I built this about 40 years ago, when there was a real Katana nearby to use as a reference. Very good model. BTW, the wheels should have black accent paint, and the real bike wasn’t available in red.

Nice build! What year is the model? I recently built the Tamiya Harley Police bike that my dad bought but never built, back in the 80's? So the kit was at least 40 years old. Everything was still fine except the transfers which didn't work. The model was a joy (but tricky) to build, with metal discs, handle bars etc.

I start the building models i need a realy good airbrush because a i'm a 3D artist so i know i learn fast. Wath is the best for you for all parts painting little and big area ? think's my friend. (I'm french)

When I was a teenager one of our neighbors had a Honda Trail 80, a similar bike I believe? It was blue. They had 5 kids and all of them rode the bike whenever they needed some local transportation. They had another Honda motorcycle but it was smaller - I don't remember what it was. They got a lot of use out of both of them LOL

Dear SME, we read SIMPLE BUILD in the annoce,as in building the kit, no more. We like that idea. We see you painted the saddle. We can handle that. But due to the fact we are not in the habbit of spraying paint or painting in general, is this theh only piece you remodelpainted? Or are there more to do? Kind regards, Robert

The '72 two stroke Kawasaki's would be Awesome in that scale and detail in my mind.

The CB-750 Honda and the '73 Kawasaki Z1 had a hell of a big, big impact. Nothing left but smithereens ! oh well ...

I was a young wrench back in those days at a Suzuki dealership. Those motors were bullit proof.

I built this bike but stripped the chrome off the engine block, painted it black,, the contrast with chrome covers is stunning. Mine went together a lot quieter 😂

Dip chrome bits in bleach, strips them clean, no sanding

Yayyy, this was good to see. I bought one of these Katana 1:6 the scale models in the eighties but it had the last half of the seat a blue colour, along with the 1:6 scale Kawasaki Z1300, both from Tamaya. I still have them built and on display in my cabinet here.
