Taking care of your clippers
In this video I tell you a couple of tips for storing your clippers.
Here are the key points:
1. Clean them over a box so you don’t lose any pieces
2,. Cover the blades in oil to stop then rusting.
3. Put oil in the plastic packet if you are storing than away for the next season.
4. DO NOT coil the cable up tightly around the clippers- this will break the wires inside.
Plus other tips inside the video 😊

    My first Andalusian is now 2 and her mane is already incredibly long. Having always had 'normal' manes to do in dressage braids before, Ive found your video to be a real anxiety saver!! I will begin practicing on her now with your method so by the time she is out and about at shows I know she'll look incredible! Thanks for such clarity in your demo

    @Liz Hadley a huge thankyou for this easy technique you show. I have a pretty Arabian mare with a long thick mane that'd be a nightmare to braid in small show braid balls (not sure what they're called) and those running French or Dutch braids look wonderful but I've never been able to do them. Plus, I'm a left hander needing to braid my horse on the off side so I've got a few things against me and I was thinking how it'd be a shame if I could only manage a Diamond braid but this has given me new hope in my upcoming first show with her next month as I'm sure I can manage this and it looks great! Thanks for explaining it so well. 😉

    Thank you for this. I’ve been having the hardest time getting to my horse’s actual dock because her tail hair is just soooooo thick. Just watching how you washed this tail and got deep inside was very helpful.

  • @horseshine6137
    @horseshine6137 3 роки тому

    You actually have it backwards. You NEVER brush a horses' tail when it's dry. In fact, NEVER brush the horses' tail with a brush, use only a large-toothed pick to take the knots out when the tail is still damp and only after washing and conditioning well. Start at the ends and work slowly to the root. There will be less breakage and splitting if the hair is wet because rather than breaking or pulling out, the hairs are more elastic when wet and less brittle.

    • @totalequipro2227
      @totalequipro2227 3 роки тому

      Thank you for your opinion. This is actually incorrect. When the hair is wet it stretches and breaks much more easily. This is why we add conditioner and let it dry completely , then carefully brush it through starting at the bottom.

    • @willowgray9287
      @willowgray9287 3 роки тому

      I’m a Licensed Cosmetologist and work professionally in Texas. (Qualified to speak on this matter 😉) Wet hair is far weaker than dry hair. Hair is made up of a number of proteins called keratins. When wet, the proteins form weaker bonds (hydrogen bonds) than when it’s dry (protein bonds). Which makes the hair more susceptible to damage. Damp hair stretches when brushed/combed. The stretching also deforms the cuticle, causing cuticle edges to lift and crack. I’m not saying you can’t ever comb wet hair, that’s unrealistic. Just be careful when you do!! ❤️
