There's actually quite a lot in this scene: David's and Freda's reaction when Hilda first exclaimed "dad" sets up for the reveal that they both thought that he'd died when she was a baby. The fact that Anders and Johana simultaneously answered no to Tontue's question about him living here shows that Anders knew that while Johana would tolerate his presence for their daughter's sake, he wasn't welcome to stay. His friendly tone towards her, however, suggests that he did not know why. Although Alpha said that he'd be happy to prepare the Paperwork for Anders, the tone of his voice and the expression on his face clearly said otherwise. Whether it was because he was offended by Anders getting his name wrong or if he was astute enough to realize that Anders had not been provide financial support is an open question. I noticed that Twig's ears were down, implying unease at what was going on. Ander's calling the Woodman "that creepy stick guy," shows that, either despite or because of his "adventurous nature," he had a low tolerance for the strange. I would imagine that Johana had been painting while she and Hilda still lived in the forest, but Anders's reaction to the paintings on her drawing table indicates that he wasn't aware of it, despite his previous visits. Johana definitely did not want Anders taking Hilda to lunch, but did not have a legitimate reason to say no.

There's a theory that Thomas's snowplough the one used in series 1 and 3 was damage for some unknown reason. I guess the production team didn't have enough time or money to repair the plough, so since this was series 6, it kind of makes senses since the production in the UK was going on in the 2000s. The one thing that a lot of Thomas fans hate this episode, is bc of "physics." Thomas pushing the snow drift was very odd that he can just push snow, but like looking back at Series 1 through 5, We know that it doesn't work like that. This was ofc a great episode. As a kid it was my first Christmas episode before the other episodes.

Idk why people forget about Butch in Season 5, yeah i know he didn't had a speaking role until Season 15, but still.

If I were to think of a basis for smoke even though his actual basis hasn't been revealed yet I would think of him as the Soviet Railways VM class this large experimental double unit prototypical diesel locomotive what is built sometime before or during war times even though only one pair of these locomotives was made it was still classified as one of the largest diesel locomotives in the world especially for one that existed during World War II

Awesome Job Also I Love Thomas The Tank Engine He’s One Of My Favorite Characters

I know the way engines trying to get through snow w/o a plough easily instead of getting stuck breaks the railway rules of physics, however I admire Thomas' determination so I can easily ignore (even the narrator states it wasn't easy w/o a snowplough but Thomas is still determined). And I do enjoy the episode itself - both Alec Baldwin (semi-decent) and Michael Angelis did a great job narrating it! I always theorized Thomas' regular blue snowplough was being repaired, so he had to wear a temporary rusty old spare. Another underrated one.
