Howdy folks, the new cooktop and oven are finally in!
A little earlier than I had intended honistly, the old cook top had started playing up, it was trying to ignight every now and again, (it's an auto starter) and you could hear the click from the starter trying to ignight the gas, I had a plumber check it out immediatly to make sure it was safe, he said it was just the auto ignighter on it's way out, he could repair it for around $300 to $500. and it may go again in a few months or just swap it over for another cook top.
Unfortunatly the new government regulations concerning a gas cooktop said the clearance between the bench and the upper cupbords have to be a minamum of 60cm and mine is only 50cm, - so - that ment I would have to remove my upper cupboards up another 10cm????
I can't reach the darn things now!!! so moving it all then repairing the wall, repainting??????
Nope!! Forget it!!!! Electric met all the criteria, so electric it is!!!!!!!!
