Welcome to my channel. I make videos about my DIY adventures with cars. Some of which are my own and some which I buy and sell. Always something new and different as I don't ever seem to run out of projects.
Thanks for tuning in !!!

I Fixed my Boxster Radiator Fan for $10 !!!!
When the resistor for the radiator fan on my 986S Boxster S crumbled to pieces, I fixed it for $10 instead of buying the original Porsche part for $190.
This is the resistor I used to fix it:

Here is a video of the installation of a Momo Prototipo steering wheel in my 2002 Boxster S. This process would be the same for just about all 996, 986, 993 and pretty much 997's as well. Hope you find it useful !! The horn contact is part # 96465210400 Electrical pin for steering column 999 652 639 22 The resistor is a generic 3ohm resistor from amazon
Porsche 911 T/R Walkaround
Переглядів 7197 місяців тому
I'm trying something a little different this time. I need to work on my videos for when I'm selling a car so I made this walk around video on the 1970 Porsche 911T "R" tribute that will be posted up on Pcarmarket soon. It should have been done in 4k at 60fps but I didn't realize that each time you open the camera on the phone you need to set it as such. So this video didn't come out 100% like I...
Porsche 993 Engine Removal
Переглядів 1,4 тис.7 місяців тому
Here is a video on the removal of the engine out of a 1995 Porsche 993 C2. It was pretty straight forward. It's been a while since I've dropped a 993 motor so it took lots of work though and lots of hours. Next time will definitely be easier.
Porsche 911 Budget Safari Build Part 2

Welcome back !! After a hiatus due to the unbearable heat in South Florida I can finally start to film some videos. Here I finally upgrade the swaybars on my trusty old battle horse, my 1990 Porsche 964 C2. I also change the transmission oil and O2 sensor. Hope you enjoy it !!

Porsche 911 Safari Light Pod Install
Переглядів 603Рік тому
In this video I install the TRE light pod on the bonnet of the safari. It was a pretty straightforward job without any real surprises. I'll say that the TRE kit was very easy since all the wiring was basically done. All I had to do was run the wires, switches and connect power.

Porsche 997 GT3 Transmission Repair Part 2
So If you're pounding along how would you know if a coolant line has blown off? I mean if it was at night would you know? Or are you just going to get a warning of over temp when severe damage might already have been done ?
I found bleeding before install made it harder to get the nut on. Maybe you have a trick you can share, though?
Is that rs 991 and if so then how's the interior the same and if not how's the ride softer I'm baffled
Why not, you ask? Why? Ugly steering wheel. Does NOTHING the old wheel didn’t, and doesn’t look better.
That's your opinion and I don't share it with you
@@drolasgarage632, that’s right-tastes differ, and it’s your car so your opinion is all that matters. But when you post a video for public consumption, are you looking to get your ego stroked, and expect only positive comments? Whatever works for you, but I hate Momo steering wheels on a Porsche. What’s next? A pine tree air freshener hanging from your rear view mirror?
@@user-ut8ic5tb3iSinger would beg to differ. Momos look incredible in those Porsches.
@@TerryLow , tastes differ.
Hi Sir , Where did you buy the little pin?
Does that little pin make the horn work?
The part number is in the description. Order it from any parts supplier. To make it work, the instructions are in the video.
@@drolasgarage632 I foud it , thx 🙏🙏🙏
El problema es que usas agua comun tienes que usar refrigerante porsche y listo y cambiar las juntas toricas del purgador y no abrir el tapin del deposito
O mejor .... Cambiar el motor !!
How you remove the brake cable?
It comes apart from the inside of the hub. You remove the pin that holds the cable and the rest of the mechanism and pull the cable out of the back of the hub
@@drolasgarage632 i already finish the car.The easiest way is from the handbreak inside the car.just remove the cover then you'll see the adjust cable for the handbrake.just release the 2 bolt then youre good.
Hi!! Can you list the wire colors again? I read elsewhere that the green and green/white go together and the White goes on its own on the other end of the resistor. Seems like you are doing it differently, so wanted to confirm. Thx!
Whatever is in the video. I don't remember off the top of my head, but regardless of what you read elsewhere, the way I did it in the video works the way it should
Great video. Fun car. I always wanted a white one.
Thanks !! The white looks great. And I even like the way the black hard top looks on it:)
Great info😁🙌🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Very cool and very resourceful.
Glad you enjoyed it !!
Heat shrink tubing? Butt end ready-to-solder joints with heat shrink? Real "field" work. Saw what you did there...
Tomorrow I’m installing a valve stem cap
Think you can handle that? Or should I make a video about it? LOL
Thanks for this great DIY, will keep it for reference when mine need replacement, hopefully it is the same as for 996 cars... Cheers,
It should be the same for 996 but not 100% sure. Hopefully it helps you some day :)
As always great info... glad to have a reference when/if it happens on mine
Glad to help
I must crush you
You must, huh? And how exactly do you plan on doing that??
@@drolasgarage632 one comment at a time
Great job
Thanks !! Fortunately it was an easy fix :)
That's exactly what I did on driver's side condenser fan. Very easy to do 👍 good video!
Cool, thanks!
Nice to see you again😉 specially Piggy😂! Thanks for your video.👍
Thank you! 😃
Do your turn signals self-cancel like normal?
Yes they do. The hub has a tab on the back that cancels them.
@@drolasgarage632 Thank you!
Can I buy your 3 spoke wheel lol? I have an 01 S, but with the 4 spoke wheel and i'd love to see the Porsche crest on my wheel. Also nice sub!
Sure, why not :) drola1@gmail.com
My Momo does the same thing as far as straightness
It must be a casting issue when they make the splines. Pretty annoying because then you need an alignment to correct it.
Agree. Car track perfect but has that little tweak
Yo, Piggy!
Making an appearance LOL
Long time. Good one
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I am happy to see another video from you. Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Great detail on how to install , feel confident I could do the job myself. Thanks
Glad to help
Glad to see a new video.Do you have a link for the horn adapter that you used?
it is Porsche part # 96465210400
@@drolasgarage632 thank you sir,I appreciate it.Look forward to your next video!
@@drolasgarage632 just got my horn working again 🎉.Love the butt connector trick! Thanks again for the video and part #
Good job! Headers don't seem to be that loud and annoying for street use. 👍 Windows were up or down?
Headers straight to stock muffler is not loud at all. It still has a little sound but I would like some more. I think I'm going to try that mod where you drill a hole in each tip. Windows were down during this but driving in the neighborhood so not very fast
Great video!!! I was just thinking how much I miss your content!!! Thanks for posting again.
Thanks for the kind words !!
Do you remember if you had wheel spacers installed? I'm going to be lowering my 79 targa this weekend and I've got 20 mm wheel spacers for the rear and same size wheels as yours Just wondering if there's enough clearance.
That was a while back but I don't think that car had any spacers on it. it had 16x 7" & 8" fuch replicas
You didnt throw a check engine light when you did your headers and youre not using spacers??
The rear sensor has an extension so it does not trigger CEL
@@drolasgarage632 I'm running 45 deg spacers on kine and pulling a cel :(
@@drolasgarage632 intermittent CEL
WOW . What a difference that's made had to swap a few sections of pipe with wear but what a difference . The actual swapping the slave out is a quick mod. Thank you for the recommendation JH and its a great video to watch. Thank You .
Glad you liked it !!
what tire diameter did you go with and how are the homemade struts working out?
Tire size was 215/65/16 I believe on 16x7" Fuchs all around. The struts are perfect :-)
Quality mate .bug up you
Thanks !!
Hi Drola, which screws ( size ) do you take? All the same size? How long the screws? Thanks a lot🍀
I have parts for sale a whole car
Hello Drolas Garage , im just wondering where you got your SSbraided clutch slave cylinder hose from. Was that from the UK. Its a good idea to swap mine too when i do the MPL cylinder mod. Looking forward to getting it done. Thank You
Honestly, I don't remember. I bought it years ago and put it on the shelf. Didn't get around to installing it until I did the slave cylinder.
@@drolasgarage632 Thank you for your reply. Cant seem to get on in the UK, so just ordered factory hose. Best Wishes.
will the mp slave also fit a 964 3.3 turbo
I would think so but you'll have to confirm with them
YOURE IN JAX????
Nope. South Florida
Good vid mate, but not sure why you disconnected the drive shafts from the gearbox end, once the coffin arms etc have been disconnected from the hub carrier, the carrier can be removed without disconnecting the drive shafts.
Thanks for the info. If I need to do it again I'll use this method.
Nice! What size wheels and tires?
The wheels are aftermarket Fuchs style in 16x7&8's. The tires are 205/55/16 and 225/50/16
Great Video , Ive just bought one for mine on a friends recommendation. Thank You Best Wishes
You'll be glad you did. It's a great upgrade !!
@@drolasgarage632 Cheers
Does it rub on the turns.
No rubbing
Excellent, great explanation 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Since I don't know what you replaced the front mount with (2 yrs. ago) and assuming it was a factory style mount, there is a poly infill that slips into the annular space in the factory mount to stiffen it up a bit. Hope this helps and have a good day at the track.
I did replace the front mount with an original style. And yes, there are aftermarket inserts. I think Function First is one of the suppliers.
Watched your previous video (2 yrs. ago) where the FVD sump was installed, best replacement, but noticed the swirl pots were original units. The 997 units are better and you might want to consider them. You also stated the mounts on the transaxle were failing and the WEVO semisolid mounts work great, as the keep the engine from moving around whilst improving the shift feel too.
Yes, The Wevo mounts do help to keep the motor from moving around which thereby improves shifting. Not sure what you are referring to by swirl pots.
@@drolasgarage632 The swirl pots are the de-aerators in the sump that the scavenge pumps send oil to.
I’m looking at a similar model,,, what lights were on the car and how did it go selling her and how was the engine over time
Honestly, I don't remember. That was a couple years and many cars ago. I do remember selling it back through wholesale auction though.
Who would you sell your 997?
My red 997? No, it's not for sale.
@@drolasgarage632 the RS
sold it like 2 years ago
Better Bodies by Porsche near San Diego may have made it. Has it been sold?
The car was sold. I still have the spoiler
Same question if you have one control unit for sale thank you
Sorry, no control units for sale. Sounds like you need a rear control module under the driver seat
@@drolasgarage632 thank you any idea where I can find the module
