In the Manga he actually talked to the slaves and offered them two options: he will try to free them but it might take time or the poison vial he left with them.. the women where so hopeless and didn't trust him that they prefered the poison.. sad that the Anime skipped that (He also ate some parts of them after they died so maybe that's why?) They can mate with Goblin girls but they are not as fertile as Humas and they need to reproduce to recover their losses.. there is also something about human woman being more fun etc mentioned

3:02 chances are it is Ichiya doing the shadow thingy in order to manipulate Matakara, he's literally telling that the shadows are here because he's weaak and only him (Ichiya) can make them go away

First time we see him go off 🔥 even in the manga, they don’t show him killing everyone with the fire ninjutsu in chapter 1. Just him sitting on the pile... still badass. Chapter 2/episode 2 they show him in all his brutal glory. They definitely want to make people more excited for the action👀

the moment he talked about his wife being naive and stuff I immediately assumed his wife was only doing that because she was forced to be the perfect wife by her father. I'm glad the show revealed this right away and didn't use it as some sort of cheap plot twist or whatever later in the show.

"He's such an intense dude." Nah, he BECAME such an intense dude. That's what I call character development. He legit said in the previous episode that he used to be fine being a breathing statue, making no decisions of his own and only following orders. And now look at him taking down a small army and sacrificing his own arm just to get what he wants o.O
