2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Review
Переглядів 43 тис.5 років тому
There really aren't any video reviews of the only 6 cylinder to get the SRT treatment. Crossfire's for whatever reason tend to be the forgotten stephead car of Chrysler. As this is SRTology and we're all about any and all SRT's especially the forgotten ones we've uploaded this old review done by Motorweek from 2005.

Old review of the fastest pickup truck ever created, well until SRT puts out the hellcat ram.......
Picking up Yellcat 2017 Dodge Charger Hellcat
Переглядів 4,3 тис.6 років тому
Friend wanted to look at a hellcat charger. I talked him into buying it. We were out with yellcat in half a hour.
The regular version with a 6 speed manual is a lot of fun to drive.

I liked the hydra spoiler
Blablablablablabla……………..
"The Daimler Chrysler marriage is built to last" That statement didn't age too well. :)
C'mon Bill, that's not the SRT6 you're standing with in the intro..lol

I was fortunate enough to be able to buy both an SRT6 and a limited crossfire. Loved every single moment of it. The only must do modification for the standard crossfire is some h&r lowering springs rear adjustable camber arms & upgraded motor mounts. The SRT6 to give it a little bit more life, either a supercharger pulley or cam pulley depending on how you like to make your power and definitely a tune. With over 200,000 mi on the limited, The only problems I ever faced were the RCM and the sticky key. SRT no issues whatsoever but I'm barely at 50,000 mi both with over 10 years of ownership. If you find one, That doesn't start or shuts off with driving It's the RCM, haggle, pick one up for barely anything and enjoy.
@Alexander Politi personally I liked that the lowering springs adjusted the body roll, I felt while cornering. The engine mounts (because they were meant for the heavier V8 e500 sedan), eliminated all vibration in the chassis. Whether you'll need the camber arms really depends on the spring pads (crossfires either ran a 1 to 5 dot). Some people were able to lower their car without any issue. However I had severe camberware I believe I was at -6°. If you need them I would go for the camber arms rather than the shim set up (even though the shims are significantly cheaper). The camber arms are easily adjustable, so alignment shops don't mind adjusting the camber. Personally I like the h&R springs with the stock shocks but a lot of Crossfire guys use the koni shocks because they are adjustable. The only modification I would definitely add to sharpen up the throttle response would be the V8 throttle body. If your steering feels a little bit sloppy. The stabilizer bar needs to be changed. It is very easy to install, it takes more time to jack up the car, then to install the bar (two bolts & no more than 5 minutes of labor). Again I prefer that setup and I use it as a daily driver. The srt6 it depends on what patch of road you're on (the coupes are very stiff). So at times it does feel like you're hobbling down the road. If you have any other questions always feel free to ask, I will help the best way I can.
what’s an RCM?

Beautiful car!
Amazing how long ago this is
My dream truck. This reminds me of my cousins 454 ss truck multiplied by 5!
45 grand not bad considering if you buy the Mercedes SLK equivalent it cost roughly double that I would buy the Chrysler over the Mercedes if you are just looking for a fast car because think about it if you buy the SRT-6 and take the leftover money that you would save not buying the Mercedes and use it to upgrade the SRT-6 it would be most likely be faster than any Mercedes ever Produced
Great point bruh
King Lafayette cute 😂
Big dreams hell cat off da floor
didnt he just sell the car in under :30 seconds.and wasnt his voice deeper back in the day.
That’s 1 big pile of shit
Love my 05 Aero blue SRT6 roadster.A real Sleeper.... Thanks for posting.
Nice car
Great acceleration. Perfect suicidal machine.
The Chrysler Benz marriage did not last, but that is one heck of a baby.
OMG I cringed so hard...
that did not age well
My buddy has this truck.. it’s a beast!
Mercedes got faster sedans especially the brabus cars well over 202 now horse power wise than yeah the hell cat besides the brabus but theres a great deal of high powered sedans that will out run the hell cat
I rather get a hellcat than a lease & dump german car that breaks down the next day after the warranty ends.
I like that it has a manual transmission in it, something that you would not find in a new model like this.
Congratulations
MOPOWER
I’d get the SRT-10 Quad Cab with the Automatic Transmission because it’s way better than the Regular Cab with the Manual Transmission
525 lb ft at 1500rpm... Mmmm
My truck.
The most disgusting part of this video is that if FCA ever does pull out that hellcat ram, it most likely won't have 3 pedals. Seeing that big gaudy Hurst shifter and third pedal is easily 1/3 of the appeal of this truck for me.
Hellcat is the fastest sedan in the world and not trash and btw the SRT10 is not the fastest truck, the fastest truck is the shelby F150
The Shelby F150 is an ugly lifted but powerful truck, the people who built it were confused.
The lightning still better
Saw one exactly like this at a Racetrac gas station.
He said “215s”.....uhm, no...
Will the Dodge SRT-10 Ram ever be taken off the discontinued list? I would love to see another one of those Viper trucks.
Considering the Viper itself has been discontinued your best bet is a Hellcat Ram
HSV made the fastest pickup, not dodge
They made a fast ute, not a truck. It was still a car with a pickup bed like the Honda Ridgeline.
hellcat fastest sedan ???? lolll
Subwoofer that will "Turn your brain to mush"! LMAO! My cousin has one of these, and he let me drive it last summer. Loved it! Real fun to drive.
They couldn’t say ass on this show ?
215 40s?????????? Uhhh... No Sir!
I SEE you my dude!
FORD IS STILL BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO TOW SERVICES...FUC5...YOUR FORD
I love this truck! If you cant find one at a decent price look for the 90s Ram 2500 with the magnum V10. Its the protege of this engine
Can FCA recreate this monster please?! Such a cool throwback review!
Yes I agree. There faster than this. I’ve watch stock ones a track mid to low 13s. And the exstended cabs 13.8s
Ya my dad had a Ford 250 with a 460 . It would pull from a stop it fourth gear and haul two and half pallets of twelve inch block . It was a monster sure do miss it😔
The perfect blend of American and German engineering, overseen and mandated by German engineers.
You forgot mexican made/put together, first ever made came out of mexico.
I feel like this would make a great prerunner platform
Was it the early 2000’s when John began yelling at the camera?
If you have one of these or get one of these trucks you need to remove the cats and change the muffler. Also add a performance chip and then you got a real performer.
Adding long tube headers and exhaust gained 30+ hp and torque. They were really choked up when stock.
Drove one of these, they are pretty cool.
Comes standard with the check engine light already on
Cat bypass will do that.
