Porsche Cayenne - Water in Passenger Floorboard - NO TOOLS REQUIRED - EASIEST FIX
Переглядів 22 тис.3 роки тому
This is the easiest method to resolve your water in the passenger floorboard problem for a Porsche Cayenne. Vehicle referenced in the video is a 2012 Porsche Cayenne Base Model 3.6L V6. However this should work for all Porsche Cayenne models. 9 times out of 10, the flap that allows condensation from the air conditioner to drain out of the car, gets stuck shut. Therefore the AC condensation back...

    Thank you, I thought it was rising sea levels, but turned out to be that flap. I have a 3.0 V6 Diesel, 2015, so you need to remove the engine cover, which just pulls off, like on a much cheaper car.

    Question, does this help with water under the passenger side floormat front and back? My entire passenger side front and back are wet but nothing on the drivers side. Also, i hear water in the passenger door.

    • @aughtrnb
      @aughtrnb 8 днів тому

      Not sure if it would reach the rear but its a good possibility. Its insane the amount of water that was in my floorboard after a short period of time. We have what sounds like water sloshing around in the drivers side door....turns out its in the rocker panel under the door. Thats next on my list to fix.

    2015 Cayenne S e Hybrid: Despite limited visual access, you can open the hood, and feel along the firewall to flip the rubber vent door to open the AC drain. This took 2 minutes to clear, and can be your go to maintenance approach. If you have some concern that cutting the flap off could give mice access to the cabin, here's a fix I tried: take 10 OD mm silicone tubing and cut a section to run inside the black rubber AC tubing, and extend 2" beyond the vent flap. I also fit 2" of tubing length into the hard plastic funnel end of the AC housing under the dash, as I had already removed the tension clamp from the inside.

    Just installed mine today on my LR4, those cap bolts are T30 torx. I just let my panel hang from the top clips to access the 10mm nuts... then lost a nut into the hatch, had to fish it out with a magnet. Easy vid to follow, thanks.

    You went from a 2011 4Runner to the '06 LR3? I'm considering moving from an '06 GX470 that has 175K miles to an '05 LR3, original owner, that has 105K. Thoughts? Any regrets?

    • @aughtrnb
      @aughtrnb 11 місяців тому

      No regrets. I bought mine from a friend. After riding in it and realizing how superior it was to my 2011 4Runner (even though it was 5 years older than the 4Runner), I fell in love. Love to easily adjust the ride height with software. 360 visability is amazing. I'm 6'4 so it has a ton of head room even in the 3rd row. Seats not only fold down by grabbing one lever on the top of the seat with one hand...but they also can be pushed flat into the floor making a giant cargo area that you can comfortably sleep in. Heck even the windshield wipers go back to resting position if you turn off the car mid wipe. You can also turn the ignition on as you are driving and it will reset all electronics/etc. Its well worth it in my opinion.

    Did you have any gap on the bottom side between the handle housing and the tailgate? I have seen other videos that do and mine does but can’t tell with yours. I sealed my with a little butyl tape, but wonder if a gap on the bottom is good to let any water out that gets in from up top? What are your thoughts? Is yours still keeping water out nice with just the foam?

    • @aughtrnb
      @aughtrnb 2 роки тому

      So far so good. Looking back I would prob add some thicker foam and some silicone...but no leaks to date. I do have the gap between the ladder foot plate and the gate. Looks like an area suseptable for water to get in, but none so far.

    I think this is a better ladder than than the one the goes on the passenger side that’s available. I have that one and there’s no way to really secure it. Mines fell off two or three times from use. This one bolts on securely and frees up vision better, as you turn around to back up it’s directly behind you.

    Thank you! Excellent video. I used a hose from a small siphon pump to make sure that the blockage was cleared. Seemed safer than using a screw driver, far less likely to puncture the tube. The close-up images here certainly helped, visibility is limited due to the tight space you have to work. Cheers!

    Excellent video. This worked for me. Get 2 large yogurt container ready to catch about 500-1000ml of water. A great Mcgyver trick: use a long rubber flexible drain cleaner with a brush in the end and you will be able to feed it through all the way to the end of the pipe and out the other side. Pull back and forth couple times and you will be all set. Try this before opening up the wheel well or reaching into the engine bay. Hope that helps! Then use shop vac as vacuum to suck up all the water thru the wet carpet and then as a blower to dry it. Thanks again for making this video!!
