Iced Earth Horror Show Songs Ranked! 🇺🇸
So sick man. What size pick you use?
@@Phicxtion Thanks! I actually use the small Jazz III’s!
@ I use those as well but I feel like I’m digging in too much with them using 10-52 gauge strings.
As someone who loves all their albums I find it interesting when someone has a different opinion on a certain album
I still buy and listen to cds. I buy more on albums now. I hate degipak. It break easi. When I bring then my car I put it in a regular one. I don't like the way it looks in the cd shelfs either
Hi Rick!!! your phone really knows the cool stuff in your collection..... I really like very much the first Iron Angel release i will have to revisit that one. I'm also not very familiar with Rage, they do have a big discography and they seems to always put out good material and yes you're right about that Girlschool album, it's very poppy and 80's production too. cheers and be well
Hi Rick!!! Yeah, more cool stuff to listen and yes Motley's "G,G,G" i totally agree with your thoughts about it and don't get me started with the closing track...... Never heard of Wizzard before, sounds interesting and worth checking out for sure!!! I only have "Delirious Nomad" on vinyl, but always loved Armored Saint stuff another one i have to add more, like Riot a band that for some reason passed me by in the 80's, rediscover them thanks to the VC and ooooh boy "Thundersteel" is and awesome stuff, so more stuff to add too. That's a very "annoying" Y&T packaging, it sucks because Y&T is a very good but underrated band (imo), unfortunatelly i don't own any records, but i have seeing the Rock Candy reissues, they have done three records and i think very fairly priced. cheers and be well
@@cristianosorio2517 Haha… to be honest I already forgot what the closing track was… that’s how much of an impact that album made on me 🤣 Yeah I think I need to track down those rock candy reissues for Y&T!
Been on Blind Guardian & Iced Earth kick.
@@MetalJohn1979 My two favorite bands!
Hi Rick, This year Peavy celebrates 40 freaking years of Rage. Afterlifelines was a great Doublealbum, one side of the rough, metal Sound and the other side shows the orchestrational stuff from Rage. For me its a Highlight of this year, even though my personal, favourite line up was with the awesome Viktor Smolski. In December Peavy will also release his Soundchaser /Rage Autobiography. METAL ON
There´s so much music to be discovered from the 70s. In the last 20 years I´ve been down the German Prog scene a lot. Jane and Eloy offered so much music digging into heavier teretoties. You avoided Foreigner? Check out tunes like "Long, long Way to go" from their debut....
I agree that the last few have loooong songs. The band deserves a bit of credit for doing their thing, though. The tours are more important these days, I think. For example, book of souls isn’t great but the concert was great. The tribal look and vibe worked on stage. Rock on man!
What do you think of Afterlifelines album? I listened to it a couple of times and it's pretty good imo.
It's Lingua Mortis orchestra, not Lacuna or Laguna :) (lingua meaning tongue, and mortis is dead, so means like Tongue of the dead or simply... dead tongue)
The vocals on End of all Days give me this suffocating feeling on the vocals, at least in songs like under control and some others, but really I love that sound, and I really love how everything everything sounds on that album.
I love Rage, and at the time I discovered them they were my absolute favorite band for decades later. I discovered them back in 1998 or something with End of All Days, which is a real special album and it's hard to say if it's my favorite of all albums but indeed, has this very unique atmosphere all the way from start to finish, so yeah this was my gateway album for Rage. I consider those times their very golden years, this includes 4 albums; Trapped, The missing link, Black in Mind and End of All Days. But I also love or growing to love every album they put out. I also have this thing about Ghosts, very biased because I see it their most disappointing album, I remember it was the first of their upcoming albums, since I was aware of them, and I was so excited about the ghost-themed concept of the album, cause I was super into ghosts and all these mysteries... and I had to order it through the CD shop, when I got it in my hands I was so excited I finally put it on and ...and the first 3 tracks are very good, but most of the songs later were so boring. At least at the time for me. But I know deep inside I love Ghosts as well. I just love Rage and can't help it :) It was also at that time where they decided to become the holy trio Peavy - Smolski - Terana with their respective superhero :) symbols (a bit cringe) and Smoslki brought too much virtuosism into RAGE imo, also Terrana used a bit too much that double pedal that made every song feel kinda the same at some point, mainly song choruses. I confess, was guilty thrilled to see how Rage is going to sound once Smolski was gone. It was because I feel I liked their guitars more before Smolski came, with Spiros and Fischer. But I'm not gonna lie, Smolski's made rerally great albums basically all of his albums are very decent, Welcome To The Other Side, Unity and Soundchaser immediately stand out here for me, but also many of these albums you really grow to love, unlike Carved in Stone, where the opening blows you away right away, heheh. I always tought Rage was one of the most underrated bands out there. They are so amazing, and barely anyone knew them, at least back in the day, but still... kinda. RAGE ON!!
Hi Rick!!! Well done and cool to see another one of this series back..... all killer stuff some are great an a couple good ones like the first Saxon or Testament. I like Stormwitch very much, but have not heard that "comeback" cd, i will have to check it out. I remember the name Banzai, but now i can't recall any song, another one to add to the listening list. YT suggested me that Shah cd a couple of years ago, yes they're from Russia, it's a fun listening and bad at all. cheers and be well
Great video and channel content, dude!! I want to recommend 2 vinyl releases to you. Medieval Death LP and free DVD and the Mordicus “Rights ‘n Trials” LP. If you want to know more, I suggest that you Google this exact sentence: "Medieval Death LP and free DVD + Mordicus Rights ‘n Trials LP". You will be able to check audio, videos etc. \m/
Dianno´s bands/releases were a bit spotty after he left Maiden but here´s a couple that are really good: The first two Battlezone, the Killers debut "Murder One" and the Architects Of Chaos album. Funny you like that Stormwitch so much, my old friend (for over 30 years) Fabian plays guitar on that one. I still have all the old Shah albums on vinyl, maybe I should put them on again...
Whoa… Your friend played on that?? Don’t know how many he played on but that one is by far my favorite of the comebacks! 😎 Ill check out some more Dianno stuff as well, as long as it’s in print ill get them all!
All hailz to the mighty Stormwitch and the amazing Andy Mück 🤘🤘
Ahh the good old days, Blind Guardian X Iced Earth - Excalibur! I discovered the band back in 2010 with the same song as i was searching for Iced Earth songs Excalibur is BY FAR the best song by Grave Digger! (Sorry Rebellion fans)
Classic Rock is a fun time. I listen to anywhere from Boston, Kansas, Pink Floyd and many others. It's not something I'll hear occasionally but if I wanna hear something just out of nostalgia, why not right?
Strangers in the Night - UFO. That's what you really need to be doing.
@@caljerm Nice recommendation! Will get it! 😎
@rickrenegadesmetalreviews3243 it is probably the best live album ever recorded and frankly just one of the greatest classic hard rock albums period. The CD player was starting to get a really twitchy in my truck when ejecting and loading discs so I pretty much had to settle on one disc to put in and leave in there for good and I chose Strangers In The Night.
KIllers is the best Maiden album. I saw them live on the Killers, Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind and Powerslave tours. Everything after that is patchy at best and crap at worst.
I bought the debut then guardians of the flame in,83/84,they were ok,but i ended up selling them a few years later. Great debuts around this time ,were, under the blade, twisted sister & melissa, mercyful fate. Sorry , couldn't think of anything else to say about virgin steele.
Hi Rick!!! so glad to hear you're "discovering" this type of rock, term/label i don't understand because to me just because it's from the 70's qualifies as classic rock..... All of those cool bands are the foundation and big influences of what or music heroes love, like Hansi and Steve Harris with Tull or UFO for example...... another cool and underrated band is Budgie awesome power trio from Wales. cheers and be well
@@cristianosorio2517 Yes! Budgie is amazing! Have everything up to Power Supply album. I dug into the “proto metal” stuff hardcore over the past several years, but as far as the 70’s rock goes I was more of a casual listener… I really wish people discussed the deep cuts of the 70’s bands instead of the radio hits… Just like metal, im usually more thrilled with the songs no one talks about 🤣
I really like classic rock . There’s great bands and great albums as well
🤘
Very good video, my friend. I have always loved the honesty of this great band, always faithful to Heavy Metal. I think you make great points, but I am inclined to ask one question. You mention the replaceability of Jewel Cases, but what happens if you get one signed by the band and it cracks? It’s over right? I feel that if you get a Digipak signed you would have less of a chance of breaking it especially if your organized and careful. I have also always had the opposite opinion simply due to aesthetic preference, I felt that Digipaks really showcase the art more than jewel cases. You do however have a convincing argument.
Some digipacks are super annoying when you wanna get the CD out. My solution has been to put a CD sleeve into some of them and just close the digipack around it. The worst designed ones are those where you take the CD out towards the inner middle. Who came up with that?! It's so dumb.
What are your thoughts and opinions on the self title EP from 85. One of my personal favorite speed metal releases
Worse than digipaks are the digisleeve.
I bought that same boxset on Amazon and the idiots sent it to USPS who stole the boxset, the worst experience of my life, and now it is discontinued and at ridiculous prices on eBay or Discogs.
Digipaks suck ass
Hi Rick!!! I think your phone knows how to pick cool music..... i discover Tesla in 86's with that album, like it because it was different from the glam/hard rock bands from LA, to me "Gettin' Better" is a very catchy song. Need to hear the cool/german Warrant and Falconer too, can't argue with your phone. Hahaha fun to see more Rata Blanca..... cheers and be well
@@cristianosorio2517 Haha, yeah it usually does pick good stuff at least… only one week it picked some lame ones 😎
Hi Rick!!! more cool stuff..... i think early Malmsteen is his best stuff a mix of instrumental and vocals (from another guy!!!). Nice surprise to see the german Bullet..... back in the day i remember listening to that album on some local radio (rock show) and always loved the cool mix of styles as you described ACDC/Accept/Krokus and the singer also sounds a bit like Udo, added to my endless whishlist!!! Razormaid?? never heard of them before, also that Renegade band, two i will try to listen. Also Skyclad, however i'm not a big folkmetal dude. Btw a minor suggestion you can add in the description of the video the band and album tittles to search them after?? cheers and be well
@@cristianosorio2517 Thanks again!!! Skyclad to me is better than the modern folk metal, it’s still more or less power metal and doesn’t contain any weird death/black metal vocals… so you may potentially dig it… The addition of violins is probably its biggest trait 😎
@@cristianosorio2517 I like your suggestion! Also Im glad you asked because I have a question… would you think it’d be better if I showed what was included in the thumbnail? Or is the surprise better?
@@rickrenegadesmetalreviews3243 is think surprise is better
Great Malmsteen album. Cool they had some more vocals on the second album. Love it.
@@holspa Agreed! 😎
Great video again, love that Wargasm album too (all of them are great, but this one is so killer and the best). And also liked 13 of Megadeth, never understand the negative responses. It's typical Megadeth, fantastic produced. First Holy Moses is today perhaps strange, but at it's release back then this was very dark and heavy and special because of these fucked up female singing. But of course, the band was getting much better very soon. Love all their 80ies stuff very much, especially New Machine of Liechtenstein. And liked the Too Druck To Fuck Picture Disc back then hahaha
@@AxemanofEmerald Cool someone agrees with me about 13… its not so much I think its the best, but I do think it’s really strong! Even stronger than the last 2, and stronger than System and United Abominations. But that’s just me 😎 The Holy Moses I could see it making more of an impact in its day for sure!
Sooo cool you talk about Pettypew!! I bought this CD back then when it came out! Was already then just small underground band here in Europe. But love this CD also so much. Great choice, cool you know them! Great videos like these shuffle of death series - GREAT! Noisehunter, Holy Moses... so great bands and records!! Cheeers from Switzerland
@@AxemanofEmerald Very cool! Id probably never know about them if it wasn’t for some guy that goes to festivals 😆 And thanks!!! Glad you like the series! It’s super fun 😎
Hello, the band's attitude in using AI artwork is ridiculous. I've been following the band since about 1987 and I have all their albums, and I've seen them live more than once, so you can imagine how disappointed I was with this new cover. They've worked with great artists like Andreas Marshall, Markus Mayer and Gyula Havancsák, and now we get this... I wouldn't care about all these flaws if it was done by a real artist. After all, perfection is something difficult to achieve, but I would overlook it, believing it to be "artistic freedom". But it makes me sick to see the band using such an artifice. So much so that in their last music video, I posted a comment that even spoke highly of the song, but I was very critical of the idea of using an AI cover. If it were a new band, I would already criticize it, because it's taking away the work of good artists, but coming from a veteran band, this only makes me sadder.
Hi Rick!!! Unfortunately i think i have not heard any of those 5 Cds yet.... well with the exception of "13" by Megadeth. I agree with what you said, but was a kind of strange record, because a good couple of songs have already been released in, so that was a let down. Now i will really have to check Wargasm, keep hearing killer stuff about the band, but never gave them the attention, back in the day they totally passed me by!!! cheers and be well
Hi Rick!!! Not a fan of digipacks either..... i really have how they easily look beat up and those cheap and thin digisleeves are just so low budget. However my main issue it that you put them in your shelf with the jewel cases is sometimes you don't see them because of how thin they are!!! that's the main reason it have not intention to get the last Scorpions's cd. cheers and be well
amazing thumbnail! hahahaha I really like Digipacks (expect double/triple ones), it's better to see the art covers, but they're most fragile... My problem is with digisleeves/papersleeves 💀
@@T.Saturnine Nothing wrong with that! 😆 My thumbnail was overdramatized but now that I don’t have to drive around with these things flopping around in my car anymore it’s not nearly as bad! 😆
The worst thing with digis for me is when they have a different size compared to other CDs! That really triggers my OCD, hahahaha....
@@albertampel4175 I totally get that! I used to hate box sets for the same reason 😆
Ya know if I'm forced to get a digipack, I rather have it in a digibook. Thanks for the shoutout
@@christopherbarker1048 Absolutely!!! 😎 And no problem!!! It was about time we call out these travesties 🤣
The Holy Moses debut is a bit strange, right? Their very first half official demo is called "Black Metal Masters", hahahaha... Wargasm are fantastic! Their two albums, the "Fireball" EP and the "Rawgasm - Live in Boston" CD. Not to forget the "Satan stoly my Lunch Money" demo comp. Totally underrated band!
@@albertampel4175 Haha, yeah I’ve never really disliked the debut but it never really grabbed me either… I never could figure out why! Totally agree! Thanks again for watching!!! 😎

The last two albums of this band are very bad, but the previous ones are pure Heavy Metal in the style of Judas Priest with quite a bit of quality 🤘
they gotta know people in the scene are bitchy about ai art and did this for attention
Hi Rick!!! Ok, now i'm really curious about this new artwork..... i will have to see it myself. I don't think Grave Digger is a "wealthy" band, but i think they can hire a cool artist and create a better one. cheers and be well
@@cristianosorio2517 Yeah im picking on Grave Digger really hard… but I agree, they’ve had some absolutely excellent album covers in the past! 😎
Somewhere in time is my personal favourite too. Not to mention the cover.
i dont think you know your talk about AI are wrong in this day and age but in the future could be correct. there are 2-7 types of AI at this time sort of. to my knowledge only NARROW AI is being used at this time. it is weak . so when you say a computer just created some album cover has no soul is WRONG. what the software did was actaully just copy and paste so to speak from others work. the software didnt actaully create anything. but copying the soul of whoever made the art before. but in the future there will be AGI artificial general intelligence that is where the computer doesnt have to be trained on anything. and is thinking by itself. those would be yes souless art being generated. after thing AI goes into other types and more complicated but just to sort of keep it simple
@@ephelesfrance7006 That’s almost worse 🫤
Hi Rick!!! I hear what you're saying.... unfortunately AI is here to stay and it will keep growing with technology. Let's hope we will be able to tell when something is "created" by a human or a computer. Anyhow the artwork, as you said is not bad, bu t feels "souless". Btw i'm also not a big fan of Priest last album cover too..... Now rock t-shirts are a complete different thing and now anybody is wearing a metal t-shirt and that's "cool" but "odd" at the same time.... cheers and be well
