That was the most unsportsmanlike way to handle a fish! You should be ashamed of yourself. 1st thing, you stuck your hand inside the gill plate. Thats how you kill a fish! THEN, once you got the salmon to the beach, you farted around getting pliers to unhook the poor fish. Al the while letting it roll in the sand just so you can wash your dumbass hands. Then you finally got around to putting it back in the water and just let it sit. You did absolutely NOTHING to revive the fish by moving it back and forth to get oxygen back in the gills. See how that fish rolled over? That is what it will do in less than 12 hours of release. It is going to die without even spawning. If you don’t know how to handle a salmon, as you said that it was your 1st one, get someone to go with you who knows what to do properly! Either that or watch a damn UA-cam on how to do it! That is one of the most unethical fish handlings I have seen in a very long time! You should be ashamed of even posting it. If a Fish & Wildlife officer was around there, i would have reported you. I've been fishing for 50 years, I think I know one or two things about it. In Washington or Oregon, you can't even take a fish out the water without knowing if it was a hatchery or wild Coho.
