Great video! I was planning on building a Brago deck, but would you consider this to be a lot stronger?
I think the blink Niko isnt too strong. If you are thinking of making a blink denk I would prefer Brago or Yorion or Abdel. Don't forget to put enough wincons in it!

Really liked the game and the energy you all bring, but you really should upgrade the audio setup. It is terrible to listen too.
Thanks man! Unfortunately the mic spiked the first 30 minutes making for a robot'ish sound. We are saving up for lavaliers as well :)
Another great card is nulldrifter. Tap 3, it enters the battlefield, you draw 2. Blink it. All your Shards get annihilator 1. It comes back into play, draw 2 more cards. Significant value engine
Great card! Annihilator 1 is still fun
You won't get the second draw 2 as unfortunately it's a cast trigger and not an ETB, still a good include however
@@benashley4837 I dont care about the card draw. If I have 8 nulldrifters on the field, forcing an opponent to sacrifice 8 permanents can often cripple them so much that they wont be able to recover. The amount of tempo loss from that interaction and to do that every turn is substantial.
@@benashley4837 Oh but you're right I was a little wrong on the initial comment. I foudn out after reading thec card a little closer. * but ya it is a cast trigger. I care more about the annihalator on it though
@@verzen I made the same mistake when I Included it in my list, a Reddit user told me about my mistake, however I've not cut it because of the benefit you've just said
Add in identity thief. It's a way to get around the no targeting legendary rule and it also blinks your own commander.
I love that one 😁
I just built Niko as a clone deck. Sure, there are much better options... but i think it's funny for a player to drop some huge creature only for me to kill them because of it.
can you post a decklist please, i would like to try this deck out
My pleasure! Posted in the description
So many missed triggers guys…
It was true commander game yes 😅
Creatures that didn't attack during the combat phase when Illusionist's Gambit resolved aren't required to attack in the additional combat phase, although they may. 21:12 he does not need to swing with all creatures only valgavoth was goaded technically Great game tho!
Didn't know that! Thanks for explaining :)
32:06 missed a trigger on Painful Quandary for casting Eternal Witness, resolves, than another trigger for Heroic Intervention, resolves, Lotus Petal, resolves, should it be either 15 life or discard 3 cards, thinks could go very dif because of that missed triggers :P
Oh snap, yea you're absolutely right. Guess Willem got away with it this time!
“Niko makes SHARTS when he enters the battlefield” 😂
English is obviously not my native language and had to look up what sharting is. This would make for some interesting tokens 😂
Definitely one of the most intense games we've played in a while. Thank you Willem for joining. Hope you guys liked it! What's your favourite card from Duskmourn?
Nice chill game guys! Was hoping to see the Niko deck pop off but was another sign that there's going to be so many painful group slug decks in EDH groups since Duskmourn... 😅
I was surprised I didn’t see more creatures with ETB abilities in the Niko deck
For board wipes I recommend Battle for Fiora as it adds the elusive Battle to the graveyard
Good one! A couple of battles could do. Are there any others you would like to add?
@@TipsyGoat Invasion of Innistrad though a bit expensive provides graveyard hate and bodies and can take out an Ulamog or Emrakul. Invasion of Zendikar is decent ramp Invasion of Ergamon also is worth a look as some early card filtering (which will let you pitch a tricky card type) and a treasure to turn 3 your commander . The backside also lets you tutor for another battle or land at the cost of another discarded card which will let you go grab your Enhantment/Artifact land or Dryad Arbor
I was thinking of Invasion of Eldraine too but it only makes ONE opponent discard. The backside is decent though as another ping effect when you get everyone hellbent
Tergrid - Yikes 🙃
Yea not the most loved card haha. You can easily cut Tergrid though, and just win with the pingers. In my own playgroup, depending on the powerlevels that are being played, I can just sideboard Tergrid and put in anything like a Osseous Sticktwister or Psychosis Crawler. Even like that the deck is still alot of fun and very powerfull.
Pretty good 😎 huge fan of white weenie decks 😂 just a bunch of little rascals running around. 🏃♂️
Who's your favorite new commander from Duskmourn?
Red/Black Valgavoth
So, you get to play commander and your friends don't. I don't think that's what you invited them over for... Hope to see some cool decks here that make for a gezellige game instead of grief.
Hehe na they get to draw 2 additional cards so they will be hitting their land drops and probably get to use their cards.
This isn't nearly as oppressive or boring as stacks decks. They also still get their draw step and access to their commanders and any other draw effects they have otherwise. You're just limiting their options and punishing card draw but not 100% locking them out
U even read the first ability? It basically allows them to draw out their removal + combos + literally any of their best cards due to drawing 3 per rotation + etc. etc. + making you target #1 because you're effectively trying to burn them and effectively trying to prevent them from efficiently running their decks. I'm sure it doesn't take more than half a braincell for anybody to understand what drawing 3 cards come your turn can conjure up between 3 different players.
@@ereh6707 So only if you happen to draw your removal do you get to keep your cards and play. F that. Plus most higher power decks hardly run any removal. This commander blows.
@@nfboogaard you are the kind of people i would like to use this commander with
I'm glad you guys started doing english videos, just found ya'll and I quite enjoy the content! Keep going guys!
We are glad you are enjoying our content! Thank you for these kind words, it really helps us to keep pushing :)
I wouldn't run him as commander but he'll fit perfectly to every reanimator deck. swamp, dark ritual, entomb, reanimate on T1 and let's have some fun
Reconnaissance is good for swinging with Arabella then pulling her back from blockers
Very true! I love that card. The thing is I would rather have the cards that prevent all combat damage dealt to your creatures.
im a bit iffy on this setup, because there are quite a few of the cards that also damage one self. and i only see the 2 blood artists as lifegain. also Spiteful Visions seems quite good but also dangerous since it'll do 2 damage to your opponents but 5 damage to yourself, each turn cycle
Playing Rakdos is like being that maniac movie character that has no back up plan. That's the way I built it 😁. We are going to burn everything
i don't think i should criticise too much, since i'm working om making a grixis deck, where the plan is that i may or may not kill myself with Phage
This sounds amazing! Who do you run as a commander?
i don't know yet. (maybe you could use Obeka, in case you don't want to die, for once) and maybe it don't matter. i was thinking of just trying to tutor for Phage and cheat it or from the grave or exile so you die. and then maybe also have some things in there so you don't die, just in case you feel like trying to win, like using stifle on it
I wouldn't use him as a commander. Black doesn't have ramp. He's better to be placed in other decks like Omnath Locus of All or any other mana ramp/mill decks.
You are right ofcourse. But the challenge is half the fun. And the constant threat on the other players at the table if you are getting close to 9 mana is a fun thing. But yeah in a deck where you can cheat big stuff he will probably be best
Bro what? Black doesn’t have ramp? Crypt gast, dark ritual, bubbling muck, magus of the coffers, cabal coffers, cabal stronghold, culling the weak, cabal ritual.
@@wolfsajin That's a few cards. Black isn't known for ramp, green is. Every color has a FEW cards that the other colors produce. Every color has a counterspell but blue has the most as to where the others have a few. Green has the most ramp while the others have a few cards for ramp.
@@almondmilk5315 yes, you aren’t wrong. black may not be known for ramp. But it still has it. I listed 8 cards there which is plenty, especially considering you’re likely running K’rrik which is just reducing the amount of mana you’re playing. There are ways around the lack of “ramp”. plus it’s not like you need more than 10 pieces of ramp. You have cost reducers as well that more often than not, are colorless. So that helps too.
Black has amazing ramp. Check out the older cards
Why cut cards like sign in blood lol joker
From all the cards I cut, I never thought Sign In Blood would be an issue :) It's a decent card, ofcourse, but I think we should be fine on card draw with Valgavoth on the battlefield. What card would you have cut, instead of Sign In Blood? - Mike
@@TipsyGoatgreat response. Valgavoth will draw enough with his ability. I'd say the joker is the one that needs to name call people about a card game.
There is a new creature in duskmourn that makes mana reduction 1 colorless for demons and other creature types So it’s perfect for this deck also
What budget cards that we missed would you put in?
Heartless summoning is great
Norin swift survivalist? Hit the 2 power mark as well as offers some protection from creature being blocked
Could definitely go in! It's up to personal preference. Personally I don't put it in because I don't want to keep mana open before combat every turn to have to recast it from exile in case someone blocks. I'd much rather play another creature so she does more damage!
will the ability damage count as commander damage?
No, only the combat damage
You're absolutely right. Only combat damage counts towards commander damage. Otherwise it would be a little bit on the overpowered side ^^
I like your deck! How about swapping a few unblockables for haste? I think Annabella should be able to attack immediately. Especially if you have built a big boardstate?
Fair point. How many pieces of haste enablers would you play?
I was thinking Mother and Giver of Runes to help Arabella attack unblocked. They also have power 1.
Yeah! Very nice calls :) Didn't think of these two cards at all since they typically don't really go in an aggro deck, but here they should work quite well! They can also be used to protect Arabella from single target removal spells! What cards would you cut?
@TipsyGoat not sure honestly. I just like that they can easily played in setup turns.
I cheat casted this Creature tonight. It was wild on turn 5.
@@moderneaux this sounds horrible... For the rest of your table :)
Maybe Caretaker's talent could edge out Tocasia's Welcome.
This is a close one IMO due to the fact that I feel Tocasia' s Welcome will trigger a little bit more consistently and whenever we just cast our creatures instead of having to wait for some of the creatures to attack etc. to trigger their attacking ability to create tokens. But yeah, could definetely see these 2 swapped. Too bad the 3rd level of caretaker's talent makes our commander useless so not a huge fan of that.
* Jacked Rabbit doesn't depend on its counters but its power. So combo's insanely with Porcelain Gallery
You' re right! Well caught. That is insanely good indeed :)
What other cool cards would you put in this deck?
Question, does he only exile from battlefield? Or can I mill or discard someone and take their stuff? The control aspect throws me off. Thank you :)
Any card that the opponent controls would go to the grave will be exiled instead. So yeah, only battlefield
Valgavoth exiles your opponents' cards sent from anywhere, except from your control. Milling/discarding your opponents' stuff will get exiled and become an option for you to cast it with its final ability. However, if you do cast one their permanents and that permanent gets destroyed, it'll just go to their graveyard and not exiled due to it being under your control. I also think that casting an instant/sorcery from their exile will also send it to their graveyard instead of exile, since you "controled" that spell, though that part I'm not entirely sure. I feel it's worded this strange way to keep you from being able to indefinitely cast the same card over and over again.
Cards that are in a Library or hand are not under anyone’s control
The wording is a little confusing because they did not want you to be able to cast your opponent's stuff over and over. If they worded it like "whenever a card would be put into your opponents graveyard..." then you could play an instant/sorcery, it would go to their graveyard and it would be exiled again, so you can play it again. You can definitely make you opponens mill or discard and then play their cards with Valgavoth. A card that is put directly from an opponent's library into their graveyard is still considered to be "controlled" by that opponent. Even though the card wasn't cast or actively played from their hand or battlefield, they still "own" and "control" the card while it's in their library.
I was gonna put him in my deck he’s the true commander but shiri shizo’s caretaker and shadowborn apostle
I thought of a similar deck
@@hunteroverstreetnox nice
Surprised krrik isn’t in here. Fast(ish) way to cheat him out. Lots of life but in your build we have life gain. Bit of ramp and he can be out turn 4-5 consistently
Fair point! I built him pretty early on and hadn't thought of K'rrik. Definitely a must
When I was building him I did the exact same and forgot krrik! It was such a face palm moment when I remembered lol
I think he works better in the 99 since you can just mill and reanimate or tutor reanimated
Net als Tegrid moet je hier gewoon geen deck mee maken.
Hehe this one is definitely more challenging to pilot than Tegrid
Very nice, keep up the good work!
In addition to getting more shards, if you use Nesting Dovehawk's populate to copy a shard that is cloning a creature, you get a permanent copy of that creature. To quote a judge I checked with, "Yes, the copies you create will be copies of the nonlegendary creature that the shards were themselves copies of. The new copies don't have a duration on their continuous effect. The copy effect applies indefinitely for them."
Forgot to mention that, that is definitely awesome!
Damn so if you make your shards token copies of nesting dovehawk itself before combat then at the beginning of combat you get to make 2 more copies of nesting dovehawk that you get to keep.
Nice video guys - great tech ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Toffe samenvatting, MoxCon was weer geweldig!

Extremely cool list, just jammed it in the playtester while listening to this and it's great!
Hope you enjoyed our gameplay! Deck techs are being recorded as I'm writing this, so stay tuned for those. What commander is your favourite so far?
Umbris
Great game! Link to discord isn't working though
What was your favorite commander? 😁 Just added the right link!
I just won him as a promo at my last commander tournament, I want to build him so much since of how unique his effect is, I just need to decide a theme
Awesome! There is a lot to choose from 😁. Maybe look at the cards you have laying around? Making a deck with the cards I already have, for me that is the best feeling.
@@TipsyGoat I don't really have useful cards laying around but I can try, I just don't know if I should do a landfall deck, since I love the mechanic. Or lean more into the random aspect of the effect and go for a storm/flashback build
So in order to build a deck that doesn't piss off my pod I put 0 mana cards for speed. Artifact hate in the form of spells that stick to the board. Land ramp. And hydras. Other x cost spells too.
That's pretty cool! Sounds like a consistent way to have board presence and still do a lot of shenanigans.
