Semi truck accident got me thinking...

To me there is a few reasons to buy cars. 1. Fascinated by all the different types of power plants, hybrids, turbos, supercharged, NA, Pushrod, 8 cylinders, 10 cylinders, 12 cylinders. 2. Mental aerodynamics for corner speed and braking force 3. Luxuries 4. Having fun with passengers. I would prioritise mtorocycles as I seek thrills. However a car is also a must for me 😅. I'm a both kind of guy, but I seek thrills most with the two wheeler.

It's interesting that the R7 and R9 are both steering towards more street usable powerbands on their sportbikes. I believe it is all about business, sales competition, and to a lesser degree, government regulations. As far as comparing to a 600, I imagine the 900 will have more pull up to about 10,000 rpm and then a 600 might feel stronger up top. Personally I prefer 1000's. I have a gixxer 1000r and I'm thinking about adding an R1 or the ZX10R to the collection hopefully before they stop making them!😅

I have a deposit on a white R9 and cant wait for it. The cp3 motor sounds like hot butt, but an exhaust will fix that and make it look respectable.

what is your helmet?

i would suggest getting used jacket/pants/gloves/whatever but guys please just take a couple more weeks and be disciplined with saving money and dont get a shitty used nasty cheap helmet, treat it like your bed at home, nobody wants to sleep on a rubber mat on the ground. try on a bunch of helmets, see if the helmet your looking at has different cheek pad options and so on. it really is just as important as the motorcycle.

I think yor baffle is lauder than the wind. It would be more relaxing if u shift 1 gear up to yor normal slow cruising. Yor bike has tons of torque, won't hesitate or lug for 1 gear up. 😅

What about the police. Speed enforcement in Florida and neighboring states is bonkers. They will literally chase to ends of the earth. Anyone that gets a fast motorcycle or car are going to test it out.

i live in florida, from what i know is insurance isn't required at all on motorcycles by law, if you're financing the bank MIGHT require insurance but again, not a law but you might get in trouble for breach of contract if you dont get insurance. for a while it was "if you have a helmet you don't need insurance" but i cant find much on that anymore from recent stuff. always a good idea to get insurance, esp if you're not comfortable riding 100% or ride in groups esp when it's people you don't know. i have a amazon hawk 250 so you know im not getting no insurance lol (btw if you know the montana method, from what i've seen is they don't require insurance either)

Dude I have driven in MANY states across this country, I can safely say Miami has THEE worst drivers I have ever experienced. Me and my family were actually at a loss for words, they somehow are worse than LA drivers, they take any chance they can, they’ll just stop in the MIDDLE of a busy road and put their flashers and think it’s ok…we saw a devastation rear end accident right in front of us because of this….they take the cake for bad drivers.

I've been commuting on it - granted I only go to the office 2-3 days a week, but still find excuses to run errands etc. Having a daily routine with it helps a lot. Did over 600 miles in 1 month. What gets me is being unsure how far I can lean the bike over. Can tell I definitely take turns slower than necessary. I got pushed into a wall on 395/695 in DC... SUV made a triple lane change into me in 1 move. Gunned it to get ahead of him, but then there was a curve and I didn't have the confidence to lean the bike over and take it. Feels like I could have made it if I committed to the turn and leaned over. Instead I hit the brakes while still straight, attempted to take the turn and probably skidded along the wall around 35-40 mph. 1 fairing gouged up and about 2 dimes worth of road rash on my knee (armor didn't cover that spot). So I got away with minimal damage... didn't rear end the SUV... didn't get sandwiched by the car behind me... Just wish I had more confidence leaning the bike over and sending it through that turn.
