Beautiful !!!! Thank you !!!!
Great Britain was in talks with France to support the South, Russia stepped in and said to stay out, even sending a fleet to New York and DC ... I joke and tell my friends that Lincoln collided with Russia.
Well, David Patten also did not turn against the prophet, but he was killed at Crooked River.
Yes, good point. Brigham may have been referring to those who were still alive at the time of the martyrdom. Remind me before our next stream and we can correct that statement
HI I really enjoy your shows. I was wondering though, is there any reason you dont call this show a Marvelous Work and a Wonder like it says in the book? Thanks again for the info. Looking forward to much more.
Appreciate the question; as you can imagine, when we are covering so much material in a short amount of time, finding the appropriate title for each session can be a challenge. In this case, we took the opening phrase from Section 4, the revelation to Joseph Smith, Sr. "Now behold, a marvelous work". Further on, in Sections 6, 11, 12 the revelation starts with: "A GREAT and marvelous work. As for the Wonder, you are absolutely correct to include "A Wonder" as stated in the "Book" - the phrase which is first found in Isaiah 29, then repeated in 2 Nephi 27 of "The Book" (aka Book of Mormon). In fact, in our next Session; #82, we will discuss in detail a portion of that 'Wonder' when we cover the restoration of the two Priesthoods. With your permission, would like to include your question in the opening comments of that presentation next week.
'Promo SM' 💦
Jesus never said nothing of what you said
200million books have been printed of the Book of Mormon. It took 2 1/2 months to be translated.
Happy new year eve
You should look at the Adena. They match much better than the Olmec.
Ok, will certainly take a look - always interested in considering new concepts
What year did Jesus go to the Nephis?
Thank you, welcome back. Your kids did a great job.
wish there were a transcript
There is an auto-generated, non-formatted transcript available with the recorded session. When you bring up the recorded stream of interest, you will see below the screen the 2 hands (up and down), Share, Clip, then three dots (...) Click on the space with the three dots and you have three more options: Save, Report, and Show Transcript. When you select Show Transcript, it will appear in a window to the right. This non-formatted version has time stamps to the left. If you select the text with your mouse and drag down to the bottom, the transcript will be hi-lighted, which you can then copy into a Word, or .rtf, or ... app of choice. We have also had some other requests for the transcripts, so are planning to download the text and get it cleaned up into a more 'readable' version. Since you requested this one for Session #68, will plan to do that one first and let you and other participants know either during this coming session, or no later than #70 where the clean version can be found; may also look at including the .pptx slides along with that. Appreciate the interest, will get us motivated to start providing the discussions in other forums.
I did get it . Thank you. Thank you so much for your prayers, I ‘m truly grateful.
Good to see that you were able to find the session. We will continue to keep you in our prayers, and wish you continued good health.
THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK. (THIS IS HOW LORD JESUS REPLACED ANIMAL SACRIFICE WITH PRAYER AND BREAD & WINE) " Jesus Christ our Lord is the high priest in the order of Melchizedek. " 1. Melchizedek, who's hard to explain (Heb 5:11) 2. Natural and Spiritual Melchizedek. In old testament times when all priests blessed with animal sacrifice, Melchizedek the high priest, blessed Abraham with bread and wine. (Ge 14:18-20). Jesus Christ the highest priest of all, did exactly the same (Mt 26:26-28) Apostle Paul's Testimony (Heb 5:8-10) Then what is difficult to explain ?? 3. Points hard to explain. The difficult points. (Heb 7:1-3) Jesus had genealogy (Matt 1:1) and had parents who had faith in truth .(Matt 12:50) And is God almighty. (Jn 10:30) Thus, St Paul is NOT telling about the 1st coming, but the SECOND coming Christ. 4. We can recognise 2nd coming Christ if he fulfils the following. (Heb 7:3) a). Must have no genealogy in Israel unlike 1st coming. b). Must not have parents in faith, I,e,. They must be gentiles. c). Must bless with bread and wine like 1st coming as prophecied in (Isa 25:6-9) d) Must be God Almighty. (Heb 9:28) e) Christ forever (Isa 25:9) The one who fulfils all these prophecies and conditions is Our Father, the second coming Christ and he's the high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Amen ! Appreciate your insightful commentary; and ... are there yet some points in relation to Melchizedek which may be difficult to explain or understand? Certainly. And ... since we did not have adequate time this last Sunday to go in to more discussion and detail, will plan to take the opportunity at the beginning of our next Session, #69, which will live stream on the 13th of August, to present some more thoughts on this topic. In particular, we will look at the text of Paul, as you mention in Hebrews 7, to consider the message he was conveying to the Jewish converts to the new Christian faith, and the relationship between the Levitical and Melchizedek priesthoods.
A quick editorial comment: In the early part of this session, talking about Chan-Bahlum, I stated that his reign was around 600 B.C.; actually was on the other side of the time line at around 600 A.D.
🙋 "promosm"
I never realized this before, but this would be the same Xerxes who fought the Spartans at Thermopylae.
Thanks for sharing, Danny. Well done.
We see a comment from last week: "There were plenty of people baptized in the Book of Mormon before Jesus ever came to Earth." Yes, that is true - for example, in Mosiah Chapter 18 - Alma baptizing at the Waters of Mormon; which (Mormon) could likely be derived from the Hebrew: Mem (M) - Resh (R) - Mem (M) - Nun (N); or being interpreted; Fountain of Pure Water - considering the underlying Hebrew pictographs; (M) based on the symbol for water, (R) based on the symbol for 'the head'; i.e. the head of the waters - aka - a Fountain; then ... (M) again for water; and (N) based on the symbol for a seed, representing 'new' or 'newness' - aka - pure water. Hence: (remembering that Hebrew often did not include the vowels): MRMN - a fountain of pure water; reference vs. 5
this is ben i love you
I especially like the switch between "Elohim" in Gen. 1 and "Elohim Jehovah" in Gen. 2. Genesis actually contains two distinct accounts of the Creation, and this switch in vocabulary tells us Who assumed primary responsibility for each phase.
