Thats a lot of wind for your first time out. Its tempting to go when you have a day off, but some people only go when they have a day off and good weather. Its usually more relaxing that way. Congrats on getting the 26-X, its the best boat Roger MacGregor ever made.

Just checking: have you figured out the water ballast and centerboard for sailing? The videos don't show that.

Super gutsy (and gusty)! I had too much wind on my first attempt and chickened out where's my 26s🤪

There’s a video of a couple with a Macgregor and the did a completer overhaul, suggest you watch it with attention to leaks in ballast tank and they had same crack in the transom.

enjoyed your video. We learned sailing on our Mac 26M--they are tremendously fun and versatile boats. (but yes, read, study and experience and you'll love it) My wife is a better sailor than she knows but we each have our primary routines--I get in trouble when my antics put her past her comfort zone. Communication is paramount--it'll help get you through those occasional 'holy crap' moments! I'll subscribe so that I can check out the rest of your videos.

I don't know of anyone who's first time out was "perfect", but it is the one that we all remember. The anticipation, excitement and the bit of apprehensive fear, leaves a memorable trip. Congratulations to you both, the adventure has just begun.

Complicated boat😎 looks like you need the engine connect tie rod to the steering. Outboard controls on the pedestal, and of course you have to have a power lift. She makes a wonderful power cruiser we never sail upwind she’s just not made to do that💨 too much freeboard😎 which we love that interior volume. Be safe and take it slow.

Shaping up beautifully! To bad the spinnaker has holes, we never used it or had it out of the bag! If it’s not rotted, it can be patched.....good job guys❤️❤️
