I’m mixed, I got tight nice curly hair. but grew up with my mom who’s white.. after my dad passed when i was a kid.. we move to a rural area where my grandparents lived, where it wasn’t alot of black kids in my school, wasn’t until i got to college i got my haircut by a black barber who actually knew how to cut my hair. few years after that i braided my hair for the first time. so this process and learning how to take care of my hair is all new to me. The girls who braid my hair assume i kno what i’m suppose to do so i never get any insight on what i’m doing wrong when i go get em rebraided after i can’t stand the itch and dandruff anymore after a couple weeks…. i appreciate this video my brother 💯

I use peppermint/Tea tree oil/Rosemary shampoo, instead.

Stay away from shampoo containing sodium lauryl sulfate, and keep sugar, corn syrup, ramen noodles, mashed potatoes, white bread (things that significantly raise blood sugar) to a minimum in your diet, and you should have far less dandruff.

Great video! But I got a question, is it necessary to put the condition?

The hairstyle in this video only has 4 braids spaced out all going back in a straight line. So the scalp won't get anywhere near as itchy as more intricate braided styles with circles, zig-zags, patterns etc. My braids are much closer together, plus has some circle pattern braids. Is a lot harder to wash inbetween my braids lol.

So imma be getting twists maybe and I kinda grew up with my mom so I was mainly around white family and never really got into my hair and stuff like that but shes gonna let me get twists and so ive been looking up videos how to maintain them and wash them because im completely clueless so this helped a lot, thank you
