Australia
Приєднався 19 лют 2021
Welcome Everyone to Larry's Fishing!
This channel is all about having fun, relaxing, and catching some fish. I mostly fish from the shore and use bait, but lure fishing will become a regular part of the channel as this journey of trying new spots all around Australia continues. So sit back and enjoy this ride with me as we target whatever fresh and saltwater species we can find.

The weather this summer has been all over the place and it was no different this last week. I did manage to get in another session at the Eden Wharf with Brett and Lisa before a storm that has dumped rain on us on the Far South Coast for the last couple of days.

Fishing Eden: The Lost Footage (Please Read Description)

As many of you know, we recently moved from Eden to Merimbula. While going through some boxes, I found an SD card with this footage of me fishing in Eden. It looks like this is from October of 2023 and has me fishing at the boat ramp and wharf with a few decent catches. I had a look at my fishing log and its in the file, so not sure why it never made it on the channel. So here is it, the lost f...

Fishing Off the Old Jetty at Merimbula Lake
That bird attack was hilarious, Larry. I can’t believe how packed that place gets.
Might not of been big fish but you were catching!!! I’d take that any day! Fun trip and hanging with friends!!!
Hey Larry awesome catches I’m down with my family in Merimbula and I’m wondering where you caught the first two salmon
I’m heading up next week. Weather is looking average. But I’ll still fish. Not sure if I want to fish with you Larry as you only catch bait 😂😂😂😂 jokes
Cormorants can be a pain where I am when out fishing for redfin. Only positive is if they stick around you know there is fish there although usually the tiny fish
Awesome video as always Larry, great work out there. Can you eat the Yakkas? I might be spelling that wrong. I have to say that was amazing how quick that bird grabbed that fish 😂 jeez!! And wow that spot was loaded with folks! Awesome video as always Larry, hope you’re doing well my friend!!
Good one, Larry 👍🏼. I’m enjoying the serenity. Good to see the boys back and spending a couple of hours with you, mate 👍🏼
It was very relaxing to start, but man, 2 hours in and there were 50 people down there fishing, it was cool to see, but made it tough to catch much.
Nice fishing with friends mate, great vid
Appreciate it, always enjoy fishing with people that watch the channel.
Those weather conditions on day 2 are what I call perfectly comfortable. Mid 30s I wouldn't leave the house lol. I am a winterized Canadian, my ideal comfort zone is like plus 10 😂
Its been a wild summer with the weather all over the place. Thanks for watching and hope you're staying warm!
@LarrysFishing I just got off the lake. 18" of ice on it but the propane heater was burning 😉
Nice little tiddlers. Lots of fun.
That's all it was, a bit of fun fishing with people that watch the channel. Thanks for having a look!
Don't quote me on this but I believe with a sibiki rig, you can't actually bait the hooks legally... They should be used like a fly with maybe some scent added, as far as I'm aware anyway, as it goes against the rules of more than two baited hooks... Most people seem to bait them anyway and definitely not having a go at you mate, as I've done the same in the past, also as mentioned I'm not 💯 sure with the rule of the sabiki rig. But just thought I would mention it because I'm not sure if it's allowed, I wouldn't want good old fisheries show up and put you out of pocket... Other than that a little slow but some decent size trevally and some more guppies haha can't complain when you are catching. PS I had a quick look at the rules and I'm getting mixed results, this is why I'm unsure of the law
Thanks for that Mick, I'll have a check from Fisheries next time I'm in Eden. Have never used one myself, but seen a few and they were using bait, but that was on a boat, so not sure if there is a difference. Just too many people and those damn birds made for a tough morning, but had a good time with Brett and Lisa and that's what it was about.
Those bloody cormrants are a pain, definitely not great when every second fish released is just getting eaten... We need a bunch of big pvc pipes that go through the wharf and into the water to drop fish in, yes the birds will work it out eventually but it gives options for release them, I'm sure you could pretend to drop it down the pipe and they will rush down to the pipe opening and then you can just throw it out, while they are already diving down to the pipe... Maybe keep any old fish skeletons from bait you collect, leave them in the Esky and when you catch a fish, chuck a piece of fish scraps out first, then send the fish free in the opposite direction, just a suggestion anyway 👍 Tight lines out there mate
@LarrysFishing if you manage to speak to them, please let me know what they say 👍
I'll get over there next week and let you know!
@@bushfishncook2128 Love that PVC pipe idea, might check on that and see if its possible.
Wont be long until the school holidays are over and you will have the Sapphire Coast to yourself. Those cormorants are such fish killers it’s incredible. Thanks for sharing Larry and tight lines.
Between the birds and the amount of people fishing, it was insane, but had a good time. Thanks for watching Mark.
Larry I felt your pain trying to control that last fish lol
Cheers!
Nice flounder 👏
Don't get many around here, so it was a cool catch. Thanks for watching!
That was pretty cool seeing all those fish schooled up right there! Great vid as always Larry
Easy to catch some bait, but getting through them to the larger fish is some work, but keeps things interesting.
nice flounder Larry
Thanks, I think that is only the 3rd or 4th I've ever caught!
Another PB,. Awesome job there. Flounder are nice eatting but you don't get much from them to eat. Tight Lines....
Had Halibut in the States, Beautiful eating, but they are much bigger. Thanks for watching and nicely done with all the vids lately.
What a beautiful sunrise, Larry. Wow, that water is crystal clear! That was a nice flounder, very nice, Larry.
Love the mornings on days like this one and I beat all the visitors out to the water :) Thanks for watching!
Large yakka was probably a fish called cowanyoung, great vid, nice catches.
Had to look that up and you could be right. That is the 2nd catch of that type this week for me, so maybe they have moved into the area? Thanks for dropping a comment, always learning :)
@@LarrysFishing yeah, I used to fish all that area 40 years ago, we caught yakkas and cowanyoung for live bait and fillet baits for the surf and other places, but (and I keep saying this) salted slimy makeral was the go to bait. Cheers Larry, having fun is the main objective.
@@rickmccluskey1366 I have salted up some mackeral from catches earlier this week, when we get a break in the weather, I'll give them a go. Cheers!
Cool flatfish lazy
Stupid auto correct lol
Oh, I can be a bit lazy at times LOL No worries and thanks for watching!
Nice Flounder Larry and well done on letting it go as they're not a common catch. You can let Leigh know that fresh Flathead are on the menu tomorrow night. We had a great morning with plenty over 50cm and 1 went 58cm so some nice size fillets coming your way and looking forward to catching up again tomorrow for a game of bowls.
She told me to say Thank You Very Much and emphasise it LOL Sounds like a great morning on the boat and so glad to hear you guys had a good outing. Thanks for having a look and see you tomorrow!
Those small fish are a good indication the fishery is pretty healthy, very nice flounder well done
They're everywhere right now, tough to get through and find the bigger ones, but it keeps me busy. Thanks Colin!
Time to put a smaller hook on mate, it might help you catch some smaller snapper, thoes ones were too big hahaha I noticed someone else say the same but you definitely don't see flounder as often anymore, i can see why though, they are so bloody tasty 😋 I think they should change the limit on them etc, good to see yours go back, i usually do the same but i had to try one, almost wishing i didn't, it will be hard to put them back in the future... Most flounder i catch come from waters you are advised not to eat from, so they should be doing okay breeding wise there hopefully, the fish are thriving but the water quality not so much.
I have had them in the States and yes, yummmmm. But 25cm is too small in my opinion, especially with the number you see caught, which isn't much down here. I'll give those smaller hooks a try and see if I can get a new PB LOL
@LarrysFishing hahaha hope you catch a guppy mate 💪 I hope in the near future, the flounder are a bit more protected.
Sad to see so few flounder in the estuaries now I feel like they were almost as common to catch as flathead years ago.
Watched some older vids on YT and you're right, seems like guys were always catching them, now not so much.
No doubt about it Larry….most people would use a shrimp net to catch those pinkies but not the King of Lake, he welcomes the challenge….LOL. Nice variety this morning. Tight Lines Larry and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mark, still no idea how you hook something that small, but leave it to me LOL Hope all is well, take care!
Good session nice sized fish and some variety
Enjoyed this day out with Steve, much different than my normal stuff.
Nice catch on the Salmon, Larry. Happy New Year, in 2025 and keep on Fishing!🎣🐟💯
Appreciate it and Happy New Year!
Crazy to see that many banjos in one place. Great footage
Thanks and it was a bit strange, but glad I found this!
That Trevally was a chunker Larry! Great work 👍
Should have kept it for dinner, thanks!
Pretty cool to track down some lost footage from 2023 - looked like a fun session too!
You would think I would remember a day like this too, but glad it was found and thanks for watching!
Looks like you had fun at the New Years fishing party!
Bit of a dink fest, but yeah, had a great time!
Good one, Larry.
Cheers!
Looked like a great mornings fishing and looks like you turned on the weather for your subscriber
It was a nice day and always good to fish with some subs, makes for a bit of fun!
Good ol bluegrass session mate! The flat boys are always a welcome sight too 🎉
Thanks mate, they were on fire that morning.
😂😂
Cheers!
Well can't complain about finding some extra content to put out, a great video too, I'm surprised you found it though, usually when you lose things in a move, they are gone forever hahaha... I was thinking, it's music time in my head, right when you said "well the music is playing this morning" good to see some finned fish amongst the fish caught 👍
I'm always losing things and rarely find anything, so this was a pleasant surprise. Found a couple packages of soft plastics too, might need to give them a go soon :)
@LarrysFishing I know the feeling hahaha Ohh nice always good to mix it up a little, it takes a while but once you get the feel of fishing with plastics, it's hard to go back in my opinion. I always just try picture what my lure is doing on the bottom and try to make it imitate a fleeing prawn/shrimp or dying baitfish, depending on the plastic. Curl tail grubs are a good start, they have plenty of action just on the drop, so then by just doing a couple of decent hops and letting it sink to the bottom again, you get that nice flutter down each time. Best of luck out there, tight lines mate 👍
@@bushfishncook2128 Thanks Mick!
So glad you found the lost videos….certainly banjo central at the first location Larry…..such a prolific place, so many different varieties of fish and that large ray was very impressive ….. thanks for sharing and Tight Lines Larry.
Found the SD card and some soft plastics, a rarity for me to find anything I've lost or misplaced. Glad you enjoyed this one Mark!
Looks like a great session indeed, Brett did well keeping that decent trev out of the structure, actually you had a nice save a bit earlier on too. Always nice to be catching plenty and have some good company while doing so. I saw the comment about putting a live Yakka under a float, would be cool to try do a video with a live Yakka on one rod and live slimy on another rod... Keep up the awesome work as always mate, Tight lines out there 🎣
They certainly know where to go when hooked. We had a good time and will likely get out again this week if the weather holds.
Now that should be entered in the Guinness Book of Records. Now thats fishing ...
Love catching monsters LOL
Good to see the bigger fish have started to move in it seems, some quality catches and of course, you can never complain about a new PB, good stuff mate 🎣💪
Thanks Mick, funny thing was I wasn't going there, but with so many people in town, the 2 places I went before here were packed already, so I guess it worked out :)
@LarrysFishing everything happens for a reason, as they say... Definitely worked out well 👍
I believe it to be a talent to catch something that tiny…..LOL!
You might be right, don't see many that size being caught LOL I had a good long chuckle after that one.
Hey Larry are they worms your using? If so what kind are they?
Beach worms that have been in brine.
@@LarrysFishing did you get them from main beach? Use to get lots there but slim pickings now
Got them online from a shop in Lake Entrance. I have tried a couple times at the beach in Merimbula and only managed to get one.
@@LarrysFishing I’ll look into it. Lakes entrance seem to have all the goods there. Friendly and helpful. Love the region. Was it bass straight bait and tackle?
I believe that was the place, they had them stocked on Ebay
Noice session Larry. Looks like Brett, not myself out fish you. LOL. Plenty of fish being caught. Well done...
Brett and Lisa reeled in a ton of fish. Had a great time, he is a big time bowler, so plenty to talk about. Thanks for watching and good to see that Sub number getting up there.
That was a great morning, Larry.
Lots of fun and some good numbers with the fish, thanks Wayne!
plenty of fish and a nice morning, great morning
It was a great morning out there, thanks for watching!
Hi Larry is this spot near Shortpoint Beach? I’ve finally made it to Merimbula but love the look of Tura Beach/Dolphin Cove…
Yes, its just the northern end of the beach, striaght down the road where Woolies is located in Tura.
@ thank you so much, grateful for any assistance/tips you can offer
@ which was you’re video where you discuss the gutters on Tura?
@@adamlong7993 I have a couple, but they're not titled, so not sure. I should do one just about that topic as it would help those looking. What do you need to know?
@ being new to beach fishing really it’s about watercraft - how to find the gutters. Would love to get into some salmon….was thinking Tura vs Pambula but love the look and quietness of Tura in your videos
It was great to catch up with you Larry. It was a magical morning. There was too much swell to get to our favourite spot this morning but srill caught our limit and some Snapper. Looking forward to catching up again for bowls. Bring an esky Friday as I have numerous feeds of flathead for you and Lee. Going to the wharf again Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Thanks again for catching up.
Talked with one of the charter captains this morning and he told me the swell was crap, sorry to hear, but good to hear you got a few. We'll see how the weather goes, might be able to make it on Wednesday, if not, see you Friday and thanks, Leigh is very happy :)
@LarrysFishing Sorry I spelt the name wrong. What ever happens we are looking forward to having a game of bowls Friday. Always great to play at a new club we haven't visited before.
@@brettsellars395 Not an issue, everyone does it LOL
Hey LARRY ! Awesome videos mate ...I'm a South COAST fella also ...hey put a good size float and leave a Yakka on ...and get ready ...👍
@@thurboturbo6456 I agree. Caught some incredible fish that way
Thanks for watching. I need to give that a try again, I think I've tried it twice with no luck, but I hear you catch some good sized fish that way.
Get onto it for sure the kings are about mate @@LarrysFishing
Well done Larry always entertaining
Thanks had a great time and hopefully we can do it again before they head home.
Salt those slimy mak fillets and use them in the surf.
Kept a few, just waiting on my surf rod, its getting an eye repaired.
