i don't like how the real-estate bloggers promote Spokane, it's cheaper....but cheaper then what Seattle right? that's about it. I work in the medical field, and I'll be looking to buy a house next year, i'm moving back in December. I moved from Spokane in 2018, also lived there back in 1996 when it was very cheap back then.

I’ve grown to love Spokane I live in the valley ! The winters are just too dark not enough sun! The people are friendly for the most part ! I feel safe and love my job and I travel often to get out of the rut ! I do plan on relocating once my lease is up Spring 2026 to either the west side or Arizona or possibly California ! I might try the west side for a year

It’s okay ! The summer through fall are great ! Winter is horrible! I’ve been here since 2021! My lease ends in April 2026 and I don’t plan to stay in Spokane but it’s not awful ! It’s overpriced for sure !!!

Regardless of whether we are teetering on a recession or not, we wish we did not buy our house in 2002 in a state that had a recession start the next year. We still owned it in 2008, and that was a double whammy on our equity. We were trapped in our house for 14 years. We bought it for $205,000 in 2002 it had already dropped to 180,000 by the time of the great recession. That is low point it was $130,000 and only recovered to our buying in 2015. Hindsight's 20/20, but if only we had been renting. When the cost of renting is less than buying, a person can make up the difference by investing in equities, and do just as well if not better than homeowners. It does require planning and disciplined, but very much doable.

The housing prices are ridiculous in WA...I'm sorry but it's just not worth it now living in Spokane even. It used to be the affordable place in WA....not anymore.

For small business go somewhere else its not great. If you do construction plan to work 7 to 8 months most even in unions. Winters can be snowy. I came from sac it used to be slow and affordable back in 2016 now its time to go somewhere else.

This may be a touchy subject for this channel, but have you made a video touching on the politcal climate of Spokane? It seems like a pretty blue-moderate town, but Northern Idaho right next door seems extremely conservative, with neo-nazis in Couer d'alene being a big story awhile back which turns me off the region a bit despite what I like about it otherwise. Does that affect the feel and safety of marginalized communities in spokane?

If you're used to crime, Spokane is great. Washington State welcomes criminals with open arms. Drug use in public is normal. Homeless camps are prevalent. Shootings, stabbings and burglary is a common occurrence. Spokanes Police officers hands are tied. State laws prevent them from actually doing their job in many situations.

Born and raised in Spokane and I'm still here. I've seen the city change not always for the best my biggest thing is a native in local is if you're going to move here you're getting away from the politics in Seattle leave the politics in Seattle don't don't vote the same way you did when in Seattle, also if you're reading the reddits understand that diversity thing they're complaining about we're getting it but we're getting it slowly not bad thing, and jump back to politics, the politics here are prettymixed ive seen trump signs and sitickers, biden signs and sticker, hell I've seen even Burnie Sander's sickers here.
