. They are good dancers don’t get me wrong but a silly idea. Not everyone likes the same thing. Maybe that answers your question as to why that guy thinks it’s dumb
It really doesn’t tell the story not my fav
Is that dj boo?
My friend was in this show
CRINGE
MASSIVE CRINGE!!!
why do they call this hip hop nutcracker? just call it some ghetto christmas shit... what an offense to the traditional story.
what a fun idea
I hope this is a free show?
would go if someone gave me a ticket and a lot of money also.
😁 I'm in love with it
Me too!!!!
