Imagine making a movie based on one of the most important events and individuals in human history and somehow managing to get like 95% of it wrong. Did the historical advisors for this movie just not get involved or did they lie on their resumes?

The opening scene started with the song of Edith Piaf, a singer born in 1915, that to me was the first clue, that the movie wasn't to be taken too seriously

When filmmakers make historical epic features, they often don’t make actions or events accurately.

1. Marie Antoinette wore a white dress. 2. Her hair was cut short. 3. She had on a white cap 4. She was placed on a board to restrain her with her hands bound. 5. And Finally!! She apologized for stepping on the executioners foot. And he replied to her "Show courage madame" The director of this film didn't do much research.

The whole square, place de la Revolution went into complete silence ...you only see the Queen executed once in a lifetime. The screams started once the head was shown

Where the mermaid statue were a megalodon and ghist ships attacked me but still survived and desteoyed the statues i didnt believe that i was still alive

Gladiator opening 10/10 Music was "PERIOD" mood music (Hans Zimmer) NO OPENING Production or Cast credits, just straight to the film also setting the "ROMAN EMPIRE" mood Opening shot he is already "Dying" or "Returning home" with the wheat field, which is SUPER relevant because its also one of the "LAST SHOTS" Opening scene also already dives into the characters "arc" as he looks at the bird just a few seconds into the film showing hes not a war mongering General, just a simple man. Napoleon opening 1/10 HORRIBLE MUSIC, sounds super modern, not interesting at all, not setting the mood, AND OPENING Cast and production credits in the middle of it....really off putting Opening shot is NOT the main character and is also not the LAST SHOT or has anything to do with it at all. In fact its just random person who we have ZERO attachment to. The opening shot is EVERYTHING and in this film, its pointless and 100% forgettable. Opening scene tells me NOTHING about the character or the story or the arc....just looking at stuff....ok....zzzzzzzzzz Only reason i gave this a 1/10 is Scott knows how to show medieval violence and really captured the execution with great piratical effects very well. Apart from that....oof.

I understand that Ridley Scott is a filmmaker and was trying to set the "tone" for his film with this scene, but the cost of that was truth - this depiction of Marie Antoinette and her final moments are totally false.

This whole movie was a mess, from start to finish. It was a bad concept to even start with - you couldn't put Napoleon's life in a single move - let alone this contrived mess. Scott still knows how to frame an interesting picture visually, but his ability to actually tell a coherent story has gone, sadly.

“Ça Ira” is a song that can be applied to the state of our current world. The class divide and systemic issues and oppression the working class from the bourgeoisie and upper class is horrible. Vive la Socialisme!

Notice in the beginning, how Marie Antoinette desperately tries to protect her children from a vicious mob. That’s one accuracy in the depiction. She stated that her enemies were, “all those who would bring harm to my children.” The night before her death she wrote on the back of her prayer book, “My God have pity on me! My eyes have no more tears left to weep for you my poor children. Adieu, adieu.” 😢♥️🙏 (They accused her of disgusting things, but that was orchestrated. These quotes give some truthful insight of her character.)

I didn't rate this movie at all. A man that conquered most of Europe having fought so many famous battles, along with being a military genius, and the focus is on him lovemaking with Josephine numerous times. Such a wasted opportunity.

This is what the revolution and the radical left lead to: anarchy and bloody terror, a pure orgy of violence....Vive le Roi !
