@ishmaelmuhamed8027 because at some point some of your ancestors decided to migrate to our country between the 5th and 9th century. It's been apart of our culture ever since. Merchants traded goods here which is why a lot of East African countries have similarities. I personally grew up thinking it was typically comorian until I grew and discovered it originated from East African country and yes your are our neighbours even though you aren't the closest.

Swahili language experts classify 'Kingazija' (Comorian) as one of the dialects of Swahili. The standard Swahili spoken today is the Zanzibar dialect which was adopted by the British in 1948 and started to be officially taught in schools. Actually the Comoros are regarded as part of the Swahili people. Unfortunately they do not know or understand that they are classified as part of the Swahili.

@@TheComorianTourist Also for your info the word Swahil come from the Arab word 'Saahil' meaning coast. It is said the original swahili people were called Wangozi from the Northern coast of Kenya and Southern Somalia areas of Lamu , Kismayo and Barawa coast before they started migrating south along the coast ulp to the coast of North Mozambique. The Arabs started to refer to the people the met at the East African coast as Ahlu saahil meaning people of the coast. That is how the people living along the coast of east africa come to be called Swahili and the language Kiswahili. Meaning the language of the people of the coast. The Bajuni people of the north coast Kenya are considered as some of the descendants of the original Wangozi ie Swahili's.

Kiswahili come in different forms. Depending on the local languages the swahili pronunciation changes a little bit. Main dilects in the coastal islands - ki-amu (lamu), mvita(mombasa), ungunja(zanzibar), ki-bajuni (Sonalu island), ki-pemba(pemba island). Mainland swahili has been ignored in swahili classification but regions like East congo actually speak an interesting swahili with "j" sounding like 'y' just like in kiamu!! Ki-swahili is a beautiful uniting lingua!!
