I would like to have seen Harry using Parseltongue more in the stories. When they were hiding in the forests he cold have called to the snakes and had them look out for others, he could have gotten information from the snakes about the Hogwarts Castle, any number of things. He could even have had a spy network of snakes.

Something I love about Harry Potter is the layers of subtext, which is sorely lacking in 2023. Snape is glaring at Potter the first time he sees him. But we do not learn till much later that it is because he loved Harry’s mother and Harry has her eyes. We see a horcrux in the second book, but we don’t know what a Horcrux is until the sixth book. Harry speaks in parseltongue from the beginning. Does not realize until Goblet of Fire that this is why he could hear the basilisk as it moved around the castle.

Imagine going to the zoo and you see a kid having a full on conversation with a snake. 😂

The first time we saw him speaking with the snake was the translation. What would've looked like if someone saw him speaking the language? We didn't understand why, until the second movie. We all heard how it was, and it was creepy sounding.

Are you not entertained from Harry's communication? Is this not what you expected? Even Ravenclaw Highly Intelligent students know Slytherin parseltongue when they hear it, either from Slytherin or other house members . Normally Harry along with Gryffindor students, Hufflepuff Students, or even Ravenclaw Students speaking of parseltongue is not usually possible, mostly Slytherin students can speak parseltongue even though Hermione said It's not a very common gift to Harry. Very few members of Gryffindor Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff can speak parseltongue if ever. So how is it that Harry Potter can speak parseltongue? He also used that language to open the chamber of secrets to do a rescue mission, didn't have teleportation power, that was the only way for them, people that can teleport can get in there, but it's much better to use parseltongue, opened the Chamber of secrets got the Basilisk Killed. Got Tom Riddle's diary Destroyed. Saved Ginny. That goes out for Ron another Gryffindor student finally able to speak parseltongue opening the Chamber of Secrets again. Hermione grabs one of the Dead Basilisk Skeleton tooth stabs then got the Hufflepuff Horcrux Destroyed.

It’s really weird to realize that the creepy voice in the walls in Chamber of Secrets is the Basilisk talking. We just hear it as English because it’s from Harry’s point of view
