Currently 3 weeks into my bio degree and York and I feel the same. I feel so out of place here and uncomfortable...I'm gonna wait it out a couple of months I hope that once I've found a good group of friends things will get better.

thank you for sharing ❤️ i think videos like these are so refreshing and necessary to watch, especially for ppl like me as a year 13 med applicant i have friends who think life is over if they’re rejected from medical school and it’s heartbreaking, it is a degree that makes people so self-condemning, with imposter syndrome and deadly comparison, we always forget that there are other options out there ill admit any time someone mentions if i have looked into other professions i get a stab in the chest😭😭😭but im definitely more open to pathways into medicine than i was back in year 12 i always thought the journey had to be linear, and it really doesn’t have to be; something I never thought I would ever consider was a gap year, but now I’m 50/50 on uni or gap year next year, id definitely say that’s growth! we are so so young and think everything has to happen now, but we have time, let’s look at the bigger picture, because that relief you get from knowing that your journey into your dream profession doesn’t have to be linear is like no other :,) God bless you xxx

i used to be so extremely deadset on med too, until i decided on pharmacy, letting go of the idea of being a doctor hurts but once you honestly see it for what it is, you realize you’re not missing out on much ❤
